The Hills was good because we did have characters that had rooting value, that we had invested in before. Lauren, Jason, even Heidi was in LB2for an episode. I hated Audrina and hope she's gone for the next one. It's going to suck this time because Jason won't be around as Lauren and Jason have broken up.

There was almost no rooting value for any of this years characters on LB3. What was the point of Lexie and Breanna? I think Breanna was only on their because she was Lauren's sister. The guys were worthless. I loved Cami and Kyndra just because they made the show interesting. I bet Kyndra will be the narrator next year. I hope she is anyways. I hope Tessa goes far, far away.

I thought The Hills was pretty good...except I got tired of how every episode Jason and Lauren were together, then he cheated on her or got pissed at her, she said she'd never go back to him, and then she does by the end of the episode. That was like 2/3 of all episodes in that series.

I liked Cami and Kyndra in LB3 - although I think Cami tried to act more b.itchy for the camera than she really is in real life. Overall though, I wasn't too into LB3. Lexie, Breanna, and Kelan were all boring and served no purpose. Tessa was just as big a slut as any of the 'bad' girls - I mean that girl got with lots of people - except she's got this sweet, innocent act. Rocky was nice, but sorta boring bc she was the most mature person on the show. Oh and Kyndra's boyfriend was ugly - I can't believe she'd be with him.

I liked both the Hill and 8th and Ocean more than this season of LB. The cast just wasn't that good, IMO. The original cast was the best, IMO. And last year was okay, since we already knew half of them from the first season. I don't know why these kids are the 'popular' kids at their school. Kyndra and Cami just both seem b!tchy and aren't very attractive. I also don't see the point in Breanna. She is just there since she's LC's sister.

    • I have never been much of a Lulu fan either since the JMB days.  I do think Alexa Havins is really a great recast.  When Lulu returned it was at the expense of Sam (no loss to me) but not the best for audience favor, she was barely on screen for weeks after she woke up, then went to run off and put everyone in danger to find Charlotte at the expense of her other child, and finally moved on to this Brook/Dante baby investigation.  Lulu never had a chance to grieve the years she lost, re-bond with her family or her friends, re-integrate herself back into town, or be anything more than a chaos creator. Meanwhile, Brook Lynn is this poor, innocent victim that's being bullied by Lulu.  I don't think Lulu is right.  I would just like a little more subtlety in the writing.
    • Just beautifully done. I could name some minor quibbles, but I won't, because what DAYS gave us today was golden. That was soap opera at its finest, paying homage to history and legacy and actors and the audience. This is why we love soaps.
    • To clarify, we could argue about the necessity to have John Black speak while in hospital, but the body created an opportunity for people to touch him, and move around him.  Even though I never totally suspended my disbelief, I appreciated their creative choice to form a visual representation of loss.  Certainly there were other ways to tell this story, but it will stay with me because those production choices enabled these performances. However, with disdain, I note that Days has found an odd middle ground between a flashback and a montage.  I define a flashback as least a couple of rounds of dialogue, if not a whole scene.  And a montage would be a visual snippet without much dialogue.  But, these were often just a single line, or an entrance.  It felt like a bit of a tease, and made me wish that Peacock had curated a playlist of John Black's Greatest Hits, like they do for some Bravo shows or SNL characters.  OT - but they have yet to maximize that platform.
    • It's tough for me because I feel like this has always been Lulu. She used to be even worse, slut-shaming, verbally abusing other women, and always being written as being in the right. They should let Brook Lynn get dirtier, but I think the material of Lulu digging and being self-righteous, making everything worse even while not intending to do so, but also not being as in the wrong as Dante thinks she is, all makes sense for her. But I don't have as much experience with Lulu as a lot of fans as I just could never stomach her beyond the time she was a mute kid, so I don't have much right to speak.
    • Thanks @JAS0N47 for all the ratings!   All My Children hits Number 1 in the ratings for the first time in its history during the week of 8/20/73-8/20/73!
    • I think the writing is slanted against Lulu.  I don't think there is an issue with the character in general.  I just think Lulu comes doesn't get many layers or nuance in her writing.  Lulu becomes obnoxious and a bully to Brook Lynn and both characters SHOULD have flaws.
    • Totally here for Anita dumping Sharon in the past for first Dante Green, and then Vernon...
