Jeez, I can hardly believe that this show has been on for almost seventeen years. This is a shock to me. I didn't think she'd ever leave, regardless of her primetime gigs. I suspected Whoopi would leave first. I watched for the first time in a long while the other day and they had all of these clips of people welcoming Barbara back (including Susan Lucci and the cast of GH). Barbara came across a lot more likeable after her health scare. She said that Frank Langella gave her the chicken pox and I thought it was funny how they neglected to mention the rumors that they were dating a few years ago and that Whoopi had been in a ltr with him.
  3. I've read a couple of times in the past that it was for Blaize in the Old West story.
  4. Yes, the first Carlotta is in this clip: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_Wgi5JzVdQY
  5. Emma looks like a wet mouse.
  6. The City was taped in Manhattan. No OLTL characters appeared on The City, but Alex appeared on OLTL.
  7. Great photo. I don't know why they did the copy in white though. Were these pics from a SOD sexy soap brunette spread?
  8. That picture is hilarious. R.I.P. Roya.
  9. I didn't know that JL did a soap before OLTL.

  11. Hmm, quite possibly. I never saw this episode, I hadn't remembered seeing Nexxus since the late '80s/very early '90s. This must be '94.
  12. LOL, Yick apeared in a TNG episode. Oh man, Stephanie, ha. I had forgotten about her. She was off the show at this point, but remember when her mom won the lottery and suddenly her annoying little brother had all this new [!@#$%^&*] and Yick was wondering where the hell it came from?
  13. I think I still have her appearance on his daytime talk show on tape somewhere. Shoutout to Stephanie Beacham, Joan's got sable cuffs.
  14. She palmed her face like a volley ball.
  15. Indeed, she and Nick were a great match. But I would love some Angie, "Lorraine!? Girrrl, just when I thought I was rid of your ass..."
  16. She'd still make for a great Jesse/Angie third wheel on Children.
  17. Richard was a good character, though I never bought him as Syddy and Nick's kid.
  18. It seems that they had the transgendered s/l planned all along because I remember reading the character breakdown in SOD before the show premiered, and they talked about her "mysterious past". I honestly don't remember anything exciting about the character. I do remember seeing the denouement episode with her and Bernardo and even that fell flat.
  19. You are so welcome! Admittedly, I've been a little self-conscious about these episodes I've posted because it never seems like much is going on. I've wondered if I just fell under the spell of this show's look and concept. My jaw drops looking at the utter size of those loft sets. I think they had a very nice ensemble of actors, but the show needed a jolt. One doesn't really feel the pulse of "the city" while watching. I recall a very early scene, maybe the first episode I caught actually, where I guess Nick had pulled open Sydney's blouse and they were in a close embrace, Morgan's ample bosom heaving in her bra. I thought that was so hot and exciting and the rest of the episode had a beat and a fire too it. But all too often, the show feels like a cold Manhattan morning, around 10am when I'm still sort of sleepy and cranky because the coffee hasn't kicked in yet.
  20. Yes, that upbeat, electric guitar-synth version came after this smooth jazz version. Personally, I loved the smooth jazz version but I tend to enjoy slow, sexy takes on classic themes (Knots season 8, AW Summer and Desire). SOD praised GL for bringing back a more upbeat version, but it totally sucked, imo. The original HOTL was perfect, it didn't need to be changed to begin with.
  21. I loved the first Central Park West promo I ever saw. It was simply the cast preening for the camera while that great old song "Sleepwalk" played.
  22. Biracial Lucy is my default type, but I developed such a crush on Caitlin (no pedo), wow. After watching the original series, I had such a newfound appreciation for all of the crushing and gushing Kevin Smith does in the TNG episodes which is based on his real-life love of the series and Caitlin. I wouldn't say that it's necessary for you to dip all the way back to The Kids of Degrassi Street. I probably won't watch that again until I have children of my own, but you're a teacher and if I was teaching elementary-aged kids, I would totally work it into the curriculum. But you must watch Degrassi Junior and Senor high just to fortify your appreciation for the franchise. We own the series on Roku and I would totally watch it again but I should get caught up on these new episodes first.
  23. No offense if it's somebody's loved one's name, but I just do not like the name "Manny". It makes me think of Mayonaisse (which makes me nauseous) and totally takes me out of the story.
  24. Which one was which? Who was the Greek one with curly hair? Not gonna lie. I loved Marco's final spot in the opening credits when he turned around and put on the hoodie. I wish that was me in some opening credits.
  25. No and I wish I did! Someone edited out all of the Susan parts and just left the Joan portion except for a funny little bit at the end. I don't know if it's still on YouTube or not. That and the Bloopers and Practical Jokes episode are the two vintage Susan clips I really want to see.
