All My Children Tribute Thread
I really enjoyed the Billy Clyde/Emily Ann/Donna/Benny stuff when it aired. A lot of it must have played out during the summer because I recall watching at my grandparents' house, where lunch=AMC. At my age, this was my intro to BC and my mom filled me in on the Estelle backstory. Donna, Benny, and Emily Ann lived in an apartment which for some reason seemed unique to me back then.

HBO's Looking
I missed the first episodes of both Looking and Girls (where Marnie got rimmed standing at the kitchen sink, Jesus be a DVR), which I find ironic seeing as how I watched the second episodes at least three times each on Sunday night with HBO playing them over and over again. They should devote at least one of those slots to the previous week's episodes. I also liked that other new series, the name escapes me at the moment.

Unsung
Up early watching my obligatory Good Times marathon, and I just saw the promo for this season's Unsung: Hollywood. Not that I don't appreciate the chance to learn more, but on what planet (certainly not this one) are A Different World and Redd m'erf'ing Foxx "unsung"? They're also doing Cheryl Underwood which I oddly appreciate because I remember her scattered stand-up appearances on TV over the years. "Oh I'll suck a d!¢%. Datz why my teeth all crooked."

Bill Cosby
I feel for anyone associated with Cosby because this topic is unavoidable for the foreseeable future. I know from personal experience how hard it is to accept that someone you love may have done the unthinkable and it can be torturous embracing the truth while feeling a sense of loyalty... to the person "you know". I'm having trouble with that, "the so-and-so I know." What does that even mean really, how does that even matter? "Well, the Hitler *I* know...", if I'm being extreme. I'd just as soon say, "It's just an awful situation all around, and I'd rather not talk about it." That said, Malcolm handled that very well.

The View
I flipped by and saw that there were TWO men on the panel today, Mario Cantone and some guy I don't know.

The View
My friend, Amanda Seales, is co-hosting on the 26th, and quite frankly, she'd be an excellent permanent host. She's intelligent, funny, passionately opinionated, and she kisses zero ass. She's the sort of feisty presence who is guaranteed to give the show those heated viral incidents they live for.

MeTV
There was a short-lived retro network in the late nineties, wish I could remember the name of it. It was also on regular TV, some obscure numbered channel on the dial. Shows they aired included Private Secretary/Suzy, The Mothers in Law, and Life with Elizabeth.

ALL: Soap Stars - Where are they now?
To be fair, it's a lot more feasible to be in school and do a primetime guest spot here and there rather than being contracted to a soap. Same goes for film depending on the size of his part. But yeah, I doubt education is his top priority right now nor should it be.

HBO's Looking
I had marked on the calendar that Looking and Girls were premiering Sunday the first (1/1). Well as you know, the first was a [!@#$%^&*] Thursday and today is the fourth. My blind double-visioned ass...

Amazing what a pop culture phenomenon Dynasty became beyond that pilot.

Bill Cosby
Oh dear. So he can't even pretend to have onscreen chemistry with his make-believe TV wife post-pregnancy? Wonder how the wife of his five children feels about that. What a weird comment so awkwardly worded. I'm sure he was just trying to be funny and irreverent about a man "messing" things up by creating a beloved child with his wife, but never again can Cosby say anything about a woman without sounding highly suspect.

Same here, I just can't do it right now, but I will eventually. I know a lot of people felt the same way about Dick Clark. But I agree with the late Roger Ebert that we shouldn't hide away our sick and disabled just because we are uncomfortable. It warms my heart that she is still filled with such light. I'm more surprised that news of her condition didn't make it to the soap press by one way or the other because I refuse to believe that those leeches could keep anything to themselves out of respect.

She had a nice little run doing Ford commercials, she even had one with Liza. Kind of an unexpected product/personality pairing, you'd expect to see her with a sleek luxury brand or some sort of tongue-in-cheek glam campaign for a cheaper model. When have we ever seen her dressed like she is in this advert? I remember reading that Susan drove a Ford Explorer thanks to her work on these ads. She must like big trucks like she likes big houses... last thing I saw her driving was a Range Rover. Years ago she said her dream car is a black Ferrari. Wonder if she ever got one.

Texas! Discussion Thread
Does anyone know whose idea it was to spin Iris off to TX? I'm sure many of us know that the original plan was an antebellum New Orleans period soap called Reunion. Was Paul Rauch already set to EP that? I wonder if it was his idea or the network's to have Beverlee McKinsey headline TX when NBC nixed the Reunion concept.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
I can't find a picture on Google, are Sony and Wiki kin to Nene or are they her husband's people? Not sure if Leaks is her married name.

Knots Landing
Lilimae wasn't killed off. Written out, but not killed off.

Bill Cosby
Wow, I always assumed that degree was honorary. Well, in either case, no work done on his part.

Knots Landing
Another thing I've been meaning to upload, not sure if it's already on YouTube. When it aired, CBS advertised VHS copies for sale, there are probably some nice collector's tapes floating around out there. Antenna TV posted about Knots on their Facebook page just today with the original TV Guide ad. They're such a tease, often making soap posts but never airing any.

ALL: Soap Stars - Where are they now?
One degree of soap star separation, but Alicia Minshew's husband and co-owner of Manhattan's Prohibition bar, Richie Herschenfeld, is in the episode of Barmageddon airing now on Tru TV.

Lol at "sharted it up." They definitely retained the painted brick wall and fireplace and some of the furnishings. They replaced some of the slipcovers that The City used to redecorate Sydney's apartment to suit Tracy's taste. I'm surprised The City even bothered, the show had less than a month to go, IIRC.

ALL: Temporary Replacements
How many days did she do originally because she was wearing this outfit in the other clips I've seen. I believe she was brought back to temp on a later occasion as well. I seem to remember her saying that this is where AW noticed her and she was brought in to read for Felicia before they created Donna for her. As much as I love Linda and Louise, I would have loved to have seen Jane as Felicia and Augusta. I suppose it's easy enough to imagine.
