Bill Cosby
Yes Carl, I went white as a sheet several hours ago when I visited that site totally non-related to the topic at hand and saw that piece about Carla. That's when this scandal became uncomfortably personal. Without going into too much detail/sacrificing my anonymity, one of the Ferrigno children was a close friend of mine when we were in school and I have met Lou and Carla on a few occasions when they'd visit. Their child, my friend, is zero bullsh!t and that's all from mama Carla. I'm too embarrassed to ask her anything directly, and they've made no Facebook statement as far as I've noticed, but if Carla said it, I believe it.

Bill Cosby
A FB friend shared this awkward exchange (if you can even call it that) the other day: http://www.npr.org/blogs/thetwo-way/2014/11/15/364297097/in-npr-interview-bill-cosby-declines-to-discuss-assault-allegations?utm_source=facebook.com&utm_medium=social&utm_campaign=npr&utm_term=nprnews&utm_content=2040 My local FOX news keeps airing a segment from today's Wendy Williams Show where she recalls a twenty four year old incident from her radio days. She brought up an Enquirer interview of one of Cosby's accusers in a "hot topics"-type segment and Cosby got word and promptly called the station. Wendy's GM came at her "like a furious pitbull" and they stood in his office as Cosby on speakerphone, "(Called Wendy) everything but a child of God", says Wendy.

Did the reporter ask Janice a follow-up question about the pill? Janice was heavy into drugs back then, but I still assume she'd ask what she was taking. I mean, did he lie and say it was a qualude, or...?

Bill Cosby
I can't help but wonder how different public reaction might be if a man came forward, an old buddy who said, "Bill was famous for doing this." Of course his "motives" would be questioned, but I think a lot of doubters would reconsider. One hopes a man wouldn't do such things, one hopes several women wouldn't lie. But at heart, we hope the man is telling the truth because it's fundamentally worse to be a serial rapist than a liar. Just sad all around.

Ha! That's funny. He has cut the dreads. And thanks, I'll come back to report.

ALL: Soap Stars - Where are they now?
I never really watched ATWT so I didn't recognize him for his soap work until reading his bio in.the program, but tonight I saw Tom Wiggin's terrific leading performance in Tony Kushner's The Intelligent Homosexual's Guide To Capitalism And Socialism With A Key To The Scriptures at Theater J in Washington. It's a long play, almost four hours, two intermissions, but well worth it. Later this month I'll be seeing Tim Stickney who is also in town for As You Like It at The Shakespeare Theatre.

When I started watching OLTL again, KW was in the role and Cord had just returned (correct me if I'm remembering incorrectly), having been presumed dead and was experiencing memory loss. He assumed he and Tina were still together but she'd moved on with Cain and as delicately as possible for Tina resisted his advances. It was weird watching Tina not want Cord.

Dude's a real hater. Certainly, he was trying to make her look like a vain, vapid aging starlet by using this picture, but I think it's fabulous.

ALL: Soap Stars - Where are they now?
Oprah's done an admirable job of profiling actors from the soap world on her Where Are They Now? program. I just watched the repeat of Maurice Benard's interview. It was a little annoying that back in '04 Oprah is narrating about him joining GH while they show several pictures of him as Nico with Lauren Holly's Julie from AMC. And just the other day, I finally caught the full interview of Joan Van Ark and Donna Mills. I can hardly believe these women are in their seventies, and that has nothing to do with plastic surgery, just that time flies.

ALL: Soap Stars - Where are they now?
Excellent summation. You know, I loved the George and Alana show, it should have lasted longer. I was so taken by bachelor George's stories, his posh apartment (I think he was still living in Sierra Towers at the time) and Rolls Royce. He and Alana had great chemistry. And if I must grow gray, I want to just like George.

The Politics Thread
My great uncle was a delegate in Prince George's County. While a democrat, he and many of his friends in P.G. and up in Annapolis were essentially Dixiecrats... old, white, and more than a little bit racist. With his bad octogenarian knees, he hopped into his S-class Mercedes and quipped that he had to make it to the polls to cancel out his daughter's Obama vote. I know we're historically blue, but being a MoCo resident living in a D.C. burb surrounded by open minded liberals, I think it's easy to be out of touch with the true mindset of the collective state. I bet there are a lot of people who think like my uncle, and who are unfortunately a fraction of his age.

George Hamilton and Morgan Fairchild will be profiled on Oprah's Where Are They Now? Sunday coming.

HBO's Looking
Yeah, I was watching HBO the other night and they flashed a quick promo with the text, "Looking season 2 now in production".

HBO's Looking
Ha, of course not! It's like Captain Planet, "We got one of each, folks!" I'm all for representation, and maybe Looking will handle it in a way that is organic and less obvious. That said, I wish soaps that boast casts into the thirties would make the effort towards such thorough minority representation.

LOL at John James and Nolan. I love Nolan's archive interview, he could be a catty bitch and I imagine an absolute joy to hang out with, he probably had the best stories. R.I.P., how could you ever do a Dynasty reboot without him? Bob Mackie, I suppose. I've seen that infamous Peppard rant on Password. Poor Alan Ludden looked like he wanted to crawl out of his skin and wring Peppard's neck at the same time.

Yes, Antenna TV still airs Bachelor Father, a show I've grown to love. That Sammee Tong is hilarious. Weird I guess, but JF looks very average to me on BF, he looks a lot more "dashing" with the grey hair as Blake. Geesh, can you imagine what George Peppard would have thought of Joan Collins!? He would have [!@#$%^&*] a purple turd watching her meteoric rise and dealing with her diva ways.

HBO's Looking
A couple of weeks ago, I saw a casting notice for a paraplegic gay character on the show (an actor really in a wheelchair), so it looks like they really are trying to get all of the bases covered.

K-Pop Appeciation Thread
I saw a commercial today that made me think of Cheap and the other K-Pop lovers here at SON (sorry if it's old news)... There's a show devoted to K-Pop called DFLA airing Thursday nights on the MNet channel. I don't know if you all get that station, but I had to laugh as it was a commercial sponsored by Fios and Cheap was asking about switching to their service a few months ago. At any rate, thought I'd share!

I read about that in the Washington Post the other day. They described her character as an Oprah-Barbara hybrid.

This is the LG era I was referring to. Could easily be an Alexis/Krystle/Blake scenario.

I don't know their age difference, if any, but I can hardly picture JEH as Dex. I think MN was perfectly cast. JEH would have been a great Miles, as others have said, or I could see him in the Ted McGinley role or as one of Steven's lovers, but especially as a love interest for Sammy-Jo. He'd be time enough for her, sensitive yet strong.

Primetime Soaps
A great cast but a real snooze too often. With the proper writing, Patrick O'Neil's Harlan could have been as memorable as J.R., a really charming and charismatic scoundrel. Sela Ward and Jill St. John were also underutilized. Two potentially fabulous primetime soap bitches that were underwritten.
