  1. Maybe I'm making too much of this, but why mention that the dude is redheaded? Seems oddly fetishist to me. "We gotta Latin, we gotta black, we gotta trans, we gotta ginger..."
  2. In that Michael Logan interview, she seemed genuinely hurt that she didn't receive a nomination for her last year of work on GL.
  3. Yeah, I believe they met when Nolan was still working as a florist. He mentioned to Aaron that he was capable of doing costumes if he ever needed him and Aaron remembered him. Nolan was also close with Aaron's first wife, Carolyn Jones, and was interviewed for her A&E Biography. Nolan designed Morticia's iconic octopus dress. Someone really should do a coffee table book of his designs, I love to look at his sketches.
  4. Really? For years, that cover always seems to pop up whenever I've done a BM search. I must say though, that's the clearest picture of it that I've ever seen. Her skin is like porcelain. I once read a fan encounter, someone who sat next to her on a flight, and they said the very same. Whenever I see that BM/VW cover, I think, "This must have been the year that Annie Hall came out."

That cracks me up, how mortifying. You'd think most people would check their compacts when being interviewed on camera. I doubt they'd cover anything I haven't already heard, but Jennifer Holliday is coming to town which has me thinking about her for this show again. Perfect. And I'd be really curious to hear her friends and colleagues chime in because we mostly hear her story only from her point of view.
  6. She said in an interview that she was apprehensive about taking that part, as though it were a betrayal to Capitol.

    LMAO, my thoughts exactly.
  8. Ooop!
  9. Interesting. I always wonder how restrictive contracts are in these situations. On a gossipy note, this show came up in conversation in the dressing room of the play I'm currently doing. My friend/cast mate says he refuses to watch the show because he dated FA's sister and says he was a total douche.
  10. With Scott Bakula starring in his own series on CBS, I guess his character won't be back? I wonder how they'll write him out.
  11. Joan and Susan were friends for years, Joan sometimes even being a source in articles written about Susan. I have an old Regis and KL interview of Susan where she's wearing and promotes a piece from Joan's line of costume jewelry.
  12. http://youtu.be/MIrZRclV8V4
  13. This was also the debut of the newly remodeled Linden House, and more famously, Susan's nose (and face, and neck) management. She'd been off the show for weeks and I always wondered if she'd had a planned vacation, or if they gave her time off when Frances Heflin passed, or a mix of both. Erica coming down the stairs was actually the cliffhanger of the previous episode. They did tight shots of her hand gripping the railing and she sat at the foot of the staircase in eerie silence. Previous scenes were her at the airport heading home.
  14. The book Soap World by Robert LaGuardia had three or four pictures of Gillian. I guess the pictures of her with Victor and Steve are pretty well known, you probably know the ones I'm referring to. I can't remember where I saw it, maybe it was an article posted by Carl, but there's a photo of her as Niki out there. If you're ever in New York, visit the Paley Center and watch the episode from '68/'69 that she's featured in.
  15. They didn't go for the second L, but yes, I remember her saying that on Entertainment Tonight when the Buchanan men guest starred in her fantasy episode.
  16. EH is great playing Diane Keaton's mom in The First Wives Club. Her son wrote an autobiography that I've read portions of, his mom was a trip.
  17. In the last Actors Equity newsletter, it was reported that Kim Zimmer (who was touring in Wicked) performed a humorous musical number about touring actors ("gypsies") at a fairly recent benefit.
  18. Ha! Let me clarify: I am glad that a scripted series, a soap at that, with a predominantly black cast, shot in Georgia... exists. That's a great start. But obviously, the show needs work.
  19. And to your point Chit, when the created, produced, written, directed, colored, crocheted by credit came up, it told me everything I needed to know and I so agree that it shows in the writing. This could be such an amazing opportunity for a brilliant soap writing mind.
  20. Wow, I thought the exact same thing! When the mom and Wyatt stepped out the front door, I still wasn't totally convinced it was real! I am in such agreement, those long establishing shots, people making lengthy entrances, cars pulling up, that is all the kind of stuff AW did to fill the 90 minutes. I can't shake it, that scene with the girl and Tika's character over the phone was just the most bizarre thing. The way she was acting. I was like, "What am I watching right now... and wait, this isn't something I stumbled upon on public access, there are hundreds thousands of people watching along with me." By the way, is she really the maid's daughter, because she looks Latina.
  21. Good Lord. It reminded me of a local soap from the '80s, like The Catlins or Another Life. Particularly the white mother. I didn't realize that was Adrian B. from Passions. I thought that was really bold and unprofessional for that guy (who for a hot second I thought was the doctor from DOOL who was stripping on the side) to ask him if he was into older dudes when he was staring at Bo Duke. A few months ago, my cousin was watching the after show they do, I could hear it from the other room, and a woman was giving an impassioned blood of Jesus/by His stripes my son is healed speech. I put two and two together and put a face to the voice while watching on Sunday. She seems like a good actress from what I saw. Don't get me wrong, I am very glad that this show exists. It could just use a little more pep. I think it should only be 30 minutes. It would be more energized that way. The drawn out dialogue reminded me of 90 minute episodes of Another World that I've seen.
  22. Caught this show for the first time the other day. Are the scenes always so long and repetitive? When that weird as hell girl (That scene with Tika on the phone!? Is the girl on drugs?) ran off with sketchy dude, the brother and mother asked the maid how could she let her leave no less than twenty times.
  23. Cheap is correct, I didn't mean to alarm anyone about Becky! That was her name, right? "Can I axe you a question? Where da HELL did your accent go!?" Did you all see Gitte on OWN's Where are They Now? talking about how those shows with Foofie-Foofie were bad for her career? Career, tho? She's still with that same dude. I'm cracking up right now remembering that shot of her walking down the aisle in the wedding chapel for the previews of the next week's episode. We were all like, "Ohhhh God..." And of course Flav pouring one out for her on the runway as she flew off, hahahahahaha...
  24. By the way, what made me think of it was seeing Tami from The Real World season 2 on Extant. Tami, an actress working opposite Halle Berry, Lord help...
  25. So funny to see this thread bumped as just the other day I was going to ask you guys if there were any shows like this running on VH1 this summer. I'm in the mood for mindless, fun, OTT trash. I'm still sad about the Buckwild tragedy.
