Not sure if this is a repeat or when it'll be repeated, but there's a program featuring several of Cosby's accusers airing on A&E right now.

It escapes me how Barbara, or anyone else for that matter, thinks that her return would save the show. Were people watching for Barbara? I could hardly wait for her to kick dust. How do the ratings compare between The View, The Talk, The Real, and Wendy Williams?

Not even shade, that sh!t was direct sunlight!
  4. Odd. Reminds me of how the old soap magazines and books had a field day with names like Viki/Vikki/Vicky/Vicki/Viqqie...
  5. They spelled Dillon (as in Trevor) wrong in that promo.
  6. I'm disappointed that I missed today's episodes. I caught the very end of the second one, That Holiday Spirit, where Daniel (Rock Hudson) is introduced.
  7. Pop cut the audio when Dex called Steven a "sniveling f@g". Did SoapNet used to do that?
  8. DaytimeFan, have you watched DJC's sessions with Ruby Wax on YouTube? They're fantastic, our Joan at her most candid.

Quoted: When she saw him again on another flight a year later, he allegedly asked if she was going to report him. “You are Bill Cosby,” she said she told him. “Who’s going to believe me?” Not that I don't believe her, but something about this exchange just doesn't feel right to me.
  10. I still need to go. It seems like such a trek uptown, though, and I dunno how much you need to pay or whatever. It's ten bucks now, used to be four with my student i.d. Go on a rainy day, you'll enjoy it. Browse their catalogue online so you have your four show selections in mind before you get their. Carl, are you springing for this sucker? Looks very nice.

I thought Rosie's last day was the day she made the announcement that she was leaving. When Kelly O. made that toilet comment it was like all the air in the room got sucked out, you could hear a pin drop.
  12. Not from neighbors, she loves neighbors because they'll probably hear "the killer" as she'd say. She felt more secure being in a building where intruders wouldn't have such easy access, she said she could never live on a secluded estate. Her new house is in an affluent neighborhood where the homes are close enough together by the looks of it.
  13. Yeah, I wonder how many of her newer fans know about radio Wendy or have read her autobiographies. I saw clips of her Vegas show, that's more radio Wendy, but only the tip of the iceberg, really. There's probably very little left to be put out about her, save for BTS dish about the goings on at her TV show or indeed, any more recent domestic situations that she hasn't shared with the public. But the worst of the worst, we probably know about already. I just started watching her again recently, and I was surprised to learn that she finally bought a house. I wonder if it was for income/tax purposes. She always praised the privacy and the security of condo living. Her son is growing up so fast!
  14. I used to visit Paley quite regularly when I lived in New York. I watched that '68 episode one afternoon, it was almost surreal,,, faces in roles you'd read about and could only imagine for years, suddenly right there before your eyes.

He is far less clever than he aspires to be. It is rather funny watching it with the closed captioning on.

I'm from the DMV and my brother was in a Go-go band, so I don't know if this made national news... but do any of you remember the Rare Essence pool party video controversy? There was an amateur video doing the rounds, Go-go blaring, crowded pool, dancing girls shaking their stuff and pulling their bikini bottoms aside to be penetrated with drumsticks (wooden, not chicken) and assorted objects, it was... wow... That put a huge blemish on the Go-go subculture for many in the area, particularly for the uninitiated who didn't comprehend that this was not the norm. AMS, was it the BET or Essence awards a few years back that Frankie Beverly and Maze got a splashy tribute? I forget, but it was nice to see them recognized and of course everyone in the audience was singing along. #cookoutmusic
  17. My mom would get so tickled with Angela getting fed up with, "Emma!" It's been fun catching Dynasty weekday mornings at 11 on Pop. I wish some network would air Falcon Crest.

Bill's become another Rev. James Cleveland in my book. I'm perfectly capable of separating the man from the music so to speak, and while I'm content with that, at times I do judge myself for not having a strong aversion to everything associated with these men. I'd be lying if I said that I'll never seek out The Cosby Show and Fat Albert dvds, just as I'll go on listening to Peace Be Still and Jesus Is The Best Thing That Ever Happened To Me. Perhaps it's a character flaw of mine, but I find it easy to compartmentalize people.

I think that once Bill and Camille are gone, it'll only be a matter of months before at least one of the daughters gives us a book and related primetime interview. Meanwhile, I wouldn't be surprised if Bill's will contains codicils re: "defamatory statements" made by his heiresses.
  21. Gillian Spencer looks particularly beautiful here.

I get off at the U St. Metro station right across the street from Ben's for work, and of course it's a major overrated, often packed landmark. I was just thinking earlier today when someone shared this on Facebook, what if some hipster got the drunken courage to vandalize the mural on a typical booze-soaked U St. Saturday night? He would summarily get the living [!@#$%^&*] beat out of him. Locals won't have Ben's disrespected regardless of their opinions of Cosby. The mural is essentially a bad tattoo at this point. Probably best to cover it up before it attracts such an incident. I think it's very sad that what was such a positive, locally legendary association has been tainted.

My school had that poster too, wow, that just took me back. Ever notice how she seems to go out of her way not to laugh at other comedians' (panelists, guests) jokes? She only ever guffaws at guests "on or above" her level. Precisely!
