  1. Maybe she's still mad that they made her work twice as long as she was gone making THE PRINCESS BRIDE to make up for her "absence".
  2. O Oct. 25, 1990 Jake raped Marley after she asked him for a divorce. He said she loved him & he would show her. She fought him off but he overpowered her. Later, Jake had been shot. AW Halloween costumes In case you have any interest ...
  3. Elsewhere I ran a poll about the threesome with options to vote: the 3 became good friends with benefits, without benefits, that Chanel decided it only happened because Allie was insecure about her happiness, that Allie decided it was all in her head, a few other things but without options for pregnancies. Okay, 124 votes with a whopping 62% voting that Chanel realizes that this only happened because Allie is insecure about whether she is making Chanel happy. We found out yesterday that the girls have agreed that this was a ONE TIME ONLY event & they happily agree to that! And, I closed the poll, satisfied. And, is this because we heard about Henry sleeping over at Nicole's one night per week? We also heard that Allie was distressed that Ava left town without saying goodbye to her grandson, Henry. Is that not even 1 + point and 1 - point for a tie? When Allie was expressing concern about having company on the couch again she noted that this is in her apartment *where she lives with her son*? It's a big wide soap world & there are plenty of people who think Allie is a good person! And the rules they follow about Henry are certainly on par with how much most soap children are actually seen except that for his first years of life he was constantly in his pram *right there* where everyone was.
  4. Me, I eat it up with a spoon! Today we have Sloan with an E in Petersen. Yesterday we had a forgetting serum called CRS-17 when famously CRS stands for "Can't Remember Sh*t!"
  5. Just saw on IG ... they've cast a new little girl to be Ari. I wonder what they have planned for that family unit.
  6. 9 perfect little nuggets of Leslie Jordan
  7. James Lipton's book INSIDE INSIDE is about INSIDE THE ACTOR'S STUDIO but one chapter is all about soaps & soap people. (Chapter Eight) Meg Ryan talked about how her character had ALL THESE NAMES & remembering them & Lipton seemed to think she found it interesting & yes, that it tracked all of her marriages, etc. (I recall there being many!) So maybe he didn't get her meaning, LOL. When you get down to James Lipton, as a soap writer, he was a great emcee & host of THE ACTORS' STUDIO. And for that reason, it's a good book. They tell a great anecdote about him when he was HW of some show where the locale was far inland midwestern metro area & he wanted to have a hurricane on Main Street & they had a fine time explaining to him why it had better be a tornado.
  8. I hope this is an okay place to post this.
  9. I'm seeing people who are getting upset that Rolf doped Gabi. It was a gag. The serum was CRS-16 or maybe 17 but anyway, CRS, ya know, stands for Can't Remember [!@#$%^&*]! It's just like the "No Memory" drug on TORCHWOOD, etc. It's not like the toxin. Which I still think is a Covid analogy.
  10. Just saw him singing "Delta Dawn" with Brandi Carlisle on twitter. I'm just so sad.
  11. DOOL Tues. 10-25-22 Cast: Stephanie, Chad, Allie, Chanel, Sonny, Alex, Leo, Sloane, Paulina, Abe, Johnny, Maggie, Sonny Today is a good Sonny day. Such a good actor! Stephanie is on the phone with Paulina. Chanel & Allie are talking about Henry having a sleepover with Nicole & Holly & what they're going to do with their free night. Together. Allie suggests calling Alex. Chanel doesn't like the idea cause she thinks she's talking about another threesome. Allie assures her that they are 1000% on the same page that that was a one time thing ONLY! Chanel is pleased but seems distracted. Allie was just talking about having drinks out. Chanel says she'd rather just stay home, doesn't feel like going out. Allie asks her if everything is okay & she admits that it is not. There's a knock at the door & it's Johnny. He needs a favor - can Wendy stay on their couch for a few nights till she can get some money together for a room? They agree to it & Johnny hugs Allie & calls her an angel. As soon as he's gone, Allie gets back to Chanel needing to say something but before she can, their part of the show is over. We are left hanging. (They found out about Ava & Allie was distressed that she left town without saying goodbye to her grandson, Henry.) Sonny is unhappy because Will cannot come to visit as planned because of rewrites. Alex has a hot date with Sloane. He moans & groans about falling for Stephanie & her not being into him, being into Chad. He says he's going back to having as much "no strings attached" sex as possible! Sonny kinda gags. Leo is giving out cookies for Paulina dressed as a patriotic donkey. Sloane pressures Paulina for the money! Sloane also pressures Leo for the money he owes her. (She represented him the last time he needed an attorney. But he's busted. No bucks.) Abe is worried that the Sloane person is gonna bring up Lani being in prison. Abe also tells Paulina that if she wins governor he will quit as Mayor & move to the state capital with her. She asks what she ever did to deserve a man as fine as Abe. Sloane on the phone to Stephanie pressures her for the money from Paulina! (Sloane is all over everything!) Chad offers his trust fund. Stephanie comes up with a master plan. Her dad & John had done some work for the DEA with counterfeit money involved & they still have the fake Benjamins. She'll get them & they can give them to Sloane. She'll break into Sloane's place & find the originals that are over Paulina's head. Maggie & Sonny share some pizza & talk & she suggests to him that he & Will need to meet halfway. He asks her if she ever wishes Victor put her first more. They had a nice moment. Sonny says he & Will simply CANNOT break up again. Leo ends up at Paulina's place, picking up a check for his work giving out cookies. He loves her couture shoes. She gives him a job as her local asst. Sonny calls Will & asks him if he has time for them to talk. Sloane (with an E, we learned from Leo) & Alex are about to have sex when she gets a call to come to the pub to pick up the hush money. She wants Alex to stay & wait for her, so she handcuffs him to the bed. She leaves. Chad is at the pub with the suitcase full of junk money. Stephanie uses a set of lockpicks to break into Sloane's room. (She has told us she's Patch's daughter!) When she goes in the room, she & Alex both scream! What the hell are YOU doing here? Show's over.
  12. Yes! It is a nightgown & robe combo & that is her room, looks like a hotel.
  13. Okay. I am now officially giving up my search to find the Davies article. Before I leave you, here's one more little bit about it. https://www.digitalspy.com/soaps/a581837/russell-t-davies-on-future-of-soaps-they-may-not-exist-in-10-years/ The former Doctor Who writer said that he thinks soaps are in "trouble", because of the significant decrease in ratings since the 1980s. Whereas EastEnders and Coronation Street attracted viewers in excess of 20 million viewers in the '80s, the average for all soaps is now below 10 million. Davies told Attitude: "I think the soaps are in trouble and need to be careful. You can see a television landscape in 10 years' time where they won't exist or will be reduced." He also expressed concern for the representation of the gay community on television if soaps die out, saying: "Without the soaps, gay visibility on TV will plummet." He's always been about gay visibility and inclusion. Of course gays & the soaps is another way the US & the UK versions differ.
  14. Following this thread right now has put me in the mood of thinking about a passage in an interview & maybe you'd enjoy reading it, or re-reading it as the case may be. I believe it is some part of a 6 part interview, which is named My Exclusive Interview with BRIDGET DOBSON and can be found at http://pierin26santabarbara.blogspot.com (as far as I know the link is good) One of the offers that came within a few days of our new “retirement” was stunning: NBC-TV called to ask if we were to own a show, if we were to be in complete charge of every creative aspect of a show, from sets and costumes and hairstyles and music to every minute detail of the production, acting and writing, would we be willing to work again? Nobody in history had ever been asked this question. Not before and not since. We were being offered total creative control of an hour a day television drama five days a week. We were floored. And enticed. And terrified. It had never been attempted and never achieved, not starting from zero - nothing - a blank page - to an hour a day, every day, five days per week, no seasons, no holidays, no respite...with total control in the hands of two individuals, not in the hands of a corporation or a network. So it was that Jerry and I came out of retirement and climbed what seemed to be an extremely steep creative mountain, clinging to sheer granite, our pen was our pick, no path, no trail, no rope or safety net. We'd done our writing push-ups in the years leading up to this moment, but there was no way to properly prepare. What if we died? Nobody even thought of that.
  15. 3 different outfits. So, more than one day?
  16. Isn't very good! You have such nice manners. being so polite and not saying that she stinks up the place! Oops, I said it. But since she is sorta new, I can hope she is only here for the short term.
  17. Is that Sloan? Why couldn't we trade, even steven, Tripp for Sloan?! Who's with me?
  18. That's what I was thinking! I asked her where she gets her spoilers. She googles "2 weeks DOOL spoilers". I think I would be leery of URLs & URLs of spoilers from who knows where! I wonder if Ron is a fan of A MIDSUMMER NIGHT'S DREAM!
  19. From the Russell Davies item: In a new interview with Attitude, he has claimed that they might not even be around 10 years from now. And, if he's right, that would be a terrible shame. OMG, 2024. In the US, a soap is something you watch to see the glamorous lives of beautiful millionaires who all have evil twins and dastardly surgeons. Here, though, our soaps are about miserable grey blobs in horrible anoraks who stand around in the drizzle being depressed all the time, and we lap it up because really we're watching ourselves. That & time of day & support from the royals, etc. are probably the big differences. I hope Davies is wrong about soaps. But if he isn't, at least we're guaranteed one final treat. There is nothing more ridiculous than a soap's final episode. Because, as continuous dramas, soaps tend to be especially – and entertainingly – awful at endings. Oh, crapola. THIS was not the article, Instead it was someone else's article about the fact that Davies has done the article in ATTITUDE. Well, there goes 15 minutes I'll never get back!
  20. Is this it? https://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-radio/tvandradioblog/2014/jul/03/soaps-in-danger-russell-t-davies-warns Never mind. Now I can't find the blog address.
  21. i love & adore Allie! I don't find her bland. I certainly don't find her insufferable! Cute, fun, a good person, insecure, authentic, real, and she's kind of an Everready bunny! She just keeps on ticking.
  22. I was so pleased that Nicole looked good today! And I would give anything for Kristen to be taken down a peg or two.
  23. They just got married! And, they just got engaged! Suddenly she's going to live AND she's on her honeymoon! What else? Disneyland?
