  1. This idiot...
  2. Right? Her sitting up there talking about "sisterhood?" Ugh. Just stahp.
  3. Going back to Hirono's comment that men should shut up and stand up, I know what she meant but framing this as men vs. women ignores how many men are victims of sexual abuse too. Look at Jim Jordan who turned a blind eye to hundreds of abused men at OSU. When we make this about men vs women we lump male victims in with their victimizers.
  4. That's the Narcissistic Personality Disorder. He can't admit he was wrong. The only way Kavanaugh is out is if he chooses to withdraw.
  5. Let's get clear here. Nobody's jumping to Ellison's defense. This isn't about there being no proof. This is about the accuser saying she has proof and refusing to produce it. Most women don't have that option. There's no proof about Kavanaugh because is incident happened decades ago but even then we have her therapist's notes and remarks that she's made to loved ones over the years. These two situations are not remotely comparable. I'm just trying to figure out if your insistence that they are is ignorance or trolling. I actually think it will be worse. Back then the GOP tried to pretend they were decent people. Now they've fully embraced cruelty and deviance.
  6. That's some epic whataboutism. Ellison's accuser claims she has a video of him assaulting her but she refuses to produce it. Do you know how many women out there wish they had incontrovertible proof of what happened to them? That doesn't make any sense but it brings up a good point. There are plenty of conservative judges out there without all the baggage of Kavanaugh but they want this one because of Trump.
  7. Tiny hands. Big neck.
  8. He hasn't been discharged. He's been removed from the rescue effort and they've started an investigation. There's a whole long process before he gets kicked out, assuming he does.
  9. The thing I love most about the Manafort deal is the asset forfeiture. Mueller's investigation just paid for itself. In fact it can fund itself well into 2019 and that's just from Manafort. Once they start going after the Trump/Kushner crowd this thing with make a pretty nifty profit.
  10. If Trump pardons Manafort then he gets hit with state charges and the fact that he accepted the pardon will be used as evidence against him. He also loses Fifth Amendment protection which means he has to answer all questions about Trump honestly or get hit with perjury charges so he ends up in jail anyway. Or worse they extradite him to the Ukraine which would be a death sentence.
  11. Given the recent polling, I'm cautiously optimistic about November. Trump's polling with independents has gone into the toilet. It started happening after the Manafort conviction and Cohen guilty pleas and the Nat'l Enquirer guy flipping. That's when reality-based people had to face up to the fact that this isn't a witch hunt. Then came Trump's shameful behavior after McCain's death. I expect to see another drop in the next round of polls thanks to his embarrassing behavior yesterday and what will no doubt be a disgusting response to this upcoming hurricane. The hardcore MAGAts don't care but the people who voted for him "shake things up" didn't mean disrespecting a POW and doing a fist pump at 9/11. The real issue with a Trump for these people is that he's exhausting and it's no longer worth the trouble of trying to defend him. Those people may not vote Democrat but we might be able to keep them depressed enough to stay home in November.
  12. I agree that Obama has become a global figure. Much like MLK, Cesar Chavez, Gandhi, Mandela, Clinton, and Carter. These were all men (yes, men because men had the power) who came up from humble beginnings, They were flawed and imperfect but they did their best to leave the world a better place than they found it.
  13. The murder mystery atmosphere around the op-ed is a perfect example of what's gone so terribly wrong with the country. Once again we're back to being a reality show. The press is right on board with their ridiculous pieces analyzing the syntax. "Ooh they used "lodestar" so it must be Mike Pence." The press has learned nothing. The NY Times is just completely up its own ass smirking like the cat who ate the canary. The only good thing that comes out of this is the fact that Trump is obsessed with finding out who wrote it and is making the lives of the people in the White House hell. I hope he goes all out: polygraphs, truth serum, cavity searches. Anybody working in that White House deserves every bit of pain he can bring.
  14. Between this and Roseanne, I'm beginning to think Sara Gilbert is cursed.
  15. I'm seeing chatter on Twitter that by showing that Kavanaugh perjured himself in these hearings may be setting up ground to have him impeached later if we can swing the House. I don't know how true that is but I'm pretty sure that perjury counts as a high crime and misdemeanor.
  16. If Booker gets ousted, I'm wondering if the Governor of NJ can just rename him back to the Senate.
  17. To me the most interesting thing about that op-ed is that it is a sign to me that people are thinking about how to preserve what's left of their careers and reputations when this all blows apart. I think a lot of people are just trying to figure out how to avoid jail at this point because everyone is flipping on everyone.
  18. The press is determined to hand Ocasio-Cortez around everyone's neck. If you listen to the two of them talk, it's night and day. Ocasio-Cortez is all about lefty talking points and the moment she has to speak on anything else she goes pear-shaped. Pressley has real experience.
  19. Ugh. No words.
  20. I was working at a country radio station when Faith Hill broke out. She's always been very open about drawing inspiration from diverse sources, especially blues and soul artists.
  21. The Manafort/Cohen guilt finally seems to have popped the bubble. What's worse is that these numbers came before his shameful behavior around McCain's passing.
  22. BernieBro press wants Dems to fail and they REALLY want the Mueller investigation to go away.
  23. VerySmartBrothas agress with you.
  24. I'm sure civil rights icon Bernie Sander will jump right on top of this.
  25. I don't want to see any journalist harmed but I can't help be think how the press treated Trump as entertainment for clicks and views. They didn't ever think that they would end up in his crosshairs but they sure didn't care about the people he targeted all through the campaign. Like so many others they thought he would only harm those people. They thought the violence would never touch them.
