His first venture was publishing a magazine so I think he would've stayed with publishing for a while then who knows what next. In another timeline, he might've been Steve Jobs or Bill Gates.

For all this talk about Camelot and Chappaquidick (sp?), he's the Kennedy I remember. I remember his wedding to Carolyn and I remember watching the news stories of the search for their plane. It was heartbreaking.

No. Nononono. That's not what I meant to say ATALL. My intended point was that political dynasties are nothing new. They are woven into the fabric of this country and some of the people from some of those families did real good so we shouldn't reject anyone simply because of their last name or bloodline.

I'm going to respectfully push back on this. I think all this talk about political dynasties ignores reality. People like to talk about the Kennedys, Bushes and Clintons have been a part of America since its founding. We've had the Adams (John & John Quincy), the Roosevelts (Teddy, FDR), the Taft/Chaffee family (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Taft_family) and MANY more. I feel like this rejection of "dynasties" is another facet of this constant desire for outsiders but I'm not one of those people. I want someone who knows the system inside and out and if they learned that from the cradle all the better. That said any talk of Kennedy 2020 is insanely premature. He's got a ways to go but he's off to a good start.

Russia leaks right before dumb Donald heads to Switzerland. This is excellent. He always decompensates when he travels. This will just up the pressure.

I think the real issue is that the doctor is a member of the Navy which means that Trump is his Commander-in-Chief and can order him to lie. Telling the truth would have meant violating a direct order and ending his career.

His opponent should grab those ads and start running them again.

Nobody cares about the retail job losses because most of those workers are female and minority. Remember that the only working class people that matter are white.

I'm not sure. He gives me Bernie Sanders vibes and as well documented in this thread, I don't consider that a plus. But, yeah, that creepy post was a bad way to break onto the scene.

He's not going to win. He'll wash out in the primary. Personally I'm really happy that my two favorite candidates - Richard Cordray and Betty Sutton - have decided to become running mates. I was hoping they would. I wasn't looking forward to having to choose between them.

What amazes me is that people want her to run when what she really should do is start a Super PAC. Maybe team up with Tom Steyer who has pledged $30 million dollars to help flip the House. Citizens United says that money is speech.

In other good news, Donnie is dissolving the Voter Fraud Commission.

Don't dismiss the possibility of a heath crisis or...worse. He's clearly in very poor health. He's gained a ton of weight. He's decompensating mentally at a truly alarming rate and, let's be honest, the Russian mob isn't big on leaving loose ends. If I had to make a prediction I think a stroke will take him down. But even then the Republicans will try to see if he can hold a pen and sign bills.

Go away and die is the entire Republican platform. For immigration, for health care, for the criminal justice system, for infrastructure. The republican party is all about cruelty and selfishness.

Every House seat is up next year. That's why I'm focusing on groups like Swing Left and Flippable to help me know which ones we can turn. Given the Russia investigation and the sexual harassment scandal, we going to have a better chance at some of these seats as some of these folks suddenly opt for "retirement."

I saw that this morning. It is a thing of beauty. I honestly don't understand what West thought he would accomplish by going after TNC.

Assuming we survive this, there's a lot that will need to be fixed so that this can't ever happen again. We'll need to get rid of the electoral college, reinstate the voting rights act, overturn Citizens United, plus we'll need to get rid of the judges Trump named to the courts. Granted, there's no mechanism for doing that now but if we survive this we'll need to treat these people the way Germany treated the Nazis after the war, complete with executions. If we make it to the other side of this, going high and being merciful is not an option.

It's not wrong in this case. These people have earned that hate. Not just the reps but the voters too. These people are looking to take everything for themselves and leave nothing for the rest of us. Historically, that doesn't work out well. There was no reason for Chaffetz to step down, certainly not in the rushed fashion he did. He could've spent years protecting Trump but instead he ran shortly after a special counsel was named. TrumpRussia circles (which I admit has its fair share of conspiracy theorists) pretty much agrees that he got nailed early for Russian money and flipped in exchange for the chance to save face and quit. There's really no other logical explanation.

My take on Paul Ryan is that this is like Jason Chaffetz. Mueller is up his ass and going to give him a chance to save face if he spills what he knows.

I just wonder how much of this wretched tax bill can be fixed the next time a Dem is in the White House. Even if we take Congress in 2018, Trump (or Pence or Hatch or who ever will be left standing) will just veto anything.

I saw those tweets too and I have to admit that I truly don't understand what those voters want. Moore is a lunatic who was running on the position that life was better during slavery. I can't imagine a mindset where keeping that guy out of office isn't enough of a motivation. But if I'm honest, I suspect some of those black voters are Sanders supporters who have bought into his con. They want to hear "medicare for all" and "fight for $15" and "free college" and "legal weed" and if they don't hear those buzzwords they tune out. JMHO. Bernie trying to take credit for Jones' win is a whole new level of aint-shitness. He's no different than Trump taking credit for the Obama economy.
