  1. Shannen, ironically.
  2. Yeah, they're setting up a murder mystery. I assume it'll kick in once the devil story is done.
  3. Yeah, unfortunately Brash / Cwikly were too short-lived that we never really got to see where they were going with their storylines. Unfortunately, that was the start of the Higley Horror - she managed to run the show into the ground in a few short months that made them run to James E Reilly again... ETA: I read some of the recaps from Dena's first reign o' horrors and it was as bad as I remembered (March 7th-August 8th). Bo and Hope as bounty hunters! https://www.soapcentral.com/days-of-our-lives/recaps/2003/ Why they've gone back to her again and again is beyond me.
  4. Robin Givens is an awful actress.
  5. I don't think they needed a huge event as such - I think they needed to go where the viewers wanted them to go, which was properly do Pam versus JR and promo the [!@#$%^&*] out of their long-awaited feud and showdowns. It's like the re-tooling of Dynasty mid-season 6 - it was clunky as hell, but gave viewers what they wanted (Alexis, Blake and Krystle in a storyline together). I'm not sure people missed Bobby as much as the producers thought.
  6. Oh, I agree. I don't think it would've somehow been well-written, especially as 90210 were moving into Melrose territory with fast-paced and bigger story arcs. I think it was probably better to just send Ray away, but Jamie Walters seemed to blame the show for effectively tanking his music career (though I don't really think his career trajectory would've been much different).
  7. Honestly, most shows have some fall off from the premiere episode and in that respect falling 100k in viewers is minimal (not that it had much room to fall..). I'm worried though that ABC might end up pulling it if it gets too low as the ratings are pretty horrendous.
  8. Well, I really enjoy it. It's very much an old school prime time soap though and I do wonder if that's just not a strong enough premise anymore. But oh well, I'll watch as long as it airs.
  9. That and not going properly into Pam vs JR in the dream season. It's pretty much what the majority of the viewers wanted/expected. Yet, it was a bust because they just didn't want to write Pam as a strong female character and brought in the slightly bizarre Angelica Nero.
  10. The intention with Ray was to redeem him by having him work with his anger issues. Of course this was a case of Daddy Spelling pulling the plug because he thought it made his precious daughter look like an idiot (like she needed help...) and he was promptly written out before they even got to that point.
  11. Yup. If they wanted Jan to be conveniently pregnant, they could've had Belle and Shawn try for another baby via in vitro and then have Jan steal the sperm and lie and say that she and Shawn had an affair. Still creepy as hell, but at least wouldn't involve a direct sexual assault by Jan.
  12. Yeah, the show started going into the drain by season 7 though I'm fine with thinking of it as the final season. Post-college they sort of fell into being pre-Amanda Melrose. Why they thought we'd enjoy seeing these characters struggle with their careers is beyond me. Maybe Wear This! could've been exposed as a money laundering operation or something.
  13. I thought it was odd to launch Sunset Beach at noon since you'd imagine with the demographic successes that 90210 and Melrose had it would be ideal for a late afternoon slot.
  14. I always wondered what happened to it, but I assume because both Melrose Place and Beverly Hills, 90210 were begging to suffer in the 97-98 season + Pacific Palisades being a big ole flop, they dropped the prime time idea. Such a shame it never came to pass, but I'm sure it's a lot better in my head than it would've been in reality.
  15. New clip with Lani and Eli uploaded. Surprised it got cut since they promo'd Girls5Eva.
  16. Once DAYS has decided that a couple is destined to be together they're going to end up together no matter what unfortunately. I think it's the curse of the "super couples" era.
  17. There's at least two other scenes coming per this playlist. I hope they can at least start uploading classic clips too soon. I don't hold out for full episodes though, but these cut scenes plus clips could be a nice money spinner for them. The John/Marlena scene already has 12k views and the Abby/Xander scene 7k. To be fair, I wonder if some of these scenes are specifically shot in case they run a bit short since it's much harder to go back and shoot more scenes once you start cutting the episodes. Both the John/Marlena and Abby/Xander scenes have a recap function and doesn't serve to further plots. I'd assume they feel like the Ben/Ciara scenes satisfy some female segment of the audience, at a guess.
  18. Nice, I hope they'll start uploading more cut scenes since it does seem to happen rather frequently.
  19. Yeah, I agree. I don't think viewers will really remember such a small part from a bunch of years ago. It's not as if it was a memorable role (like Kyle Lowder playing Brady, then a recast Rex, or Josh Taylor previously playing Chris Koschitek). I don't mind them re-using actors like that because no one will really think that he played some random guy years ago, the issue is when they re-use people who had memorable parts. I'd assume he'll be killed off in a few months time anyway.
  20. I guess this is the most appropriate thread for this one:
  21. I think it was meant to be the run up to the serial killer storyline. Of course, since it was all retconned to being an evuul plan masterminded by André it makes no sense why Bo and Hope would've "survived" the attack.
  22. Honestly, I don't mind them killing off Abby as such - the issue is still that I think they'll end up backtracking a few years down the line. Because ultimately, if you kill off a legacy character like Abby you can't really just sweep it under the rug - she's not your regular Serena. Her death wouldn't just end with her funeral, but would be something that echoes years and, assuming the show lasts that long, decades down the line. This is why it's so tempting for writers to bring back characters like Abby for the cheap drama during sweeps. It's an easy way to create tears and conflict and why it's hard to keep them dead. If the bozos that run daytime today had been in charge of the shows back in the 70s/80s I'm sure characters like Addie would've miraculously turned up alive at one point. I'm not as as down on Ron as some people are, but his strength does not lie in writing stories like that.
  23. Tommy would be like 90 now. I guess they could have him die and his last wish to be buried in Salem, which would bring Sandy and Marie (and any spawn they have) back for it. I guess Ron brought on Sarah though.
