  1. She was on other serials too. I know that she was on Paradise Bay.
  2. I know that Christopher Marlowe is the son of the late Hugh Marlow (Another World) and an actress named K. T. Stevens. Is Elizabeth Stack the daughter of the late Robert Stack?
  3. Claire Mallis (Dr. Dorian Cramer Lord #2), Lee Patterson (Joe Riley, Sr.), Paul Joynt (Greg Huddleston), Nat Pollen (Dr. Jim Craig #2), and Gerald Anthony (Marco Corelli) from that clip are all desceased.
  4. I did not care for Kassie DePaiva at first. She get a lot better! However, I never cared for the pairing of Todd and Blair. After he returned from Ireland, I felt that both characters should have moved onto some other romantic partners. I preferred Todd with Tea.
  5. I was so glad last night to see Barbara Rodell as Lee on the clips. I had never seen her on Another World before. The first time I saw her was on The Secret Storm.
  6. It should be noted that Candice Earley, who played Donna for many years, was herself a recast. Franscesca Poston had originated the role.
  7. I think that he may have played that role.
  8. In that clip above, Brooke English is talking to her dying father, Phillip English. Phillip is played by the same actor (James Hawthorne) who had played Dr. Kenneth Bryson on The Edge of Night.
  9. On that clip above, Tina says, "I've never really been with a man before." Who is she talking to? I remember vaguely that she had a boyfriend who was her lawyer after she returned from Califoria. He learned that she was the daughter of Victor and tried to encourage her to go after her inheritance (which he had his eyes on). Is that the person?
  10. Yes, Luke was friends with both Laura and Scottie. Then, he suddenly raped Laura - and she hated him. Scotty continued to be Luke's friend until he learned that his wife had been raped and (probably later) the identy of the rapist.
  11. No writer was listed in those credits. I wonder who was writing? Also, Alan Nourse was listed. That must have been before he was on either The Edge of Night as Roy Cameron and on As the World Turns as Otto Martin. (He later returned to The Edge of Night as Joe Pollock.)
  12. I absolutely HATED Fiona Hutchinson and the character of Gabrielle. She gave absolutely no enjoyment to me in watching the show. Then, how she stole Delila's desiging business absolute was downright mean, deciteful, and underhanded! Most of the time, such actions are punished in the end, but she got away from it. I hate that the show brought her back after she had departed!
  13. Sadie was not exactly a housekeeper herself. She was the head of the housekeeping for Llanview Hospital, although she did work for the Siegel family as a second job. One book says that she also worked for the Vernon family, but I don't remember that. The first African-American actress in a contract role on a soap opera was Miki Grant on Another World, during the time that Agnes Nixon was the headwriter. The Edge of Night had featured Al Freeman, Jr. before that, but it was not a contract role. Also, when Ms. Nixon was the headwriter of The Guiding Light, there were African-American performers (James Earl Ray, Cecily Tyson, Billy Dee Williams) but these were not contract roles. Irna Phillips integrated The Brighter Day in the early 1960s when Rex Ingram was hired to play a character. The show was cancelled quickly after that.
  14. Meg Mundy was in the pilot only. Burke Moses did play Curtis. After that, he also played Bulge on One Life to Live.
  15. I think that Ms. Goodrich and Agnes Nixon resemble each other a lot.
  16. request: Do you anything to post about Lovelady Powell (Birdie Clayborn) or Judi Rollin (Didi Clayborn)?
  17. Oh no. Penny later married Roy McGuire. He was the ex-husband (and a former convict) who was the ex-wife of Penny's sister-in-law Sandy Wilson McGuire. Roy and Sandy had a little boy (Jimmy); Roy wanted to get custody of the boy, so he married Penny, who was unable to bear children. Konrad Mathai played Roy. He returned to As the World Turns later to play the original Grant Coleman (and was later replaced by James Douglas).
  18. I remember that he took a trip out of town. It was some type of medical conference. I think that Mr. Lipton was filming a movie with Sammy Davis, Jr. Neil was gone for a while, then Penny got the news that he had died. I don't remember how he died, however. The upstairs hallway was shown, and the audience heard Penny's reaction upon hearing the news. She did not hear it onscreen.
  19. I have two comments on the interview with Teal Ames: 1. She mentioned her big break as being on The Edge of Night. However, she did not mention the role of Della Steet on the Perry Mason radio serial. I wonder why not? (Am I correct that she played this role?) 2. Teal Ames resembles Emily Prager, who later played her daughter Laurie. I bet that was a factor in the casting of Miss Prager.
  20. three requests: Could something be posted about Laurel Delmar (Laurie Keaton), Deborah Solomon/Steinberg (Amanda Holmes), or the actress who played Pat Holland Dixon?
  21. I realized, after I had posted, that Mr. Beck had played a doctor when the physicians were striking against the Riverside Hospital. I am not sure how to check personal messages.
  22. The show REALLY made a mistake in killing off Leslie Jackson!
  23. I had assumed that the set was based after the set of the original series (I am talking about the Peyton Mansion set.). They were very similar, with two stairways that led to oposite directions, then returned to the same direction. Admittedly, there were fans (such as you) who did not care for a particular couple. However, Vic and Laurie (and I did mean Lamont, not Hastings) were a couple that most viewers wanted to get back together. Particularly after he remarried Kay Reynolds.
  24. I wonder what other role it was that Ms. Kennedy auditioned?
  25. Brian was the son of Stephanie and brother of Suzi.
