To amybrickwallace: I was about to post that I think that he had to have kidney dialysis. It was the first time that I (then, a teenager) had ever heard of it.

The late Cindy Carol, who played Susan on Never Too Young, was married to and later divorced from actor Christopher Connelly (Norman on the primetime serial Peyton Place).

Ms. Tolan was my favorite of all the six plus actress to play Mary.

Maureen Mooney was later on All My Children as the wife of Bruce Gray.

Chuck was a college student. He also had some type of health problem which was made a lot worse by Nick Davis at the intended wedding of Tara and Chuck.

Ms. Brill later played a crazy lady who was after Deborah Saxon on The Edge of Night. The role was short-term.

I can't imagine why Robyn Millan did so poorly on Ryan's Hope. (and I agree that she did a TERRIBLE job as Delia) Ilene Kristen was told to watch tapes of Robyn Millan from Where the Heart Is during the early months of the show to help her get an idea of how Delia was supposed to be.

Ms. Balance was one of the two performers that I know (the other being Jane Manning) who returned to the show for the last episode. I can find (on IMDb) no mention of any other television or movie roles for her (contrary to the last sentence). Nor can I find any mention of her husband. I will keep looking for something written about their roles in The Owl and the Pussycat. The actor who played her husband on the show (Joseph Stern) later became a television producer. One of the shows on which he worked was Law and Order.

I remember that, in the 1980s, I saw the film Alphabet City. The lead male star was Vincent Spano. I attended a lot of movies in those days. For me, the main attraction of that movie was to see Ray Sera, who had been written off The Edge of Night as Eddie Lorimer. I told my class that I had seen the picture and that Vincent Spano was in it. Several of the female students were familiar with the work or Mr. Spano on Seach for Tomorrow. Who did he play, and what was his storyline?

I wonder what happened to Ellen Spencer? She was the original Janet Bergman on Search for Tomorrow.

I wonder what happened to Wendy Drew, the original Ellen on the show? I cannot recall anything that she did following As the World Turns.

I don't remember him on All My Children, but perhaps I was not watching at the time. I remember him from As the World Turns, The Doctors, and in a walk-on role on Guiding Light. I do think that his co-star from The Doctors, Lydia Bruce, would have been a good replacement for Mary Fickett when she left the role of Ruth Martin, R. N. on All My Children.

I think that it is a shame that no relatives of Minnie were ever mentioned or shown. Perhaps she could have been related to Lt. Hindman in some way. If John Danielle did not want to appear as Lt. Hindman, a good recast may have been good for the show.

I adored Patricia Hodges! I don't know about her as an Opal replacement on All My Children, though. Under All My Children, the possibility of Opal's sister Pearl was mentioned. Maybe she could have played Pearl. I also think that she perhaps could have played Kate Rescott on Loving. (although I liked Nada Rowland a whole lot) Tom Wiggon played a doctor who was working for Victor Lord on One Life to Live, and he had aged a whole lot since his Breaking Away days.

Slick, as you are aware, I am particularly interested in The Secret Storm because it is probably my favorite long-running soap opera and because so many performers are listed as having been on the show and because I know very little, if anything at all, about their characters or storylines. One particular such performer is Francesca James. Before she departed All My Children as Kitty, she gave a recital. In the notes, she is listed as having appeared on The Secret Storm, One Life to Live, and All My Children. The role from The Secret Storm was not listed, and I have been very curious over the years as to when she was on the show and/or in what storyline. If you come across this, would you please post?

I think that show was presently perfectly! I have always been a big fan of it.

I read the posts about Len Wayland yesterday, but did not have time to post until today. I had just seen Mr. Wayland yesterday afternoon on a rerun of The Virginian.

The show should never have replaced Henry Slesar. The person who should have been replaced was the executive producer, Erwin Nicholson.

I don't think that I had known that Betsy Durkin (Victoria #2, Dark Shadows) had appeared on Hidden Faces.

Writer Roger Crews, who wrote Search for Tomorrow, has died. I will post an obituary later when I have it.

During the Paul Raunch era, the late Sam Hall and the late Peggy O'Shea wrote One Life to Live. She left the show,and he was hired to co-write with Sam Hall. Mr. Hall and Mr. Slesar co-wrote the show for about a year.

Writer Roger Crews has passed away. His widow is actress/writer Louise Shaffer (Search for Tomorrow, Where the Heart Is, Hidden Faces, The Edge of Night, Ryan's Hope, All My Children). His son says that memorial arrangements have not been made, but a memorial service will probably planned to be held several weeks from now.

Raven's false imprisonment or Raven being tricked by the Whitney acting troup is often said by fans of The Edge of Night as one of the worst storylines. However, compared to the Eden storyline and the Ian Deveraux storyline, I think that it was quite good. I was a teacher at the time that the show was airing, and I could no wait to get home every afternoon to see how those characters who were involved were going to trick Raven. Craig Augestine as Johnny was one of my favorite actors/characters on The Edge of Night.
