  1. That's f-cking disturbing if they allowed Louise to date him after that, but I would not be surprised. EE has done some bizarre mess these past five years, so this wouldn't be a stretch. So sad how all the women of all age groups on this show are written. It's disgusting at this point. None of them have self-worth.
  2. OK... How is Keegan attached to this trashy ass family? I would've been all for the fanfare I've been seeing online that he was some stray that Denise would take in, or even being Daphne's (Denise/Kim sister) child that they didn't know about even though that would be farfetched. I guess I'll sit back and see where this goes.
  3. Bill Bauer had another that was Hillary's brother? I gotta go read up on that. Makes no sense why they never brought him. I do think that tying Johnny to Trudy would've been the most sensible seeing as the character wasn't seen in decades. Her history was practically a blank canvas that could've been filled in with anything. That's something I just don't get with writers. Instead of creating all these new characters out of nowhere, why not use an old character that hasn't been on the canvas for decades and tie a new, young character to them? So seeing as you didn't care for Johnny that much, I am guessing you weren't keen on his pairing with Roxie either? I know a lot of people on another forum I used to post on used to go on about them like they were some great romance.
  4. Oh wow. Didn't know that. Why didn't they simply just have him be an offspring of Meta or Trudy? That would've made more sense. I swear some of these head writers make such an easy task so difficult. What were your person thoughts on Johnny?
  5. From what I've seen of Warren, he wasn't bad until they took him from being the hardened hospital administrator to a killer by '87. I think that he had stellar chemistry with Alexandra. From what I've seen of Jackson & Suzanne, I didn't care for them at all. I couldn't get into the singing stories at that time despite loving Lujack and later Chelsea. But speaking of this period of the show, was Johnny the scion of Trudy or Meta? Or was he simply just some distant Bauer that they didn't go into detail about who he was related to?
  6. I didn't see it but I am not surprised. Sonja's men always start off lusting after her and then lust (and chase) after Wh*reAnn. I'm sure after she's done with this ploy with Tom that she'll pursue him too. She always does. I think the one time that Sonja got one over on LuAnn was in s5 when she hooked up with the pirate after Luann stopped screwing him once everyone called her on it.
  7. Weren't there other Bauer siblings too? When Meta returned, it would've been nice for her to mention the whereabouts of them too. I just find it inexcusable when shows just toss legendary core families to the aside to push crappy newer families forward. Only a few soaps truly got away with it (i.e. Young and the Restless, Another World...) b/c the replacements were just as interesting. While I loved the Lewis/Shayne clan, I never saw them are core families that made me warm inside. And don't get me started on the Coopers...
  8. Well if he was gonna just read lines, he should've quit. Like said in my last post, Buzz became pointless after '99. He was not needed at all. Especially not for Harley and Frank, who were at their most entertaining years before he arrived. I love how you summed this up perfectly. I do wish that a director or someone higher up would've told O'Leary to scrap the comedy aspect, and tried to get him to capture all the characteristics you pointed out that Charita and Mart's Ed possessed.
  9. Oh I need the 20th to hurry up and get here so Ossoff's win can be set in stone. Then we can prep and start laying the foundation for Stacey Abrams to win the governorship in 2018.
  10. Yeah but GL has been off air for a long time. Buzz should've left a LONG time ago. '99 should've been the latest he stayed. Anything over that was pointless as Buzz didn't have any story after that. He should've been written off with Drew's mom, Selina.
  11. Well she was the one that did the interview (along with Andy) and said she wasn't gonna show her wedding on the show. At the end of the day, I could give 2 f-cks as that marriage is doomed anyways. Might as well show the circus on TV...
  12. Which is why I wish they would've brought Hope Bauer back to fulfill that void if they didn't want Ed back. I feel like they had numerous opportunities to do so. They could've done it right after the end of Santa Barbara by snagging up Robin Mattison, who previously occupied the role, before the went to AMC. They could've snagged Mattison once again after she left AMC. I think they could've recast Julia Barr as Hope too when she left AMC in '06. Or they could've asked Elvera Roussel back.
  13. Do you think Van Vleet didn't fit into the role b/c ABC soap actors were a bit more campy (acting wise) compared to P&G actors? From what I've seen of him, I didn't mind him. I just think his stories during that time were stupid. I don't even think the show was trying to commit with Gentry's return as Ed. Wasn't he recurring during that time? I feel like Michelle was the only Bauer they cared for at that time, and that's b/c she was needed to fulfill the young teen void. I honestly believe that the show would've removed the Bauers from the show post '95 if they could've.
  14. Yeah, but I guess they did need a young male character for that era and creating Hart was a more logical choice. Billy would've been in the same age bracket as Blake, Frank, Mallet, etc. so there would be no young male (unless you count Dylan) for Bridget and Julie to beef for down the road. They still could've brought Billy back around this time though as Roger did need more allies around this time. It would've been more interesting to see Billy react to Hart, and like Blake, tried to solidify his position as Roger's golden child. I heard somewhere that Deas stuck around as long as he did to just provide stability within his household and to allow his wife, Margaret Colin (ex-Margo, ATWT) the chance to audition for roles in Primetime more often. Even though Peter Simon is the Ed I grew up watching, the more I bounce around watch older episodes with Hulswit in the role, I find myself wishing they would've kept him or brought him back when Simon left the first time. I know people didn't like Richard Van Vleet or Robert Gentry's versions of Ed either, but I find myself liking them more than Simon's version as of late... Only Bridget! I love Cassie and Bridget and feel like there could've been enough room for the both of them. Seeing as they were a bit similar, it would've been interesting to see their interaction. Especially, once Cassie got tossed into Hart's orbit. Adding in Dylan, who was with Bridget at the time and is Cassie's nephew, would've complicated matters even more. GL missed so many potential great stories by getting rid of the wrong characters for duds. Another '91 episode featuring Hart:
  15. And it is his birthday too! Now they know they are low-down and dirty for that!
  16. I'm sure @Mr. Vixen will be thrilled to hear that his girl back! She might make more than Kandi on RHOA, which won't be much as Kandi drove story last season, but Kandi is taking Bravo to the bank next year as she'll have RHOA and her Xscape reality show airing behind RHOA too.
  17. Robyn should be nowhere near the front of the couch. She should always be at the end as she's just there. Yes, she's the one sane wife on this show, but she shouldn't be in the first 2 seats. I get Gizelle has brought drama all season w/ Monique, but I still think Charrisse should've opposite Karen in the first seat. After Sunday's episode, you know those 2 are gonna eviscerate each other. I'd want them sitting right across from each to ensure they do so.
  18. Mmmm...
