  1. Did she have much direction at these shows? B/c I was always under the impression that she did until about the mid 90s when network interference became bad. I'm gonna be honest, but I've always got the impression that All My Children was Agnes' primary concern and OLTL & Loving were like the ugly stepchildren. I think she cared about them to some extent but not as much as AMC. I find it so odd b/c she was a protege of Irna's, who was heavily involved in all her creations' direction until she passed away. Her peer, Brad Bell, was heavily involved in both of his creations until he was unable to, but he left the show to his proteges. Why didn't Agnes do the same? I think Loving and OLTL are the shows that desperately needed her direction, or at least have her proteges at the helm of them. Why wasn't Winsor Washam, Lorraine Broderick, Victor Miller, or even Megan McTavish ever appointed to Loving? They know her tone better than anyone. Why not have proteges run this show?
  2. Potomac: Good episode tonight. It totally laid the foundation down as to what is to come in Bermuda next week. Gizelle v. Monique bores me at this point. I think both of them are seriously fighting just to create some sort of conflict for the show. Gizelle comes off as classist; meanwhile, Monique comes off as ageist. Both of them need their heads checked out and need to leave the beefing to the big dogs. Now Karen v. Charisse ... that's the rivalry I've been waiting to see! Two polished broads ready to get down and scrappy for cause. You know that there is so much tension between these 2 stemming from the reunion when Karen called Charisse a "snake in the grass." I don't think that Charisse has ever been able to let that go. Watching these 2 throw shots at each other was hilarious. Robyn needs to seriously let Juan go. It isn't worth it. She needs to regain her confidence and learn to let go. She is truly coming off as pathetic for attempting to hold onto something that is dead. Ashley is a fool and is hustling backwards. It is obvious she married Michael for his money. If she does not give that man a baby, he is gonna leave her a** high and dry with that restaurant and all its debts. She better have a baby, so she can secure a safety net for behind!! This show is easy and breezy to get through. It isn't toxic like ATL, BH, OC, or NJ. I don't truly despise any of the women. Also, if I am not mistaken, it helps that this show has a shorter episode order than all the older shows. I think this show has about 4-5 episodes left (3 episodes and then a 1-2 part reunion). All these shows need to resort back to have an episode order of 12-15 episodes max.
  3. That's interesting. I would've loved to see how that panned out.
  4. I hope she comes back b/c I loved Carly. I do miss her interaction with Finn and Tracey though.
  5. I'm betting they are. But why are they getting rid of the actress that plays Carly? She was wonderful.
  6. Wasn't it suggested that Scott was supposed to be Vicky/Marley's twin brother? I swear I've heard that from somewhere.
  7. ^ I don't think they did it to create buzz b/c the buzz had been there for the past few weeks since Atlanta ended. RHOC fans have been asking for trailer for over a month now. I've read insiders (via Twitter) say that Andy and the higher ups at Bravo were truly pissed about the photos leaking and pushed the trailer back a week.
  8. Bill Maher is a f-cking dolt, and I don't believe that he's that sorry. He sometimes says insightful stuff, but then he says something stupid that erases it. And him moaning about everything being PC is just a coverup so that he can revert back to saying mess like this and getting away with it. Honestly, I wish everyone would eradicate that word from our vernacular including my fellow African Americans. I feel like when we even toss the word around so casually, we are further strengthening the harsh conditioning that White slave masters did for centuries. And I don't believe this bullcrap about us taking the word back and giving it power. That's stupid.
  9. I thought he considered himself bisexual his first run? Didn't he try coming onto Stacey? I just remember him falling for Christian and causing Jane's ass to be shot (sadly she didn't die). Regardless, they should've never paired him with Lauren. It was just stupid. I would've preferred for them to just be friends and he accompanied her home b/c Peter didn't wanna come home. And of course Sharon had to fall on the sword for this new family. Sharon (besides Denise) is SOC's kicking post. At times, I wish that Letitia Dean would've never returned to this show. The detriment that has been done to Sharon this entire past run is horrendous. She is nothing like the old Sharon; she died back in 05 with Dennis Rickman. I think that EE has a terrible view towards gay men. Emmerdale and Corrie are actually handling their LGBTQ characters better. Billy and Todd (on Corrie) are happy and getting a child via adoption. While on Emmerdale, Rob/Aaron are getting over Robert having a slip up with Rebecca, they are at least still a unit and forgiving each other. Ben is f-cking miserable on this show. It's been about 10 years since the character 'came out' and he still hasn't come to terms with it or truly got to enjoy his sexuality. The second you think he does, he regresses. Johnny is a non-factor. They are just window dressing on that show. And I agree that they love to humiliate the elder veteran women on this show. Mainly Sharon, Denise, and Michelle as you pointed out. All 3 of them have been made to be bitter and miserable at all times. It's super annoying.
  10. They were gonna release it on Thursday but got pissed when fans were able to release to cast photo. They've pushed it back to Monday but the show returns on July 10th.
  11. Eww. The new family looks trashy as hell. I am guessing that they are supposed to the modern day answer to the Jackson clan, but I don't see it. I give them a year or 2 before they are all disposed of. If anything, I can see the eldest son being kept for the fact that he'll be hunky eye candy. I played a bit of catch up with what is going on and I'm regretting it. Steven/Lauren disgusts me. This is why I loathed the fact that they turned him from being gay to being 'bisexual,' so they could pair him with Lauren. He should've been a constant foil to Ben and his romantic pairings. Him poking holes in condoms and stalking Lauren (of all people) is horrid. I wouldn't be surprised if he is a casualty come next Christmas. I can't bear to watch Denise be poor either. While Diane Parrish is killing the material, I am sick of Denise being in constant doom and gloom. Can she find some happiness for once? Can they bring back all her kids (Chelsea, Libby, and even Jordan) for her? Can she get a proper love interest?
  12. I hope they did write this beat as it does seem like Stacey was partially using him (IMO) to stick it to Jack.
  13. Thanks, @dc11786. Yeah, I teen/young adult sets don't have chemistry on soaps like they used too. Most of them are isolated from their peers much like the vets/older characters are. You don't see much interaction or relationships between youthful characters anymore unless they are boning each other, getting married, preggers, or trading bitchy barbs. It's all pretty surface writing and nothing deep. I didn't know that there was such tension between Gwen/Stacey seeing as I've never seen it on the few episodes of Loving that have been accessible. If anything, Ava typically would be receiving the venom from Gwen and the Aldens while Stacey was typically put on a pedestal. I would truly love to see some of the scenes of the two of them tossing barbs against each other. I've always wondered, but who got custody of JJ and Hannah after Stacey was killed? Also, who was DinahLee friends with? Wasn't it Ava? Thanks for the historical breakdown of Stacey/Curtis. I didn't know that those 2 had much interaction too, as I only know that Jack and Curtis beefed over Lily in the early years of the show. Did Curtis ever try to pursue Stacey when Jack was alive?
  14. Lisa Brown was on Loving?! This was after her stint on ATWT, right? I didn't know this! I didn't care for Danny at all on The City. Love Ted King but the character was a bore. I do think that he and Laura Wright had a bit of chemistry, but as you stated, it was forced. Now I have to disagree with you as I love Tony/Ally on The City. George Palermo was freaking HAWT!
  15. Aww. How sad. I've always heard for years that Casey died thanks to overdosing. Glad to hear it was otherwise. But now I wanna see this entire arc!!! Why can't someone with a library of Loving episodes come forward?!
  16. I thought she was fine on AMC as Mia. I just thought that Mia's pairing were stupid. Especially, with Edmund. Mia worked best when she was with the other Fusion girls. I didn't know that she was prepping for a date with Buck when she was killed. See that makes me question even more is Gwen really did kill her to "spare" her or if she did it out of spite b/c of Buck. They should've explored that a bit more. See I knew I remember Ally having a child with Cooper. Did Cooper/Michael Weatherly leave the show before or during the Loving killings? Did he even pop up during The City b/c I don't remember if he did. If not, I guess he'd go on to be one of the many deadbeats soaps produced who left their kids behind. But doesn't Casey die via overdose?
  17. I am in the same boat with you as I am trying to figure out what went wrong with AH. She seems to have so much potential on this show and you are instantly drawn to her, but she gives you the opposite on Y&R. Maybe she is just phoning it in at this point, but whatever the issue, she needs to recapture the magic she used to have. Glad that it wasn't just me that thought about the Gwen/Stacey connection. I know that many have said that Gwen killed Stacey due to her ties to the Aldens, but after seeing this, it makes me wonder too if Buck had some part in Gwen offing Stacey. Were Buck/Stacey still involved around the time of her demise? What's with tension between Casey/Cooper? Were they beefing over Ally at the time? I thought that Cooper was being tossed into Steffy's orbit about that time. Also, didn't Ally have a child with Cooper or was it with Casey? How much longer do you think before we get to PAS' final episode on the show? And I have been entranced by the lavish sets too. Just makes me emotional about how low daytime has fallen since the 90s.
  18. @DRW50, another beautiful episode for us to enjoy!
