  1. I loved Kat/Bridget's friendship too. '91 does seem like a good year for the show. How Curlee masterfully introduced the next generation of teens (Kat, Bridget, Julie, Hart...) without making it overkill is to be admired. On any soap nowadays, we'd be tired of them after one scene. I love how much of a mess Bridget was from the start. I did find it harsh how she talked to Michelle/Ben though. I am eager to see once again how she'd become a surrogate sister to Michelle over time. Well I'll take old-fashioned P&G soaps over what is left. I feel like all the P&G soaps (ATWT/GL/AW) were firing on all cylinders at this time. But GL was shining the brightest. God I miss Nancy Curlee on TV. To me, she was the last great head writer that daytime produced.
  2. Stop! Leave 90s boo alone! I don't need him to be a thespian when he looks as good as he does.
  3. My God Kat was a brat then. I truly don't understand why she gave poor Gilly so much grief when Gilly wasn't even a threat to her at all. I do love the scene with Kat/Bridget though knowing that they'd go on to be best friends. Bridget was a bitch and freaking hoot this episode. When Ben accidentally tossed that water and hit her in the face, I burst into laughter. But I don't blame her for one second for becoming enthralled by Dylan. Morgan Englund was (and still is) sexy as [!@#$%^&*]. I would've went outside and watched his sexy ass at the pool too. So funny how these 2 would end up together down the line. But back to Morgan Englund, why did he quit acting?! God I miss looking at his gorgeous face on TV! Watching all these 1991 episodes depresses me about how much Ben would've contributed to the last era of the show. IMO, him, Michelle, and Bill should've been the three leads driving the show till its end. I can't get enough of Holly, Gilly, and Mindy, who are all some of my favorite characters from this era.
  4. Oh I am still pissed that she killed Andy and sent poor Steph off into the sunset alone.
  5. It's the same as US soaps. Some times they have their duds. Other times they have their successes.
  6. Caleb returned when Aaron was aged. Julie never did.
  7. I agree. Corrie has gotten to dark lately. I do think that Corrie should've had a serial killer off a lot of the irrelevants on the street (Fiz, Chesney, Sean, etc.). That's what Phelan should've been before being killed off.
  8. Wow. I am all for cleaning house on Corrie (as they need to), but if Nick is killed off, that's sheer stupidity. Why kill off Nick when he is still viable in the future? Also, the Platts have already suffered enough this past year. Why make things worse for them by killing off Nick? Gail and David have grieved enough. Give them a freaking break. Plus, poor Sarah already has enough doom and gloom with Bethenny. This is serious overkill. Why couldn't Nick simply leave the Street and meet up with a very pregnant Carla, who reveals she's knocked up by Nick and they go off into the sunset. Now with Chesney, I am all for him being killed off as he's been deadweight for the longest. I'd only wish that they'd do in his sister, Fiz too. Does Kate Oates need for me to send her a list of the right people to kill off b/c I'll do it if necessary.
  9. Oh OK. Thanks for the correction. But why would Caso get rid of him when Kirk was such an asset under Marland?
  10. I didn't care about Kirk/Sam at all with either recast. Only thing I like that Sam did was throw Kirk back into Lucinda's orbit. I always loved the banter between Kirk/Lucinda. Kirk/Iva are a bit before my time, but I do agree with everyone that, that was his most lively pairing. They should've wooed Lisa Brown back before Guiding Light and repaired the two. Yeah. As @DRW50 pointed out, he was booted in '95 and again in '98. Marland died in '93. In '95, Caso was EP for most of the year until Valente took over. I'm assuming Valente got rid of him. Minei Behr was EP around his second departure.
  11. Not the least bit surprised. It's obvious that they are tied to Russia too seeing how adamant many of them defend Trump. IMO, I think that majority of the GOP politicians and their pundits are tied to Russia. I am beginning to believe that this is one big web of treasonists, who sold their souls to ensure they'd win all 3 branches back. Pence, McConnell, Graham, Ryan, Santorum, Kingston, etc. -- I think they are all tied to Russia in some way or another.
  12. The real question is why did they get rid of Tom Wiggins and who's dumb decision was it? I loved Kirk minus his draining romance/marriage with Samantha.
  13. I give their marriage one more year.
  14. From what I've collected from reading synopsis, it boils down to Ann wanting Steve for herself. Ann marries Steve and whisks him off on their honeymoon when Carolee returns and all is revealed. SOD synopsis declares that Ann runs off (possibly pregnant w/ Steve's child) and never heard from again. From watching the aired episodes now, she was brought to town by Mona to break up Steve/Carolee, but she wandered into Nick's orbit instead. I don't think the Ann going bonkers story doesn't happen until around 76/77. Again, from reading SOD synopsis, those years seem very interesting with the Dancy clan, Greta/Billy, etc. You can read synopsis here...
  15. Ok. I am a bit nervous. What was he trying to pass through this secret communication network?
  16. ^ Wow. Just when I think they've hit rock bottom, they stoop even lower...
  17. So Daniel was the 'shocking' culprit behind Ken's fall? I would've never guessed that... And I am also guessing that from today's preview of next week that Nick will leave in a blaze of glory (hopefully not killed), and that Daniel killed his mom and buried her in the backyard (a la Knots Landing & Brookside). I love Kate Oates when she gets it right but when she gets it wrong, boy does she get it wrong.
  18. Did Clay know that Trisha was raising her brother? Or was Abril the only one who knew the truth?
  19. I think as many have pointed out over the years to me is that Loving had a serious identity problem. It's like each regime changed the show from Marland/Nixon's original image in an attempt to piggyback off of other soaps that were flourishing at the time. Sad now b/c all soaps would go on to suffer the same fates by forgetting what made each show different and special. With the 1991 set, I was wondering the same thing too. Was it a mall or strip mall? Otherwise, I am interested to see how Burnell all came to be with Ava. I'm with @DRW50 in that I didn't care for Abril/Trisha's scenes that episode. It boggles my mind how Trisha instantly wanted a baby after marrying fine ass Trucker. Had I been her, a baby would be the LAST thing on my mind. We'd still be in honeymoon stage and babies would happen by accident. I hate how soaps marry these young twenty-somethings off so fast and make them yearn for kids so quickly. It'd be endearing to just see a couple adamant in building a future and establishing themselves professionally before reproducing. Then again, I guess since most of these characters came from wealthy families and grew up quickly that it only makes sense to have then yearn for kids quickly.
  20. Comey acted on Russian intelligence he knew was fake...
