Loving/The City Discussion Thread
OK. I am glad it wasn't just me. That set heavily resembles the Snyder farm kitchen set. I'm wondering if Loving had the same set designer and he/she possibly moved to ATWT with Marland. I am also glad that you broke the rest of the similarities between Marland's previous and future shows with Loving. I knew that Ava was mean to be a carbon copy of Erica but I didn't know that she started off similar to Nola. I am guessing that it was Agnes who decided to shift her from Marland's greatest vixen to her own. Just goes to show that even great writers borrow and recycle their own material but tweak it for other shows. Don't blame 'em as if it broke, don't fix it.

I love Patrick Mulcahey. He seems like a writer that doesn't give a sh-t. I didn't know that Agnes was that anal. But I guess when you wrote for Irna Phillips, you are bound to pick up some of her OCD ways.

Understanable. I do get that AMC was her first love, but I do wish that she could've been more hands on with this show and even OLTL. Maybe it's just me and how I am with my own personal projects. I love them all equally. But speaking of Marland, does anyone else feel that the kitchen set that belonged to Stacey somewhat resembled the Snyder farm kitchen? The tones, the furniture, woodwork... Is it just me?

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
@DaytimeFan, I don't think Karen is broke. I think he husband doesn't well but Karen wants to keep up with 'the Joneses.' Karen needs to go buy a damn nice 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom house and call it day. I don't expect RHOP to be luxurious. That's why we have BH. I just need them to be a little bit more upperclass than the average person. Karen renting that big ass house is stupid seeing as Brandon nor Raven are coming back home.

That great to hear that she did train Gordon Russell on the ins and outs of OLTL. However, she still should've stepped in during the 80s and got their asses together at times. OLTL did have their over-the-top moments then. I don't get why she nor Marland didn't train someone to take over Loving after they both stepped away from it. Loving had potential to last longer than it did. They just needed the right visionaries to center the show. It obvious through fans of the show that it suffered from an identity crisis.

The Whites (alongside the Maceys) have to be the worst occupants of Home Farm. I love my Home Farm families to be larger than life and scandalous.

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
I think that Nicole/Lisa and Lisa/Matty were the only ones with true connections before the show. I do believe that these women were only thrown together before the show, hence why they were so nasty to each other. They didn't have ties to each other. I didn't care for Victoria either. I think she was trying to go for the LVP or Gina role and it fell flat. She was just too nasty to pull off what they do. Vanderpump and Gina can laugh at themselves and never lorded their wealth over Victoria. Victoria possessed none of that as she stayed looking her nose down on Athena. I just think that they need to scrap about 90% of the cast. They were just too vile. I heard it from here and other housewives blogs have corroborated the story. I'm guessing they'll get a Friday night slot like Melbourne or a Saturday morning slot like Cheshire. I agree that Auckland panned out to be phenomenal. Only thing that sucks is that they didn't get a reunion. They needed the reunion, not Sydney.

@Cheap21, you binged watch that?! Ooo... I don't know how you did it. I kicked myself for doing. Just too much. No wonder why Bravo opted to not show RHOS here in the states and will supposedly air Auckland here instead. Sydney was trashy. Like the trashiest, darkest, most vile housewives franchise ever. I've heard that Melissa and Victoria are the ones getting the boot and everyone else is staying. IMO, I'd only keep Nicole and Matty (even though I can't stand her) and ditch the rest.

I am assuming that RHOD will either run alongside RHOC like it did last year or take NYC's slot on Wednesday. NJ, much like ATL, will always be on Sundays. Those 2 shows are locked on Sunday nights. I am thinking that NJ will either have a shorter episode order, which they should given these past 2 abysmal seasons, or their last few episodes will run alongside ATL. If that's the case, NJ will be pushed back to 9:00 and RHOA will resume its 8:00 slot. November is a sweeps month, so Bravo will NEVER push an ATL premiere from that month. Seeing as OC emerge as a strong contender in recent seasons, that's why they moved their premiere to July. If I am not mistaken, usually OC would premiere back in Feb/Mar/Apr time frame. The previous 2 seasons it came on in June. I guess with the bump that Kelly gave last year, they are putting the premiere during a sweeps month.

I think Shahs of Sunset is gonna replace it. Someone on Twitter said that NJ might not return until October, which I find odd b/c ATL will come back in November. I am thinking that Shahs will take Potomac's slot until NJ returns. I think NJ will probably be back early August. If Potomac has 3 episodes left, which Wikipedia is claiming, that'll last till the end of June. If they have a 2 part reunion OR a 90 mins 1 part reunion and secrets revealed episode the following week then that'll be enough to fill until Shahs returns on July 16th. ETA: Looked it up and Shahs is replacing RHOP in the 8:00 slot.

Look at you, buddy! I hope they do use your idea b/c God knows this show needs a better family in Home Farm. The Whites need to get the f-ck out immediately once Lawrence leaves the show.

Did she have much direction at these shows? B/c I was always under the impression that she did until about the mid 90s when network interference became bad. I'm gonna be honest, but I've always got the impression that All My Children was Agnes' primary concern and OLTL & Loving were like the ugly stepchildren. I think she cared about them to some extent but not as much as AMC. I find it so odd b/c she was a protege of Irna's, who was heavily involved in all her creations' direction until she passed away. Her peer, Brad Bell, was heavily involved in both of his creations until he was unable to, but he left the show to his proteges. Why didn't Agnes do the same? I think Loving and OLTL are the shows that desperately needed her direction, or at least have her proteges at the helm of them. Why wasn't Winsor Washam, Lorraine Broderick, Victor Miller, or even Megan McTavish ever appointed to Loving? They know her tone better than anyone. Why not have proteges run this show?

Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
Potomac: Good episode tonight. It totally laid the foundation down as to what is to come in Bermuda next week. Gizelle v. Monique bores me at this point. I think both of them are seriously fighting just to create some sort of conflict for the show. Gizelle comes off as classist; meanwhile, Monique comes off as ageist. Both of them need their heads checked out and need to leave the beefing to the big dogs. Now Karen v. Charisse ... that's the rivalry I've been waiting to see! Two polished broads ready to get down and scrappy for cause. You know that there is so much tension between these 2 stemming from the reunion when Karen called Charisse a "snake in the grass." I don't think that Charisse has ever been able to let that go. Watching these 2 throw shots at each other was hilarious. Robyn needs to seriously let Juan go. It isn't worth it. She needs to regain her confidence and learn to let go. She is truly coming off as pathetic for attempting to hold onto something that is dead. Ashley is a fool and is hustling backwards. It is obvious she married Michael for his money. If she does not give that man a baby, he is gonna leave her a** high and dry with that restaurant and all its debts. She better have a baby, so she can secure a safety net for behind!! This show is easy and breezy to get through. It isn't toxic like ATL, BH, OC, or NJ. I don't truly despise any of the women. Also, if I am not mistaken, it helps that this show has a shorter episode order than all the older shows. I think this show has about 4-5 episodes left (3 episodes and then a 1-2 part reunion). All these shows need to resort back to have an episode order of 12-15 episodes max.

That's interesting. I would've loved to see how that panned out.- Emmerdale: Discussion Thread
I hope she comes back b/c I loved Carly. I do miss her interaction with Finn and Tracey though.- Emmerdale: Discussion Thread
I'm betting they are. But why are they getting rid of the actress that plays Carly? She was wonderful.- Another World Discussion Thread
Wasn't it suggested that Scott was supposed to be Vicky/Marley's twin brother? I swear I've heard that from somewhere.- Bravo's The Real Housewives of....
^ I don't think they did it to create buzz b/c the buzz had been there for the past few weeks since Atlanta ended. RHOC fans have been asking for trailer for over a month now. I've read insiders (via Twitter) say that Andy and the higher ups at Bravo were truly pissed about the photos leaking and pushed the trailer back a week.- The Politics Thread
Bill Maher is a f-cking dolt, and I don't believe that he's that sorry. He sometimes says insightful stuff, but then he says something stupid that erases it. And him moaning about everything being PC is just a coverup so that he can revert back to saying mess like this and getting away with it. Honestly, I wish everyone would eradicate that word from our vernacular including my fellow African Americans. I feel like when we even toss the word around so casually, we are further strengthening the harsh conditioning that White slave masters did for centuries. And I don't believe this bullcrap about us taking the word back and giving it power. That's stupid.- EastEnders: Discussion Thread
I thought he considered himself bisexual his first run? Didn't he try coming onto Stacey? I just remember him falling for Christian and causing Jane's ass to be shot (sadly she didn't die). Regardless, they should've never paired him with Lauren. It was just stupid. I would've preferred for them to just be friends and he accompanied her home b/c Peter didn't wanna come home. And of course Sharon had to fall on the sword for this new family. Sharon (besides Denise) is SOC's kicking post. At times, I wish that Letitia Dean would've never returned to this show. The detriment that has been done to Sharon this entire past run is horrendous. She is nothing like the old Sharon; she died back in 05 with Dennis Rickman. I think that EE has a terrible view towards gay men. Emmerdale and Corrie are actually handling their LGBTQ characters better. Billy and Todd (on Corrie) are happy and getting a child via adoption. While on Emmerdale, Rob/Aaron are getting over Robert having a slip up with Rebecca, they are at least still a unit and forgiving each other. Ben is f-cking miserable on this show. It's been about 10 years since the character 'came out' and he still hasn't come to terms with it or truly got to enjoy his sexuality. The second you think he does, he regresses. Johnny is a non-factor. They are just window dressing on that show. And I agree that they love to humiliate the elder veteran women on this show. Mainly Sharon, Denise, and Michelle as you pointed out. All 3 of them have been made to be bitter and miserable at all times. It's super annoying. - Santa Barbara Discussion Thread
