  1. BH Blah. Kyle continues to whine and is an insufferable drama queen. Dorit sucks too, but I dislike Kyle more. Erica looked like Eva Braun at that dinner. LVP's shoes looked so uncomfortable. I liked the private shopping scene. Loved Rinna's sequin suit. And that's it. This season is a dud. NYC Strong start right out of the gate. This franchise has surely been hotly anticipated. Carole's blond hair has really amped up her bitch attitude. Her hair doesn't suit her at all. The chain smoking and marathon running is another ridiculous contradiction of hers. Ramona rocked that Britney Spears costume. She remains a foghorn that Bethenny can't silence and for that I will always enjoy her. Dorinda was a drunk mess. That costume was hilarious though. And it was nice to see her conversation with Luann (more on her below). Sonja seemed more sober and centred like in her earliest seasons. Interesting to hear her admit to taking an anti-depressant, putting on weight (common) and then getting off of them. And good to see her with Rocco - a way better choice than fake ass Frenchie. Obviously, the premiere belongs to Luann. I loved her Diana Ross outfit (go to hell, Carole)...I really hope she pulls through with all this stuff.
  2. Turns out that schmoozing might have been important. She’s been cast in Season 8 of American Horror Story! Go Dame Joan!
  3. Exactly! Why are any of the Potomac women taking pot shots at Karen's financial situation when not one of them would be able to hack it alone without their husbands or ex-husbands? If Karen has her own money and has been filing her own taxes then good for her! It's interesting that the women assumed that Karen signed off on returns - it goes to show they've never filed their own after marriage.
  4. Great to have Potomac back. Karen's situation...why do these women care if Karen knew that Ray was in financial trouble? Don't any of them realize that there might be legal reasons that Karen is acting as if she knew nothing? And what about the possibility that because these are business tax debts, and not personal tax debts, she actually didn't know what was going on. In any event, these women are mean to kick Karen while she's down. I respect any woman who writes her own cheques and manages her own money. I tip my hat to the Grande Dame. It isn't as if Ashley, Monique or Robin can say they've done the same.
  5. But that was the whole point: Alexis had money, but she didn't have her children, didn't have anyone to love, and she didn't have what she conceived to be power. Hers was a lesson that money by itself isn't enough. She wanted it all.
  6. How do you mean? Cookie Lyon of Empire is far closer to Joan's Alexis than Nicollette's Alexis.
  7. I have watched the entirety of 'Enter Alexis' and can make the following comments: They've written Alexis differently and in some ways, they've gone opposite to Joan's portrayal. Joan's Alexis was menacing and a confidence assassin. Vicious but charming. This Alexis is down on her luck and faking her power. They're playing to Sheridan's strengths with this Alexis being more flirtatious and sympathetic and outwardly comedic. It's more Edie Britt than Paige Matheson and nothing like Joan's Alexis. But I enjoy Sheridan as an actress and she brings a lot of energy to this show which is desperately needed. The way they shoot this show takes a lot of the wind out of the dramatic sails of the show. The Alexis line they reused about Fallon having her teeth fixed, if not her tongue, was a bit of a throwaway given how quickly they moved onto the next line. And they've done a lot in this episode - buildup or anticipation, lots of action. That's the CW for you. The strangest element of Alexis' return to the series is to see Cristal not being the active rival for Alexis and for Cristal to make a comment against Blake and for Anders to be an ally for Alexis.
  8. Kim's lips...good lord.
  9. Exactly. Kyle is just awful. Her big fake laugh and big insincere smile. I can't think of a moment where she was anything less than totally selfish.
  10. +1...Rinna hasn't done anything this season. And I haven't even minded. But she shouldn't try and twist what LVP said. Rinna knows she's contributed basically nothing but doesn't like being called out on it. I agree that letting Rinna and Erika go would be wise. Hell, bring on Faye, bring back Taylor. Dig Adrienne up from the grave and see if she'll do it. I was disgusted that Kyle didn't remember Lisa's grandmother. We all know who Nanny Kay is. It demonstrates that Kyle is as superficial as they come. That Erika recalled details with ease shows that, despite whatever else we can say about her, she IS listening. Kyle is all for Kyle. Always has been.
  11. Watching old Alexis clips, you see how skilled an actress Joan is. The writing in season 2 - 4 was good and she amped it up. Yes, I'm sure you're right and that the writers of this version probably think of Colby Co era Alexis, late 1980s Joan with the coiffed Nancy Regan hair, and that's what they know of her, full diva, so that's what they're writing. And that's a shame, because they're writing the character based on the worst writing for her, rather than the sinister writing of season 2 - 4.
  12. I watched her entrance in last night's episode. And then this promo. Nope. Alexis only in name. Nicollette has said in interviews promoting her debut that, although she's known Joan for years, she's never seen her performance as Alexis. It shows. And I wouldn't want to have to live up to it either.
  13. I'm so glad you're enjoying it - I've rewatched it several times. I have what I'd consider a very good knowledge of the Royal Family (given that The Queen is my Queen it's only right that I should)...and this show has just made me respect and revere her more than ever. It also provided me with a greater understanding of Princess Margaret and how she wound up in the position that she did at the end of her life.
  14. I’m with you. I’ve always thought she sucked.
  15. Carole - lord. I didn’t recognize her either. She doesn’t suit being a blonde and whatever she’s done to her face has aged her.
  16. ATL Nene and Kim are both terrible people and as fake as they come. BH Can we please have Camille back full time next season? Her VT’s about the lunch with Lois were flawless. Lisa Rinna’s mother is SO CUTE. I hope she’s lives forever. It was interesting to see LVP thank Rinna for her kindness. Erika remains awful.
  17. The tone is all wrong. Joan's Alexis' first scenes, outside of the witness stand, were with Fallon and Steven. The Steven scene, in particular, when she basically tells him that she accepts him and talks about his childhood, is a beautiful scene and Joan emits a warmth and charm that makes Alexis' cunning in the following episodes effectively jarring. You see the two faces of Alexis. By having Nicollette's Alexis burst in full diva, it shows that all of the subtlety Joan imbued Alexis with is gone. Josh Schwartz is capable of writing a subtle character: Julie Cooper of The OC had these qualities. But it makes me wonder if it's really about whose playing the part. Melinda Clarke succeeded like Joan succeeded and Joan succeeded because Joan did her own thing.
  18. +1. Tell 'em Karen. She is the only one with a decent tagline.
  19. Unfortunately for Nicollette, it appears they are playing Alexis for laughs and smirks with camp in spades. None of what the early seasons (2-4) writing of Dynasty did with Alexis and Joan's menacing performance is in this performance, styling, opening line, etc.
  20. I know that Teddi still keeps up with Kyle thanks to the interview she did with Heather McDonald’s Juicy Scoop podcast (her recaps of BH are hilarious). So it wouldn’t surprise me if Kyle got wise to how badly Erika comes across this season and adjusted her onscreen alliances accordingly. Erika gives ALL the f*cks with how sensitive she is. She can’t keep her anger bottled up an entire season. This is two in a row now. Rinna does look bored but this has been a reparative season for her image because she’s flying mostly under the radar and isn’t looking for conflict. Her VT in last night’s episode where she said she didn’t believe Teddi was stirring anything up is a good example. If she bails, she should bail after one more season where she is lots of fun. End on a high, not a whimper.
  21. The blog is a must read. Teddi annihilated Erika. Erika is already on the defensive calling Teddi’s blog “pure comedy” but we all know why she doesn’t like it: Teddi nailed it. While Dorit is a really crap person I can’t say she’s completely heartless. I can’t say the same for Erika. She is so clinical and cold. The lights might be on but nobody seems to be home. Nasty and cruel. And word with what @Cat said.
  22. First look of Nicollette Sheridan as Alexis...thank goodness Nolan Miller was cremated because he’d be turning in his grave.
  23. She's checked into rehab: http://people.com/tv/heather-locklear-in-treatment-addiction/ It's so sad. Heather is basically living the lyrics of Lana Del Rey's 'Young and Beautiful'... I hope she spends months in rehab. She needs long term inpatient treatment in order to get a handle on this.
  24. Ugh, Erika. What a humourless bitch. I can't wait for her book to flop, just like she flopped on DWTS. She is extremely overestimated.
