  1. Part 2 of the Reunion aired tonight. Unlike most shows on Bravo, VPR ended on a high note with the Reunion episodes being gripping to watch. The ratings also ticked upwards to the reunion, so there does still seem to be some life left in this show...it'll be interesting to see 1) if it returns and 2) how they move forward.
  2. Once I read Heather's statement and Meredith's second statement, it seemed clear to me that Jennie was out. Neither one was going to cooperate with her and the backlash was sufficient that Bravo bailed.
  3. Heather, Whitney, Mary, and Meredith have no political donations to their names, so I'll refrain from ascribing any political affiliations to them. Jen Shah has donated to the Democratic Party PAC ActBlue. I agree with you that this cast is become very toxic very quickly. And they've gone from 0 to 60 in their hatred, especially Meredith and Lisa.
  4. They didn't address it at all. Pathetic. Not that I'm surprised. Lisa Barlow donated to Ted Cruz's presidential campaign back in 2016: https://www.fec.gov/data/receipts/individual-contributions/?contributor_name=Lisa+Barlow&contributor_name=Lisa+Jean+Barlow&two_year_transaction_period=2016
  5. You must be reading the wrong columns. Y&R is down substantially year on year and way down compared to 2020.
  6. I think a lot of that comes down to Drake and Deidre were both comparably 'old' when Brady and Belle were born. Deidre would have been 46 when Belle was born and Drake would have been 39 when Brady was born. Back in the early 1990s they would have been considered 'geriatric' parents. DAYS really wanted to keep John and Marlena as a young, vital supercouple and having children was part of that equation. As a result, the SORASing of their children is really startling.
  7. Apologies if it gave you a fright! However, it's the reality with the way things have been going for Wendy that it could happen. It is, indeed, very sad.
  8. I don't think Bravo cares. If anything, what I find interesting is Meredith, with her private investigator looking up each HW, didn't drop any of these bombs on Jennie herself. In some ways, Bravo likely wants these issues because it leads to potentially explosive moments...but there is something so unsavory about giving really morally bankrupt people a platform at all.
  9. Yvette Mimieux did a photoshoot for Vanity Fair in the early 2000s that showcased how beautiful she remained and how being the wife of a billionaire was a great look on her: Vogue's long form tribute to ALT. https://www.vogue.com/article/andre-leon-talley-obituary?utm_campaign=aud_dev&client_service_id=31193&utm_social_type=owned&utm_brand=voguemagazine&service_user_id=1.78e%2B16&utm_content=instagram-bio-link&utm_source=instagram&utm_medium=social&client_service_name=vogue&supported_service_name=instagram_publishing
  10. The New York Post's latest story. I feel like the end of the show is coming and that these kinds of leaks are ramping up to it: https://pagesix.com/2022/01/18/a-lot-of-truth-to-wendy-williams-show-leaks-about-her-health/
  11. The New York Post is reporting on it. It's very bad. https://pagesix.com/2022/01/19/rhoslc-star-jennie-nguyen-faces-backlash-for-controversial-posts/
  12. You're absolutely right. At the time, the Franco/Sami storyline felt like it would never end but watching it now, it's riveting and I couldn't wait to see the next episode (and this is despite the fact I knew how it would end!). It is surprising to know that DAYS really received no love from the Emmys - no performers, writers, or directors got nominated for that storyline and watching it again Sweeney, Koslow, Dattilo all had material that should have got them nominated. The production values when Sami is in the execution chamber were top notch. It might be that binge watching has become the norm thanks to streaming services and so devouring a storyline like that one in a compressed period of time feels natural. What is evident is back in the late 90s, before the budgets were slashed and trashed, there was a lot of time put into these shows. You can tell the actors had time to rehearse, that the editors had time to add music with thoughtful cues in the dialog, the sets were detailed, large and had depth to them, and while the storylines lagged they also had layers to them. There are scenes between characters that might not get made now because they seem excess to supply, but what they really do is add context and realism to storylines that can seem off the wall.
  13. Those episodes are a total treat. Over Christmas I watched all of the Lucas Shoots Franco Kelly/Sami Execution storyline and was impressed with 1) how great the show looked 2) all the music cues and 3) how riveting it was to watch.
  14. Frasier has aged very well - aside from some dated clothing and technology the show is quite timeless. I agree about Home Improvement. I don't think it had a comparable political sensibility to Roseanne. Tim Taylor had a TV show, a comfortable suburban house, three 'wholesome' sons - it definitely was a Trump ideal family.
  15. Thank you for that information from Shattuck v. Moss. That pay cut Ronn was presented must have really stung and I can understand why he eventually turned it down given it was apparent he would be facing a further cut in 12 month's time. That said, it's now been 10 years and he 'missed out' on approximately $2,500,000.00 - $4,000,000.00 in income. Louise Sorel once said in an interview that Ken Corday was known for paying his actors very well and that it had always been the case for her first run between 1992 - 2000. When she had her first return in 2009 she said things had changed...but she also took the job, so it wasn't so bad as to not be worth it.
  16. Absolutely right. Jen is totally inappropriate with her physical intimidation of the other women. I imagine she's warming herself up for The Big House. The coddling is just...*shakes head* All of these franchises seem to treat criminal behavior with kid gloves. Hell, RHONJ's wives still can't plainly state that Teresa is a convicted criminal who went to prison. For years, she insisted on calling it 'camp'...Jen is no better or worse when it comes to the need to be coddled. She sees herself as a victim against whom others are conspiring. It's a farce, of course, and it will blow up in her face when she's convicted.
  17. Yes, I really will need Meredith to stop saying she's been traumatized when we've seen evidence of nothing aside from the usual internet trolls. If she or her family received real concrete threats, she should highlight that and show them. Instead, she is actually giving Jen Shah a bit of a boost. While Meredith is shrieking about being traumatized, Jen was in the kitchen sampling some food and asking the chef if she'd like some help - which I found funny.
  18. The secondary/recurring characters on Y&R were really fleshed out in ways that no other soap did. I laughed out loud at this. Y&R will never convince me that they couldn't afford to keep those actors around when they threw money at hideous sets that never get used (Dark Horse, anyone?)
  19. Indeed. I also think Meredith overestimates her value to the show. What storyline does she have outside of hating Jen Shah? Seth and his breast implant cake?
  20. SLC Loving Heather as ever. Whitney was looking for a moment at that dinner. It didn't quite land for me. Like she's quaking with anger about Mary and Meredith when neither one seems to give a flying damn about her. Jen Shah has somehow managed to be fun on camera, in a way Erika Jayne has never been, when Jen is under legal fire for far more serious crimes. Do I still think Jen's guilty? Absolutely. But do I enjoy watching her in a way I didn't expect? Also, yes. What I don't understand is why Lisa is so desperate for Meredith and Jen to both like her. If Jen flipped out at me on a bus I would pay her no mind. If Meredith rejected me like she has Lisa, I'd be wary of her. I did enjoy the pool scenes with Jennie on the pool floatie when she can't swim. Meredith should get off this show if she doesn't want to appear at group events and expects the producers to film around her disdain for Jen. The streets are talking that Mary's church is boarded up. I really do not understand how anyone likes her.
  21. I’ve only watched the last two episodes after seeing all of everyone’s comments. This show really had to be seen to be believed. It has destroyed whatever public goodwill Porsha had going into it. The last scene with Dennis was startling. He seemed very reasonable while Porsha was so antagonistic and nasty. And Simon came off…very poorly.
  22. I am heartened by the decision of the Australian Courts. Sayonara, [!@#$%^&*].
  23. I applaud the Australian Minister for doing this. It’s high time somebody stood up for what’s just and fair!
