  1. Agreed on both counts. Lisa's hysterics are gold for SLC and ensure a smooth transition from the Shah era, presuming she's convicted. Given she's the sole holdout on a plea bargain, it will be a dramatic trial, should it proceed that far.
  2. Looks like a great reunion.
  3. Who could blame Angela - Patty Duke stole her Oscar for The Manchurian Candidate. I always found it odd that for as many MGM actors who appeared, and who Angela delighted in giving great paying guest shots that maintained their SAG insurance, major MGM people like Ann Miller or Arlene Dahl never did. I always wondered if those glamour girls treated Angela like sh*t on the MGM backlot and when she finally had some power she exercised it.
  4. They've simply never had a good theme since they discontinued Faces of the Heart.
  5. There are episode of MSW where Jessica encounters mysteries concerning her late husband, Frank, which gave Lansbury her best shots at the Emmy. The Last Flight of the Dixie Damsel (Robin Strasser guest stars) and Thursday's Child (Lansbury's old Hollywood friend Vera Miles plays a woman who claims Frank Fletcher is the father of her child). I also don't think Emmy voters watched the show. Lansbury said it herself that Hollywood didn't watch the show. She has been nominated so many times, for various things, and never won. There has to be some Hollywood politics at play. Perhaps some were jealous of her success.
  6. Pettifleur was just atrocious - but also perfect for the franchise because of how things developed over her seasons…keep your eyes on Gina and Janet around her.
  7. Oh, please don't misunderstand my point, I don't begrudge Angela a single dollar - I love her and applaud her business acumen. I only wish other actresses had been as smart as she was. What I meant by my comment is that despite only doing the show for the money, Angela invested herself professionally in putting out a product that was first class. You can tell from her interviews that she really cared about the show, cared about how Jessica's portrayal translated to the audience, and cared about her crew. Like she said in her Archive of American Television interview, she always wanted to make the show better.
  8. Which lead to very lucrative endorsements with top tier brands: Lansbury's natural warmth lent itself beautifully to television and the 'cozy mystery' genre in particular. There is an oddly timeless quality to Murder, She Wrote that translates internationally. Although Lansbury has openly said she did the show for the money, she raked in $300,000 an episode and owned a piece of the show, which they later sold to Universal, the product was of high quality and has stood the test of time.
  9. I think the top 10 is also a big ol' yikes.
  10. At this point, a comeback for Wendy seems implausible. I wish for health, peace, and happiness for Wendy. Her life has been very turbulent the last few years and something very serious has obviously unfolded. I also wish Sherri success. She is well liked and has proven she can handle her own show.
  11. Absolutely love Niecy - she is superb in all she does. I hope it's picked up as a spin-off - she deserves this kind of success.
  12. I thought some would be interested in seeing the (staged) house of MTS and Ed Scott that they've recently sold for $6.1 million, a significant profit on the $2.3 million they paid for it in 2001. https://www.dirt.com/gallery/entertainers/actors/melody-thomas-scott-house-beverly-hills-1203451438/
  13. Wendy has instructed lawyers to petition Wells Fargo to unfreeze a bank account containing several million dollars that the bank froze after reaching agreement with Wendy in November that Wells Fargo could freeze assets if it suspected dementia or financial exploitation: https://www.google.com/amp/s/news.yahoo.com/amphtml/wendy-williams-asks-judge-unfreeze-171738233.html
  14. Staying on brand, Teddi was the first one evicted from the Celebrity Big Brother House. She lasted 2 days or so?
  15. That's the thing - the issue between Jennifer and the Budget Coven (great name!) has two valid sides and neither side is 100% innocent and they both have legitimate gripes. The video:
  16. So well said. Bill and Agnes were so different in style but equals when it came to talent and commitment to the medium. I remember when they tied for Best Writing in the late 1990s at the Emmys - so deserving. Their shows were the best.
  17. NJ I really enjoyed the premiere and I think it comes down to the relatively organic relationships that this cast has. Jackie, Margaret, and Melissa are clearly friends and see some issues the same way. Although I can understand some seeing them as Mean Girls, I also think they're united on an issue. Jennifer is no shrinking violet and can handle anyone. I think she handled Bill's affair like a champ by owing it. She did nothing wrong and in life we make our own deals. She forgave him and moved on. Her nose...doesn't look good in the premiere. I really do not think she needed to do anything with her nose, her old one was beautiful. I think going out of country for plastic surgery has all kinds of risks, although at least in her case she speaks the language and has family in Turkey. Margaret was messy for dropping Bill's affair like that. I did not like it. It will be interesting to see how things evolve between her and Jennifer as it looks like they have a sit down later in the season. I loved the scenes with the husband's talking about Luis' video. All the Joes and Frank Sr and Evan are hilarious. That video was so cringe that I can't fault any one for going WTF about it. I think Margaret was actually doing Teresa a favour by telling her to just get it addressed and moved on. Gia vs Joe is sad. Joe has been there for those girls through thick and thin and he has every right to hate Joe Giudice. I understand he's their father, but they look at him with rose tinted glasses and ignore the fact that he's a convicted criminal. OC I also enjoyed this episode although I think the chemistry is off and these women appear to be co-workers. Noella is a very strange one. She went from ballistic to apologetic with Heather in the blink of an eye. Shannon is looking so rough. I really hope she addresses her drinking because it seems like she has a problem. Gina's boyfriend, Travis, seems like a very nice guy. I hope they work out.
  18. God bless Eric Braeden...

  20. An interesting development and good for DAYS - the app is something that a lot of their potential audience would miss out on and the revenue opportunity provided by YouTube is greater. B&B, as usual, is leading the way in terms of distribution innovation - have been since the 1980s.
  21. Watch both episodes and laugh at how absurd some of these women are. I don't feel like it's RHONY levels of toxicity - it's more like some of them are being really blunt and flat out saying they don't like each other, so because it's so early in the franchise, there's less personal investment (except for Lisa) so the fallout doesn't feel as nasty.
  22. Heather doesn’t hate Whitney and, oddly, she doesn’t seem to hate Lisa. She is trying to support Jen but I suspect there’s a lot of emotion there. But the rest? Yeah they all hate each other and it’s explosive. Lisa is losing several 10+ year friendships from this show. What she said about Meredith was a pent up tirade. By now we all know Jennie is trash. Mary flatly stating she doesn’t like Jennie was hilarious…but Mary is still a very suspect individual herself. That boarded up ‘church’ of hers is not going away.
  23. US Weekly is such an amateur hour publication compared to the days when Janice Min ran it like a first class gossip magazine. The lawsuit is being refiled in California. This is a fake news headline if there ever was one.
  24. WHEW the Brock of it all. I totally agree. There is really nothing about him that I like and he uses his booming voice and imposing physical presence to make up for the fact that he's dumb as a rock and oblivious to how selfish and irresponsible he's been. LVP is not impressed with him. The Lala and Randall split really needs to be examined because it sounds really dark and scandalous.
