  1. Yes, she received a Pre-Nomination that year as Lead Actress. To me, that was the wrong category but DAYS hasn't had a lot of luck getting its actors nominated over the years. Her fellow Pre Nominee in 2009 was Renee Jones, another actress who should have received an Emmy nomination for the Zach storyline where Lexie turned toward her Dimera roots. She did a lot of very good work in those years and would have had a plethora of scenes to choose from. Kristian Alfonso should have been nominated for Zach's death (anyone else remember that primal scream?). She was only nominated once the mid 80s for Younger Actress and I can understand why she wasn't nominated since, but those scenes were exceptional.
  2. I'd have given Carmen Duncan a Best Supporting Actress Emmy for this scene: The other absolute shame is that Louise Sorel didn't garner a Best Supporting Actress nomination for the Buried Alive storyline. This scene was worthy, she was terrifying: I also think Lauren Koslow should have been nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her work as Kate on DAYS twice. Once, during the 1998 storyline where she framed Sami for Franco's shooting, and again in 2009 when Kate married Stefano.
  3. ATL That was a great finale. If that was a series finale of all the RH franchises, I'd have to say it was wonderful. It had an aura of positivity where all of the women's storylines were wrapped up in a tidy bow. Sheree damn well pulled it off and all the women were so supportive of her. And the support continues on social media tonight as Kenya and Kandi have been Tweeting up a storm about how Sheree is launching drops of merchandise all week long.
  4. BH Rinna is suing the guy who she claimed not to be allegedly working with to conspire against castmates on social media, who it sounds like was invited to the reunion. He's countersuing her.
  5. I would say 'No'. In Canada, when a television show airs on a US Network and a Canadian Network at the same time, the Canadian Network's feed is broadcast on both channels - this is called simultaneous substitution and benefits the Canadian Network's ratings and ad revenue. For example, when Big Brother airs on CBS and Global, the Global feed is on both channels. It's also why Canadians never see SuperBowl advertising - the Canadian feed always takes over. Global often airs DAYS at 1pm, which lines up with the US affiliate's time (at least on the West Coast it does) so Global may have determined that they want to go with simultaneous substitution for whichever program is going to air on NBC. The W Network is available to most Canadians either through cable or streaming and it's a Global sister station and has been the home of all the Beyond Salem content. Another Global station, Slice, has long aired the Real Housewives franchises, whether they air on Bravo or Peacock, so this is par for the course.
  6. LOL love that line. I concur. I haven't watched Dubai consistently because I found it really boring but found the reunion to be quite good. BH Lois Rinna would be ashamed of Lisa Rinna. That she attempts to excuse her behaviour by citing her mother's death is pathetic.
  7. Honestly, I'll take what I can get when it comes to a Jill appearance.
  8. Canadian SON members might recall that when AW was cancelled it was announced on the 6pm national news. The final week of episodes had a lot of promotion on Canadian television. I've never seen fanfare like that for a daytime show before or after. The issue with what NBC has not done insofar as promotion goes is premised on the fact that DAYS is moving to Peacock...while I'm one of those bottom feeders (thanks, Ken Corday) who call it a soft cancellation (which it is), if there's any hope of DAYS attracting subscribers to Peacock, promotion is required - this should have started 60 days ago, not two weeks before D Day.
  9. Diana is 100% not returning. Housewives who threaten to sue bloggers become a PR nightmare for Bravo.
  10. She sounds very paranoid. That's the thing. There's nothing of the Lisa Rinna of yore left. Nothing. She is turning 60 next year and any semblance of a legitimate acting career was thrown away years ago for Housewives. Her QVC line of clothes ended. Her lip gloss products are highly regarded, but those products need promotion and nothing having Housewives would be detrimental. Let's hope After Housewives is imminent for her sake and the sake of the viewer.
  11. RH of Melbourne This is a crisis (copyright Bethenny Frankel). The last season really wasn't that bad, despite Janet having to carry it on her back...all that was needed was the return of Gina and Lydia and perhaps a new wife. It was top tier and one of the best worldwide franchises. RHoBH Time to fire Rinna and Diana. Dollar Store Gabor is a total flop. She really thought she was going to do something with Garcelle with that lame comment about Garcelle being closed off to her. A bigger flop than seen on any RH franchise - she's down there with Peggy of OC, Elizabeth Vargas of OC, Carlton of BH. Rinna just needs to go. She's over. The death of her mother is not an excuse or a rationale for any of her heinous behaviour.
  12. Ken sounds like he normally does: that someone (be it Sony or NBC or a headwriter) has him by the balls and he just wants to keep the show on the air and will do whatever he can to make that happen....whether that means gutting the show like a fish or not.
  13. Thank you for posting. Anna was the first person to come to mind as they were so close.
  14. Wendy looks really unwell in these photographs and appearances in public. It feels like she's circling the drain and the tabloids are on death watch: https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-11106079/Wendy-Williams-stands-barefoot-Versace-robe-mental-physical-health-decline.html
  15. My favourite scene of Anne and Anna and Anne's slap was improvised. Anna Stuart has recounted that they could hear the director saying "Keep going, keep going!" as the scene built and when Anne slapped her, Anna was genuinely shocked, but knew it would look fabulous onscreen, as the director kept saying "Keep going, don't stop!"
  16. A sad end to a once bright life. She was sublime on Another World. As @Vee put so beautifully, she never stopped being talented and it's just sad that her talent wasn't enough to pull her out of her personal despair.
  17. I needed that laugh. Thank you. And thank you, Kathy. Tonight's episode of BH was only good when Kathy had no idea of Melissa Etheridge was: "Who the hell is that?"
  18. I hadn't watched M2M for many years - I don't think I watched after season 2, but it's scheduling in Canada is convenient so I'm watching this season and really enjoying it. I love how Kari is on that cast trip, mic or no mic. Anila and her husband...sigh. Not being able to parent and claiming you're too busy and in need of a nanny...lord help me. Toya I've never enjoyed, so I am all for this Audra lady to get her.
  19. Just a beautiful performance for which she will be well remembered. Anyone who is a Tina Turner fan should also say 'thank you' to Olivia: she is the one who introduced Tina to her manager, Roger Davies. I was in a production of Grease as well so I know exactly what you mean. Anyone who played 'Sandy' knew who they had to live up to.
  20. Thank you for the kind words! How did you like the episode?
  21. Housewives Behind the Scenes Potpourri Allegedly NJ Dolores wasn't invited to Teresa's engagement party because Dina was invited and Dolores had written a letter of support for Dina's ex-husband (Caroline's brother in law) who'd been arrested with the brutal assault of Dina and her husband: https://pagesix.com/2022/05/24/dina-manzo-claims-dolores-catania-wrote-letter-to-free-tommy/ ATL Marlo's abrupt end of her mountain getaway trip? Word on the street is there was a Covid-19 exposure and they had to shut down filming immediately, so production orchestrated the scenes to make it appear that it was Marlo's doing that it all ended. You can note that the following episode appeared to happen weeks later given the kid's birthday parties.
  22. BH One good thing about Covid-19: it has proven that BH does not need any of Kyle, Erika, Rinna, or Diana to thrive. The episodes where they've been taken out by Covid-19 have been great to watch. Kyle: who? Dorit: I think she secretly agrees with Garcelle and Sutton. The lunch scene between Garcelle and Dorit was fun to watch and it seemed to me that Dorit was happy to be with Garcelle, and vice versa. The issue is that Dorit doesn't want to incur the wrath of the Coven. Garcelle: she is a producer like Kyle without being a cloying, traitorous, assh*ole like Kyle. Sutton: someone send this woman to a chiropractor because she's been carrying this show on her back for two season in a row! Erika: the obliviousness of this woman to the truth is amazing and scary. She seems to really believe she's a victim on par with the Lion Air disaster and everyone else Tom fleeced to fund her lavish lifestyle. Dollar Store Gabor: who? Flop. Rinna: this has got to be Rinna's final season, right? She is s shrieking harridan who talks out of both sides of her mouth, exactly as Sutton said she does. I used to really enjoy Rinna before Housewives and it's been a dramatic descent over the years. She has no storyline of her own.
  23. Now that is an excellent analogy. The cynic in me says that this is a best of all worlds for NBC: do a ‘soft cancellation’ of DAYS off network, burn off the last year’s worth of episodes while potentially luring viewers to Peacock, and all while giving a public pitch that they’re moving DAYS forward into streaming.
  24. So is Y&R ignoring that it's Jess Walton's 35th anniversary as Jill Abbott? Sigh.
  25. What an excellent summary. In hindsight a bad deal for Corday that tied up how the show could be marketed and sold, but at the time it probably felt like a dream to be able to get a soap on the relatively new medium of television, and with a large studio behind you to boot - thank you for posting!
