The Tracy Quartermaine Lovefest
Just dropped by to wish all of you south of the border a Happy Thanksgiving. Rusty and I were watching a movie the other day and he thought it ridiculous that there was a blizzard during Thanksgiving. I had to explain that our thanksgiving is closer to the end of summer so we don't have bad weather, but Americans have it on a different date. He's rather puzzled by it all, lol.

I saw it too. I don't know who they think they are with their leather jackets and all black. Couldn't they have made an effort to dress a little more nicely? Wear a colour? Loved how Tracy turned away from them, but that's about it. And WTF with a turkey? Where's the pizza?

This actually sounds like watching. I'm behind on GH - as usual. What are the dates of the LuNacy scenes these past 6 weeks so I don't have to watch anything else?

^^ Yet another example of the 99% against the 1%. I doubt Fronzie and JFP care a whole hell of a lot about the audience - it's more about their business reputation and income, and in all honesty they were only saying what has been widely accepted for decades. WE care about the "older" actors because we remember when they once were our age and had all those scenes. But I've seen many viewers say exactly what those two have said. TPTB aren't stupid - they are in fact far too savvy for the average soap watcher's own good. They are a lot more aware of the trends then we want to accept. We are the ones "behind the times". Now the fact that we're also open minded isn't part of this equation.

^^ Um…. yeah…... Some stories are better left dropped.

No, they aren't. Both are still wearing their wedding rings. Insider says every couple gets something happy for Christmas but no info on what LuNacy might get.

Oh, that does look good. I agree Linnie. I'm amazed people think Luke isn't taking responsibility for Jake when all he's done is try to live under the weight of that guilt. I think what ultimately will help Luke is his ingrained persona as a hero. Along with taking the blame for every bad thing that ever happened to his loved ones, he will also come to their rescue every single time.

The Tracy Quartermaine Lovefest
Somewhere in a past we did have a spoiler that said Luke was trying to play their old games but Tracy wasn't having any part of it - perhaps that's what was happening. As for Luke and the rings, he would not take them off fast - he loves her and he only took them off one time for that phoney wedding way back when TPTB were preying on the LnL fans for ratings. I don't believe for a second that he would take his ring off now without a great deal of agony. Off today to work at National Remembrance Day service then paid work (living in the Capital definitely has some bonuses). I'll check out the show when I can and looking forward to more LuNacy.

That would be great Hooked, Thanks. Don't look to me to comment in a timely manner, I am now only able to see GH through YT so when I do I'll comment. But I will speak to the rings, which is a huge signal that LuNacy will find their way through this and together. Their anniversary is 6-7 weeks from now (second anniversary, I still don't believe May 19th was a con) and I suspect we will be getting some movement by then. Regardless, it's just nice to have LuNacy scenes to look forward to. Now that they aren't being played for laughs, every scene is even more impressive.

Figured the Tracy/AZ/Soleito stuff hadn't been dropped. Unfortunately if GW seems to have one main failing at the moment it's picking up stories and putting them down without much carryover until they again come around to focus. The last few years it has been a Spencermaine Thanksgiving. This year Monica can have her family. I hope Tracy has time with Luke no matter what it looks like, and NOT in the same room as JaSam if it can be avoided.

No, the drug addiction story is continuing but it's more his struggle to resist rather than a complete redux of GV's story (which is what I feared). They have solved part of the story but not who was behind it all. That part is on-going but like Tracy's past, it seems on hold while AZ dealt with Lisa and then being hurt.

I'm not convinced that GW will be the writer who "kills GH", he might very well be the one to take it into the next incarnation - whatever that will be. There is so much politics around GH and soaps in general that I don't believe anyone completely.

Love that Luke and Tracy were tops of the list (can we NOW be done with the Laura speculation???). JJ quitting is great. Hate that Siobhan was wasted on him and really wonder if it was worth loosing Greg Vaughn? Maybe the soap gods will be kind and bring GV back. I'm sure we could find someone for him to play with AND I love that forbidden chemistry with Tracy. Dreams…. I guess this means Aiden will be recast as well. I'm wondering who named the characters in that order, GW or the interviewer.

I don't think it's GW any more than I thought it was Guza. Somewhere back in the 90's - before either man - TPTB made the decision that TG and MB were the stars of the show. GH has always been more man-focused than woman. Look at the families, they are all patriarchies. Not a single matriarchy in the bunch. Sometimes you've just got to play the pieces on the board. Root change takes a lot longer. I'm interested in one example outside of Aunt Ruby of a truly female-headed household. On OLTL Vicki and Dorian were always heads of their own households and on AMC Erica was the ultimate Matriarch. GH has never had the equivalent - even Bobbie's family was either Brock's or Tony's.

That's definitely one way to pull the family together. Nothing like a good old soap story about a baby facing death and another family member being the "salvation", especially the estranged family member. Even though it's cliche, I'm looking forward to seeing our little Spencer family focused on something other than substance abuse.

the only reference I've seen is Luke talks to himself - I'm sure that will be an interesting conversation…. Tracy is in spoilers….. with Luke….. that's about all I care about at this point.

The Tracy Quartermaine Lovefest
Mmmm…. intriguing. Whatever it is, I love the fact that "his girls" drive Luke into whatever it is he will struggle with (I'm guessing the bottle). Both Lulu and Tracy are struggling with what to do in their lives and where to look for support, playing it close to the vest and generally making themselves miserable with their lack of truth telling. BTW, I'm up to date and what was that foolishness I read awhile back that Carly is another Spencer who turns her back on Luke? That didn't happen. There was the usual honesty and Spencer respect between them. I really liked their scenes.

I'm finally caught up (though missed the boat stuff) and I didn't see anything extremely strange about Ethan, the picture and the pumpkin. I thought it rather well explained when he said he's been curious about Laura and the connection Lulu/Lucky have. Poor boy lost his adoptive parents young and Holly isn't exactly "Mother of the Year". I didn't seem obsession.

The Halloween stuff wasn't OTT - and Emma was adorable.

I also don't think anything has been dropped surrounding the story of Tracy. AZ is obviously occupied right now, and it does make sense that a megalomaniac be involved with more than one nefarious plot, but if the conversation still carries the story then it's still on the table. If there had been no reference then it might be a different story.

I'm curious to see what they are doing with Spinelli. (The basket ball was more disturbing than the jack'o'lantern IMO.)

And poor Maxie - she's getting it from all sides. Arguably most of it is her own doing, but she is really quite heartbroken at the moment and yet can't see the joy that is right in front of her.

Krissy looks so good - it pisses me off they are getting rid of Lexi. The next actress will have some huge boots to fill, but it was clear that she's going to cume back from Yale spitting bullets that Sonny did what he did. Great set up even if I don't like part of where it's leading.

Even as boring as I find Lucky on a good day (oh… how I miss Greg Vaughn) this Celtic adventure has me curious. Siobhan was one of the best things to happen to the character after the return/recast and I hope they can give us something that is considerably more interesting than Ronan. The inn keeper was right - things on the Isle are quite different then from the US. The Diva has been quite intrigued as the Isle is her desired travel destination. A beaconing to the diaspora, I'm thinking.

All in all it's mildly entertaining. Not sure it's worth giving up my time for regularly, but it certainly hasn't disgusted me by its lack of balance.

Sweet. The love between Jane and Julie has never been a secret. And I love her attitude - sometimes being "taken under their wing" is incredibly harmful. In a cut throat business you have to have the goods up front. If you don't and are almost protected from reality, it will really bite you when you least expect it. I'm wondering if that wasn't part of the issue with Lexi. Still not caught up on GH, though I read the Halloween episode yesterday was good.

In a perfect world, Lisa (if I couldn't have original Claudia) could have been Tracy's daughter and really stirred it up.

I was commenting on another board but it holds true with GH as well - why are the lesser actors given such constant attention and stories while those who can really act are given second rate crap? While I might like Sam in doses, Kemo and LW can't hold a candle to JE or KM or a few others with serious skills, and yet they are given all the frontline stores while the best actors/actresses languish. It's ass-backwards IMO. It's almost like the old studio system with the proverbial "Casting Couch" to get roles. I'm not suggesting it literally, but it's the same idea that those who have the stuff are passed over by those who have the fluff.

It's not even "Robin Hate". I have quite enjoyed the character over the years, but this latest version is not thrilling me in the least. If she was given something to do rather than push her humourless type-A on everyone, I might be more open to her. I just don't think the character was worthy of a psycho like this. I would much rather have a Faison Take II type of villain that would have pushed her to be a real Scorpio then this foolishness over Patrick.

Thanks Baby Boy, but I already knew that one. Shame too - IMO Lisa as she was portrayed when BB first took over the role is worth 10 Robins and 50 Patricks, yet her character was ruined to prop one of the most boring, rushed and overly-propped pairing in recent history. (And that's saying something in Sonny's World.)

From what I'm seeing, if you are a fan of particular couples, then there are things to talk about. Right now JaSam and Scrubs are getting the focus - and since both of them bore the hell out of me even in Guza's day, I don't bother sticking around for the rest. The thing is this is what fans wanted. I have to laugh. I've said it before, fans in general don't know decent story from paint drying. Giving the fans "what they want" and you aren't going to have anything to build more story around. From what I'm seeing, GW's primary problem is he pays too much attention to details so scenes and days last forever. He's also managed to get rid of a lot of the character/actors I like so it really hasn't been exciting me. Perhaps he does have great stories to tell, but the build up is taking forever, and then in the case of Tracy's story, takes breaks along the way. Perhaps this is actor driven and can't be helped, but it's still upsetting to the flow.

I hope it does pick up soon - 'cause that is the only way we pick up in here. You know it's slow when the Ford brothers on OLTL is top of this list and not the TQLF. Oh well, bumping her back to the top as is proper.

Guess I'll have to watch. I'm so behind on GH I'm not sure where to start.
