  1. Wendy hangs around for a while after Scott departs (she is recast) Eleanor is vulnerable to Lew Dancy's charms as is Doreen Aldrich. Noticed in the bed scenes b/w Mike and Toni that Armand Assante was showing off shoulder and above the ass hair, no way would that be happening with today's leading men.
  2. Any appearance by Constance Ford gave off lesbian vibes...
  3. Pat Falken Smith commented re Gloria that Ms Monty criticized every outline and she (PFS) had enough of feeling like a failure.
  4. Dec 1976 For the past year rumors about homosexual characters characters on soaps have been making the -rounds. According to one producer, gays will never be portrayed portrayed on afternoon television. "Love of Life's" Tom de Velliers insists: "Daytime television is a very special medium. It would be impossible to have a homosexual story line. We have the time to get into some very heavy love scenes. How could we possibly present a loving gay couple and not show them loving? "If we did present an intimate love scene between the same sex, I wouldn't want to be in the office when the phone started ringing." When Tom was associated with the now-defunct, "Love Is a Many Splendored Thing," a gay story line was hinted. "We considered probing the situation with the Betsey Chernak character. We just got into the story line when we decided we better get out," said Tom. '
  5. 1979 IN A SURPRISING MOVE, ABC announced that it will replace "General Hospital" headwriter Doug Marland with Pat Falken-Smith Falken-Smith Falken-Smith beginning Aug. 6. It's surprising because headwriters are usually replaced only when a show's ratings are in trouble, and "GH" has enjoyed top-ranking top-ranking top-ranking status since Marland began scripting the show two years ago. Marland chose to bow out when California-based California-based California-based "GH" wanted him to move there from his Connecticut home. Producer Gloria Monty, apparently, wants to be in closer contact with her headwriter, and Ms. Falken-Smith, Falken-Smith, Falken-Smith, who was the headwriter of "Days of Our Lives" a couple of years ago, lives practically next door to the "GH" studio.
  6. AC Weary Breon Gorman Frances Reid Helen Wagner Nicholas Surovy Peter White Alice Haining Robert Newman
  7. Re Martin e Brooks as Darren Match. I thought Darren was MJ's brother played by Arthur Brooks? Or have I got it wrong?
  8. Jada Rowland (Amy) with the Jed Allan version of Paul Britton
  9. Althea and Robin (jenny Wright)
  10. There were 4 Brians in 4 years Paul Joynt Larry Joshua Gene Peitragallo Jay Acavone Didn't Tomothy Patrick Murphy's Spence character also pretend to be Brian?
  11. Interesting re Celeste. I recall she played a 'bag lady' named Clara?
  12. French Fan's synopses have Marland taking over in Sept 85. It seems the Kim secret admirer story was his first new plot.
  13. Seeing that pic of Cole has me thinking he could come back. Maybe Cole could have played the JT abuse storyline. He did have a crazy mom...
  14. Writers sometimes use names special to them ...Bill Bell in particular was known for this. Maybe there was a special Caroline in Marland's life? I know his mother's name was Beatrice and he used that name at AYWT, GL, GH and AW. Were there any Bea's/Beatrice at Loving or TD?
  15. Cass and Lila and Jake and Vicky came over because ATWT and AW aired in the same timeslot and CBS were hoping NBC viewers would switch allegiance in that timeslot.
  16. I read that ATWT had to take Eplin because his contract was with P&G not AW. Otherwise he would have had to be paid after AW was cancelled until the contract expired. So they had to integrate Jake to make their financial investment pay off. The minute that contract expired Jake was out. Am I correct about this??
  17. When Linda returned they obviously felt that Gretel wasn't a suitable name for the character this time around, so Rae was created. I think that was Linda's middle name also.
  18. Gary Tomlin was also a temp David Hart on LOL.
  19. I That writer list puzzles me in that Katherine Babecki is listed as headwriter from 1966 - 70. Everything else I've read confirms that Irna was head writer through to early 1970, when she departed to work on A World Apart. I wonder if Katherine Babecki is actually Irna's daughter Katherine Phillips and perhaps she was an assistant writer at that time. Then Katherine Phillips is listed as a headwriter in 1970 when she and her mother were writing A World Apart, I've only seen Joel (not Joe) Kane as headwriter in 1970, who was soon replaced by Winifred Wolfe who continued as hw until Irna returned late 71/early 72. Never seen Rouverol &co listed as hw's in 81 unless they were short term until the Dobsons resumed.
  20. Some interesting things posted Never knew that there was another Bitsy on AMC apart from Ann Flood or that Richard Council, Philip Sterling and others had so many roles. So many low profile actors toiling away in soaps... My next requests Dick Latessa Gary Tomlin Eddie Velez patricia Estrin James Noble Audrey Landers Celeste Holm Kimberly Beck
  21. Here's another summary of the Lisa story from 1972. That makes it an Irna story as she returned in Jan 72. I vaguely recall an interview where Irna had read about a woman in this situation and thought it was an interesting subject to dramatize. Following the end of Bob's marriage to Sandy, Nancy has been trying to get Bob to take Lisa back. Yet Nancy's efforts are for naught as Bob falls in love with and marries Jennifer. Lisa soon takes up with Don, who once despised her for the way she treated Bob when she was married to him. Lisa becomes even fonder of Don after he becomes buddies with her son Chuck. Don is, however, a bit reluctant to make a full commitment to Lisa. One day, Lisa starts experiencing pregnancy symptoms. Since she doesn't want Don to think she's trying to trap him into marriage, Lisa goes to Memorial Hospital for an abortion. Dr. Eric Lonsberry performs surgery on Lisa and finds out that she really isn't pregnant after all. She was suffering from an ovarian cyst that had caused the pregnancy symptoms. Rick Ryan, now a young intern, happens to be on duty during Lisa's ordeal and he concocts a lie to try to stop his mother's planned wedding to Bob. Rick tells Jennifer that Lisa thinks Bob was the father of her lost baby. Jennifer refuses to fall for the ploy and goes ahead with her scheduled marriage to Bob.
  22. What puzzles me about Eileen's appearances in later years is that she must have had some guarantees in her contract. If she signed on for and agreed for say, an average of one appearance a week, then why complain about not being used more? If she made that clear and hoped for more that would make more sense. I can't believe ATWT would not use her if she was getting paid for more...
  23. No, I rechecked and it stated that Lloyd Bridges would be on Brighter Day. It made references to Sea Hunt so it was definitely LB. That pic was from 67,so Hank Latimer would have been older by then.Justin Sterling played him in 65,at what age I don't know but two years later he wouldn't have been so young.
