  1. Thanks for the answer @Khan. I also liked Stephanie and Sally, and I agree that many of Bill Bell's storylines on B&B were dust offs of Y&R storylines.
  2. Did you like the Bill Bell years at least? Yes, when Bill Bell was in charge.
  3. It seems to me so many moves CBS made in primetime during the second half of the 1980s were to fill space in the schedule because so many new shows they launched were one season and done.
  4. Kimberley Simms, Sherry Stringfield, Beverlee McKinsey all left w/in weeks of each other. While Fall 1992 wasn't bad, their departures left a huge void in the canvas.
  5. So there's going to be some cut scenes. I believe the initial broadcast syndication package was the first 6 seasons. TNT and Soapnet might have done some of their own cutting in the later seasons.
  6. Larsa Pippen and Marcus Jordan allegedly broke up due to his drug use. Larsa Pippen Reportedly Thinks Marcus Jordan Lied About Drug Use (vibe.com)
  7. There was a darkness and sadness that surrounded everything and it was painful to watch. There were times I was like "make it make sense". That whole storyline was a dust off of The Sound of Music. I don't feel he was rewarded, to me he was defeated and tired of fighting. That was awful. I'm so glad I did not see it in real time. Business arrangement marriage that turned into a love/hate relationship. I don't feel they had a genuine love.
  8. CBS messed up their Thursday lineup in Fall 1986. Magnum, P.I. was effectively over Spring 1986 after being slaughtered by The Cosby Show, but in Fall 1986 CBS moved it to Wednesday 9 pm head-to-head w/ Dynasty. Magnum, P.I. was able to win the time slot a few times, but it was still below the Top 30. Simon & Simon got clobbered by Cheers in 1985/86 but w/ the move to 8 pm head-to-head w/ The Cosby Show it was DOA. Simon & Simon was moved to 8:30 pm then back to 9 pm, but the damage was already done. Knots Landing was moved up to 9 pm where it was weakened by Cheers. CBS saw the error of their ways and moved Knots Landing back to 10 pm but then NBC moved L.A. Law to Thursday 10 pm and Knots Landing got weakened further. Designing Women bounced around the schedule in its rookie season, Monday 9:30 pm to Thursday 9:30 pm to Sunday 9 pm then back to Monday 9:30 pm. Apparently it was cancelled in Spring 1987 then uncancelled. Thursday would remain a CBS dead zone until Survivor and CSI.
  9. I don't believe that Hotel was a better show than Knots Landing in 1983/84. I know we disproved Hotel as a time slot hit, but I can't help but feel that it was one.
  10. A Martinez was on L.A. Law from 1992 to 1994, so JFP must have approached him sometime after L.A. Law ended. Perhaps he was JFP choice for Detective Cutter.
  11. Peter Brown also appeared on Bill Bell Days, Y&R, B&B. Bill Bell Days to Y&R: K.T. Stevens, Margaret Mason, Susan Seaforth Hayes Bill Bell Days to B&B: Susan Flannery Y&R to B&B before the cross-overs: John McCook, James Storm, Lauren Koslow, Darlene Conley Wes Kenney also brought Tracey Bregman to Y&R. She credited him in her Emmy speech for her being cast on Y&R. I think Scott Palmer was another Wes Kenney era Days actor that came over to Y&R. Also John Wesley Shipp, Gregory Beecroft, Ellen Dolan on Guiding Light and As the World Turns when Doug Marland wrote for both shows. Tom Langan brought over 1980s Y&R stars to Reilly Days: Deborah Adair, Eileen Davidson, Nick Benedict, Jaime Lyn Bauer, Lauren Koslow.
  12. You're welcome. At this time, NBC was a mess across the board. As we all know, NBC would not recover in primetime until The Cosby Show came along.
  13. What recasts or new characters in the JFP years do we think she tried to get her friends cast in, but the friend wasn't interested? I pointed out earlier that I think JFP wanted one of her friends for Alan recast but the friend turned down the part.
  14. @Paul Raven That's the week of February 15-21, 1982.
  15. The last two Summer Olympics hosted in the USA (Atlanta 1996 and Los Angeles 1984) were criticized for commercialism so I don't think Los Angeles 2028 will be any different. Remember too that Los Angeles 1984 was considered the most financially successful Summer Olympics.
  16. He's giving it his all acting-wise. He could be phoning in it to ride out his contract and collect the checks but he's not.
  17. Re: Robin Wright/Princess Bride/Santa Barbara contract. The Princess Bride was filmed August-December 1986, so 5 months. Assuming NBC initial soap contracts were three years, Robin Wright initial Santa Barbara contract would have ended July 1987 but her last episode was broadcast June 1988. So it seems NBC gave her 5 months off to film The Princess Bride, but added 11 months to her initial contract.
  18. 100% this. It bears repeating, EB is carrying the show on his back. He's the real MVP.
  19. Nancy Curlee was gone from the writing team in March 1994, maybe some of her material was still being used up until OJ.
  20. Men's basketball USA gold, France silver, Serbia bronze. Steph Curry 🥰 Highlights of these Olympics for me were Celine Dion in the opening, the feel good stories of South Sudan basketball and USA table tennis and basketball bonding, Noah Lyles getting humbled, and Steph Curry getting a gold medal.
  21. @DRW50 That episode is November 14, 1989.
  22. USA/France game tomorrow is going to the LeBron James and Kevin Durant show, just watch. Maybe Steph Curry as well. I was shocked USA messed up that bad.
  23. Yes. I'll always maintain that Belief was Bill Bell's last hurrah before passing the reigns to Bradley.
  24. Perhaps Sharon emotional breakdown is going to lead to a standalone episode for Sharon Case 30th anniversary in September.
  25. Noah Lyles got bronze and he has COVID. In men's basketball, Serbia gave USA a scare but USA came through. Steph Curry 🥰 Predicting USA gold, France silver, Serbia bronze.
