  1. LOL we were talking about her a few days ago on DTS in the topic of older characters giving birth about Lyla; how Maggie was suppose to be the much younger sister of Lyla although I believe Sward is actually younger than Rapeleye. That said I don’t mind Frank & Maggie or the story they had with Cal & Diana from what I’ve seen but they certainly weren’t the most memorable thing going on.
  2. I completely agree with this. I have been rewatching Dallas on Amazon Prime and finally have gotten to later seasons. I really enjoyed the story Michelle did with Barbara Eden haha I know it was panned but I found it rather entertaining. That last season characters like Michelle, Cally and Liz made the show but they had to tangle with old JR, Cliff, and McKay(I really enjoyed George Kennedy on Dallas, was glad him and Rose got back together before the finale lol).
  3. Lisa’s stories for the early 70’s sound so strange, even as as late as 1975. I figure they wanted to mature her but had no idea what to do with her. When did the show kill over her son Chuckie? Seems kind of strange to do that along with “phantom” pregnancy. My guess is Lisa having to go toe to toe with Janice is how she got her groove back. As for Bathlomew I didn’t realize her was EP during this time. If I recall right he was once a popular child actor that was long forgotten by the late 70’s by the time his attempts to helm both ATWT and SFT proved futile.
  4. Thanks so much! Sounds like she was a classic soap vixen/femme fatale. I never knew John had an affair with her or was so adulterous around this time like he was in his final years. I’m always fascinated by the Lenore character, especially spending years trying to keep her deceased husband’s crime of murder well covered up.
  5. Re: AW 1972 what kind of character was Bernice Robinson like?
  6. I feel bad for Lawrence St. Victor. I remember he started off as green on GL and was heavily criticized as the “prestigious acting school graduate” although to be fair the writing for Remy pretty lousy as even though he suppose to be a good guy he was written to be antagonistic. I admit I did enjoy final story with Karla Mosley’s character even though it was silly at least. I’ve enjoyed St. Victor on B&B it’s shameful that the show has given him so very little to do. It reminds me of how B&B hired that guy who was the winner of the first season of “I Wanna Be a Soap Star!” on SoapNet not long after his brief winning stint on GH ended. They hyped it up how he was Lt. Baker’s son and how he’d be more involved on the show but ended up being a worthless bit player for years before he stopped appearing.
  7. Weirdly wasn’t that Miguel dressed up as the Native American Chief going after Esther? I remember reading something form 1984 Y&R where Miguel & Esther had some flirtatious scenes scenes never addressed again and Miguel apparently mentioned a brother who went to law school while Esther mentioned having a brother on screen. Years later I remember reading Skip Evans was planned to be Esther’s brother while John Silva was suppose to be Miguel’s brother but they decided against making any connections WTH? But then again I remember reading this from the same source that claimed Skip died in a motorcycle accident in 1991, something I have never verified and will never repeat as fact unless proven true.
  8. I was pretty disgusted with Passions handling of rape after rape and doing things out of spite just for pure shock value but I do remember the show’s main villains like Alistair and Rebecca being openly racist/sexist/homophobic etc. But I do remember it was a large stampede of disgruntled lesbians led by Simone is what killed Alistair Crane in 2006 with Kathleen Noone’s character shouting out “Thank God for the lesbians!” I remember I think it was Toups’ great assessment after JER’s passing that I will always remember that by that point it was a complicated Reilly just trying to communicate his thoughts out to the world.
  9. Wow I almost forgot how I did like Toni and Etta Mae on AW in its final years along with Chris, Tyrone and the last Dana. I remember liking from what I saw of Zach and Julie Ann from the SoapNet reruns but found it odd the show had them as brother & sister given what I thought was chemistry LOL. Zach(played by a younger James Pickens!) was brought on for Quinn as her last love interest before she was murdered. I wonder whatever happened to the actress who played Julie Ann. Early 80’s AW always sounds like an interesting as far as having a diverse set of characters like Quinn, Thomasina, the Todd Brothers, Roy, Henrietta, Abel & Leo etc. I wonder how much front burner airtime they actually did get. Lemay & Rauch had Linda Metcafe last as a supporting for almost a decade and was even given a love interest on screen in a cop who if I remember right died in a fire(?)
  10. I don’t remember if they did or not but I did catch Lauren giving the side eye to Gina! Brad & Colleen were sweet, I don’t recall Colleen ever interacting too much with Victor at all until after Brad died and she got his board seat and Victor humiliated her. Ugh.
  11. Y&R Sept 2001-I recall this was right at Scott’s tenure as EP was ending, with Nikki gone due to 11th hour contract negotiations as Christopher Douglas replaced as Sean by the actor in this episode due to Alden & Scott feuding. That said another gorgeous ep and I was glad at the time that Lauren was back on Y&R again. Cassie was such a wonderful kid to watch.
  12. Kevin & Chloe? A dreadful couple that should have been killed off a long time ago!
  13. The last mention of DJ Craig, was that in 2006 when Marlena had gotten her memory back? I recall her briefly mentioning his death but she didn’t mention Don by name, I wonder who wrote that script.
  14. It was one of those storylines I think Belk & Co. instantly regretted as they swept it under the rug real quick and I think it was originally intended for all purposes that Lily was indeed Neil’s daughter. But it was a rape and stated on screen as such. I do remember a lot early online folks later would see Malcolm as a massive hypocrite when fighting with Neil. I don’t remember it being a big deal in the soap press it was probably overshadowed in coverage by all the sexual misdeeds that went on with Austin/Sami/Lucas/Carrie over on Days. The cold medication regrets didn’t stop the show later from Nick having sex drunk with Grace thinking it was Sharon. In fact Thudley over at B&B even gave Ridge & Brooke an even more trashier cold medication sex story in 2006.
  15. It really was. Megan McTavish did a horrific number on GL in 1996 it was one of many trashy abhorrent storylines that aired that summer until her firing.
  16. Considering what all was going on the show at time it wasn’t that bad of an umbrella event although it wasn’t all that great either. As for Sharp after he left ATWT I recall another soap, I think PC hired him and hyped it up like ATWT did that they had hired him yet next thing I knew he was under SOD’s Who’s Goings section. I don’t think Monti has done anything daytime since.
  17. Yikes I remember that too! Aside from Ben & Camille I wasn’t impressed by anything ATWT had tried in the late in the ‘90’s. I remember the show hyped it up big they hired Monti Sharpe so of course his character was a filthy creep.
  18. That was so randomly awkward and bad but I know a few people actually thought was “groundbreaking” she said that but the character of Denise really fell apart after that and then we had that of her and Andy which could have been really interesting but ended up pretty twisted & wretched. I remember the actress had been alright on AW but this was a mess.
  19. It looks like this 1999 episode could so easily air today it’s gorgeous. I was so disappointed when they lost at the Daytime Emmys right after what a year 1999 was for Y&R.
  20. I was looking at old episode counts it is a testament that Bryton has survived so long as Devon. I mean Bryton was a contract player who only appeared in a total of 20 episodes in 2010, he was almost a goner.
  21. Thanks for that. All I remember about Zach and Felicia was that some goon was after them over gambling debts. I find it interesting Colleen Dion was such a soap hopper (AW, that awful ATWT psycho role, and her two minutes on GL) and never really committed long to one soap yet acted shocked when Felicia was recast.
  22. The Grant family was dismantled in 1996. Instead we a had a trashy triangle between Marcus/Dahlia/Sugar Hill and later the Bourdreau’s came on with not much to do. Gilly got engaged to Alan’s deviant lawyer Sid Dickerson but she broke it off after seeing Sid’s true colors as he attacked witnesses on the stand and got Alan off the hook for aiding and abetting Brent Lawerence. She then met and developed feelings with Griffith Williams, a man who had a past with her mother Vivian. Just as Gilly and Griffith were about sleep together, Vivian rushed in to reveal that Griffith was Gilly’s father! A disgusted Gilly left town to find herself. David ended up being recast a couple times, had a brief marriage and brief relationships with Bridget and Vicky Spaulding and was on and off until 2000/2001 or so. Charles Grant would occasionally still pop up as the head of Cedars through the mid-00’s.
  23. Oh Lord that reminds of the Golden Girls episode of when Blanche reunited with her “mammy” played by Ruby Dee that made a “Mammy” Eisenhower joke.
  24. That’s a great point and it was nice to finally see them air a classic without Ridge, Brooke, Taylor etc. so heavily involved.
  25. Thanks! I knew one of Margo’s last stories was having an affair with Taylor’s ex husband and divorcing Bill Sr. How much longer was Felicia on for before Dion left for AW? She had a relationship with Taylor’s brother but they didn’t seem to be together long before they left LA together.
