  1. Olivia’s confrontation with Nathan didn’t happen until like Feb or March of 1996. If I recall right Dru was with her and epically told Nathan he was “PITIFUL!!!” Nathan left town at end of ‘93/early ‘94 in disgust over the whole Lillie Belle situation, especially as her living with the Hastings took a serious toll on him. The actor Randy Brooks left Y&R for a role on AW which ultimately ended up being thankless unfortunately. At some point later in ‘94 is when Adam Lazarre-White was cast around the same time Vivica Fox was cast. Nathan and Olivia were at that point talking about having a second kid but Nathan was still very disillusioned. I don’t even remember how Nathan met Keesha aside from Olivia getting mysterious phone calls in the summer of 95. Nathan as a villain made for good story at the time but definitely looking back it is very bewildering and heartbreaking they had him go that route. They at least redeemed Nathan’s final days when Olivia reunited with him in Heaven during Olivia’s aplastic anemia story in 2000.
  2. I’m slowly catching up lol but was Lola’s final scenes her announcement she was leaving town to go to that celebrity cooking school in Florida or something? What an exit stage left for a character once shoved down our throats.
  3. Same. The last time I felt any optimism for a soap’s survival was unfortunately GL’s in 2009 which by that point I complacent and assumed at the end of the day GL would still get renewed despite the usual worriedness as I had grown accustomed to.
  4. Glad to hear this, the pandemic brought me back to Days to watch more often. I was about to write the show off for good with this latest round of negotiations tbh so I’m glad Days has been renewed for two years instead of the usual one with all the drama involved.
  5. Hmm, hadn’t thought of Jeff yet but it does make sense given he’s pretty much never fully recovered from his car crash and poisoning in Season 2. Jeff’s death would give Alexis a lot more power that’s for sure.
  6. Yep that is Evan. Evan is the brother of the drunk underage girl who was found the pond. Initially he was sabotaging Fallon out of revenge but then developed unrequited feelings and has became obsessed being her. So far though all of his schemes have completely backfired.
  7. Liam is definitely too obvious. At the moment I would wager it’s some peripheral character like Laura or Evan. We’re allegedly supposed to see more characters show up for the funeral to rule them out, so it may very well be Culhane or someone like Anders who of course died in the original.
  8. Lol fair point, especially for some of the longer seasons of Dallas, Dynasty, and Knots. So far there is no indication this incarnation’s of Moldavia is like the original. The Moldavians so far have been presented as terrorists, with Moldavia being something more akin to a Post Soviet Republic like Belarus, Turkmenistan, or even the real Moldova.
  9. I think you gave a great assessment on the show! I watched the Season 4 premiere as well and found it harmless fun. Interestingly for the first time in forever this show actually felt a lot more mature that it was in Season 3 where it was just wacky and over the top campy. I am guessing a lot of this has to do with the fact we're actually back with the same cast for change LOL, at least for now. Although why Culhane is still around I have no clue lol but at least the actor is nice to look at. Still the show runs at lightning speed...the public reveals of the fact Blake slept with Laura and Cristal slept with the priest should have been more shocking and juicier than it was presented but it wasn't. Aside from two seconds of jaw drops and gasps Liam & Fallon were very unfazed aside from Fallon's rant about everything getting ruined and by episode's end all seemed okay for now. The OG callbacks have been interestingly tangled in all over from various seasons in the new Dynasty. As it stands we've had barn fires, Claudia go absolutely crazy again and die, Alexis shoot Mark and cause Cristal's miscarriage, Alexis and Cristal pool fight, Adam as Michael Torrance, Blake on murder trial with Hendrix making her debut the same way Alexis did at the end of S1 in the original, now the show is talking about Moldovia etc. with of course some various twists on the original thrown into the mix. It'll cause whiplash if you wrap your head around it. Maybe it's because I have no standards when it comes to this show, but Hendrix has made a better Alexis in my opinion than Sheridan did. I am quite sure Joan Collins loses no sleep though LOL. As for Sam there's been a gap even since Steven left but at least the actor is sexy/charismatic and I approve of casting Lachlan Buchanan as his new love interest. Hope this show doesn't waste him the same way Y&R did.
  10. Hadn’t heard anything yet. My guess if Zoe isn’t recast she’ll probably walk in on Quinn & Carter and then run off to Europe to reunite with Xander off screen or something.
  11. I never understood how Deas won those Emmys in the mid-90’s tbh except for the Academy always loving a previous winner. Likewise while I did always like Buzz & Jenna most of the stuff with Nadine wasn’t fun at all and it felt Nadine was settling for less than she had done in the past .
  12. Leslie having a kid with Mike would have worked too as they were soulmates but Hope started to get more later teenage stories. Not to mention in a way that would’ve made Leslie the 70’s version of Reva or Brooke Logan lol, something the stodgy P&G daytime world wasn’t quite ready for. There were other things too on that downhill slope. I know @DRW50 mentioned the Pauly Hardman story along with Buzz & Nadine’s Vegas wedding but there was also Josh & Tangie, Alan’s return with that Howie/Ross impersonator guy, Ed & Eve, Dusay Alex vs. Crampton Monday, and saying sayonara to Kat in favor of Gabriela? Yikes! The second Fifth Street fire was a ploy for ratings I think Douglas Anderson was HW by that point and the show was dragging.
  13. Can’t speak so much for Nixon aside the from fact she may have or may not have killed off an entire family via plane crash(or was it car crash?) on AW that she didn’t care for lol. Nixon is also seen by some as abandoning OLTL and Loving at some point, something Bell would’ve never done. Irna was notorious for some pretty unpopular ruthless writing and production making decisions on GL, ATWT, AW, Peyton Place etc. Her finally run at ATWT has always been widely panned and did cause the show to stumble. Bell’s entire 25 years at Y&R is well studied because it’s an anomaly in all of daytime. Other writers like Labine and the Dobsons got pushed out of their own shows. Y&R came out as more successful eliminating its early years compared to other soaps and bounced back well in the recasts department compared to Ryan’s Hope. I do agree Bell should’ve tried harder to keep around Liz Foster permanently but I think did realize when a character reached their useful end, although a lot of exits on Y&R have been much left desired as leaving us always asking “what if..?” and/or those disappearances without explanation whether it was Dina in 1986 or Leanna in 1992.
  14. Thank you for your that, Staab was my favorite Hart and what had been such a hot story suddenly screeched to a halt. 1993 ended on a high note with Roger creeping around trying to figure out who shot him but 1994 was the moment the show spiraled for sure....I usually start with the Frank & Julie mess 🙈
  15. The one thing I feel that set Bauer’s fates were the needless miscarriages over the years...Mike & Charlotte’s, Ed & Rita’s, and Ed & Maureen etc. While I can see that Ed & Rita’s played up into the heightening drama & tension at the time the other two don’t make sense. It’s as tawdry as Dan & Susan’s first miscarriage over on ATWT. The lost Bauer cousins went over as well as the lost Cory cousins on AW at the time or lost Jett Carver on Days lol. ATWT did the same thing a decade later but found success with Jack Snyder at least.
  16. Given everyone in that photo looks weary eyed I’d say sleeps for sure 🥴 Need some Sally here for sure!
  17. Thanks, just had seen the promo video on Twitter of the basement caving in on them but for someone reason I couldn't get the link to share. It looked like some messy disaster ATWT or GL would have tried to done circa 2007. I'm guessing the returning individual is Chance? Because right now that is indeed one DISMAL storyline.
  18. Apparently a tornado hits Genoa City? First up is SoapDirt's spoilers:
  19. I am happy to have Brown back as Sheila regardless of Brown's political beliefs (as zany as I think they are!) but the story has got to be there. The cliffhanger of Sheila's 2017 return was extremely well done but there was no story except that Sheila wanted back with Eric and her portrait hanging over the fireplace. The twist of her blackmailing James went nowhere, and then it just petered out as Sheila worked as an eavesdropping gossiping waitress. Yikes! That said hopefully Brown will give this show energy if she is indeed returning, give us something different than the Liam Half-Hour.
  20. Let’s face it, if there was one good thing JFP did was to rid the show of Da Stafford©️ There was zero demand that she return at all and her return has failed on every level so much that now I see former GT haters longing for her Phyllis again. Phyllis is already a complex character to write for especially for incompetent nincompoops like JG, having a bored lazy actress like Giggly Heffa only compounds the problem ever worse.
  21. Nah hasn’t this been the normal for Linder for the past several years? Linder never has had the same amount of screen time as Davidson and had only carried clout for being on the ATAS board for so long.
  22. Except for Chelsea in that wheelchair, that story keeps dragging out. Has she even changed her clothes in the last five months? Still interested in the mystery of Amanda’s father today it was good seeing Karla again on screen. Ashland and Tara haven’t been that bad but Kyle and Summer definitely have been the weakest links. Victor pulling an old school power play move out of his book was actually more fun that I thought it was going to be nor was as offensive as other things he has pulled.
  23. It remains very striking how small the B&B cast is since coming back after COVID and still can’t find the right balance.
  24. Thank you @YRfan23!!! 🙂🙂🙂
  25. The scenes weren’t that bad at all. However how many hotel owners just sit their lobby drinking alcohol all day LOL. The show has some momentum again finally even though almost all of the stories are lousy overall.
