Wasn’t 1994’s Queen of the Night story the first time it was revealed that Stefano was in love with Marlena? At least it was a nice twist to explain his obsession of her beyond just using her as a pawn against Roman & John. LOL I remember Kristen at the height being disturbed by Stefano having a gallery of Marlena portraits 🤣🤣🤣

Y&R won for Best Writing? 🤢🤢🤢🤢🤢 But I am glad Marla Adams won! A nice fitting end to a long daytime career. And Cady winning brings smiles to myself she was so wonderful as Jennifer on Days.

It’s considered a landmark event for GL that had storyline repercussions for years to come, probably the biggest being Ross & Blake(Sherry was still in the role at time) as so many storylines climaxed under one event. It received widespread critical acclaim including GL winning a Best Writing Emmy for it. And if GL tied at #4 at a 5.6 that week with GH that also shows how many soaps were in the crapper at the time still trying to coast off the 80’s (hello Days!). It was a year before quite a few soaps found their 90’s revival kick in while GL stumbled by the start of 1994.

Just how many long lost DiMera names exactly did get called out today? Sheesh knowing Days I’d almost expect Megan Hathaway popping up from beyond the grave just to be the deciding DiMera vote lol.

Ted King should be interesting as Finn’s father not a bad choice at all. But ya I am wondering how long before his character either sleeps with either Brooke and/or Katie while his Finn’s mother gets cast off to the side. If it had been a couple years ago when she was in better health I could have totally seen Thudley recasting Taylor with Shannen Doherty just have Taylor hookup with King’s character just shock value while giving the audience a wink.

Was Marcy Walker as Tangie on GL the original FOJ? Y&R to this day is still left with three actors from Hollywood Heights in three important roles and all three have failed to thrive especially with the horrible writing given to them over the years.

From what I learned from this: -Actually I am glad she thinks blackout week on GL was her proudest achievement because it was indeed her finest moment and thought Demorest, Curlee and Reilly were great to work for. She should have just stayed focused on the production values as opposed as she puts it “let her mind wander”’ as I am quite sure that lead to Maureen’s death. -She named her dog after John Bolger? I wonder if she has anything named after Kevin McClatchy or Steve Burton. -Her rationale behind the John/Felicia affair has completely changed from how she rationalized 25 years ago? -Still very haunted by Maureen but still has absolved herself, even if it was indirectly anything with Frankie Frame’s death. -“Bring into the 21st Century!!!” Of course they said that. We all know they told her that. I can see that pig Les Moonves telling her that himself. Yet she failed very miserably. Very Miserably. Also wasn’t it Altman, Thomson, and Passanate who penned Delia’a death? And “bomb under the bassinet” explains all of those ridiculous disaster plots—shootout at Victor & Nikki’s wedding, Valentine’s Day gala hostage crisis, plane crash, snowstorm, Newman Towers bombing etc. -She remembers all the actor names but only couple character names. That actually explains a lot. All in all an interesting watch and I’m like hearing her open up on the actors and writers she has worked with along with a little new insight along with rehashing. Overall I’d say the old phrase “The road to hell is paved with good intentions” pretty much sums up JFP’s career in a nutshell. Last summer Phelps did a podcast interview and GH was barely mentioned as well. Here she only mentioned Genie Francis’ Emmy win. I wonder she has blocked out her time or would like to block it out. One last thing I did also chuckle about how she was so proud and successful at AW for the year she was there. LOL. In 1996 ATWT imploded in a blaze of glory as GL inspired righteous indignation, AW’s grave sin was being plain out boring with two back to back serial killer storylines that had offensive final victims. 🤨

I don’t think I can add more to what everyone else has said but what a crappy ass plot twist way for our poor Vinny to be given. Definitely tacky as hell Thudley! Not sure what’s going on with Justin here unless he wants revenge on Thomas for Emma’s death while revenge on the Spencer’s for years of mistreatment which could be interesting but be totally rushed without playing any beats. This is the same show that rushed through Steffy’s pill addiction last fall in one month’s time. Same with Ridge & Shauna lol.

Hinsey is/was actually back writing for Digest after she fell out with InTouch. But given no one reads SOD anymore she really doesn’t have an audience anymore. I read an opinion piece by her about B&B’s mannequin story last fall and it was actually a lot more low key than anything she wrote back in the 00’s. It read as more of her observations as opposed her actual opinion lol.

The moment CLB won his Emmy was the moment he started acting extra hammy instead of the brilliance he gave 1997-2004ish of the sleazy scheming grey lawyer he was. BTW as for today’s episode why are Phyllis's hands are still covered in self tanner?!!? 🤣🤣

He left the journalism originally to produce SoapCenter for Soap Net if I recall right. Last I heard he has had some producer work for various reality shows including Big Brother and worked on production for the Daytime Emmys but that’s been some years now.

Nelson Branco? This isn’t 2009 anymore his name is not worth any discussion, he can go back under the rocks with all the lies his Suds Reports were lol. Back in the day I really enjoyed Jonathan Reiner’s time at the TV Guide website, though I do believe his gay witticisms paved the way for Daniel Coleridge and Nelson Branco.

Kyle and Summer is such worthless pairing that has never ever worked for the last eight years no matter who was playing Kyle. At least Lachlan gets to play himself in Dynasty nowadays, which is not a bad thing at all. In fact the show had put so much stock into Kyle & Lola I think that’s why this pairing is flagging so fast. Not to mention getting rid of Theo so quick was such a massive mistake.

At least Tara has finally been given something interesting to do, her threatening Summer was at least something fun to watch in spite of the horrid dialogue. Abby’s story remains a dumpster fire. Not even Tricia Cast can save this mess.

Big yikes if that comes to fruition. But I have not watched the two for almost two weeks now and don’t miss it at all. Don’t need to be tortured by Liam and Bill crying in jail LOL

Catching up but what exactly does Paulina have planned for Horton Square? Just how terrible are her secret plans? I too always figured that Bonnie is going to turn out to be Adrienne after all this time however Justin and Bonnie are barely on so it’s hard to even care about the story.

How was Gail Kobe on B&B compared to her Texas and GL tenures? I never hear it brought up but I guess she was neutered by the Bells?

I forgot to mention Kate. I’m all for Kate pulling one over on Gabi anytime but this fake blindness subplot feels like a story JER would have done in 2005 or something lol. Hopefully it doesn’t get dragged out given we just had Lucas pretending to be dying.

I wasn’t all that impressed by new EJ’s debut but time will tell how he fits in. James Scott was a hit right off the bat with his arrival so the shoes will be hard to fill. It’s a bit awkward we on the cusp of a Lumi reunion and doing fine without him tbh.

Oh gosh I forgot about Nicole and her umpteenth miscarriages, I think she rivals Amber on B&B in that department! I mean how many has she lost, two with EJ, one with Rafe, and wasn’t their one with Daniel as well? Yikes! Not to mention Holly was also presumed dead briefly as well. That Marlena pregnancy was hilariously bad as was her stumble down the penthouse stairs all to lead to hysterical amnesia? Definitely the nadir of JER 2.0 no doubt 😂

So many times miscarriage stories are a simple plot device for sheer shock value but are often detrimental to show. Of course a lot of miscarriages are the end result of a scandalous affair that shouldn’t have happened but sometimes get thrown in for no real reason. Here’s a few miscarriages I felt were completely unnecessary/overkill: AW: Josie’s 1997 one ATWT: Anytime Allison got pregnant GL: Ed & Maureen Y&R: Ryan & Nina, Paul & Christine I’m quite sure I can think of some more, any others?
