  1. Ed Sheeran creeps closer to his next No. 1, and Lizzo and Cardi debut at No. 4.
  2. Like you say, the black characters on B&B are ornamental at best (almost literally with Carter, whom they value solely for his pec-tacular assets out of clothes). Less charitably, they’ve made the black characters into paper-thin interlopers who betray the white characters (Carter, Justin, and mostly likely Paris). It’s so abundantly clear they don’t care about any of these characters.
  3. This show engages in some Jim Reilly-level wheel-spinning. Finn and Steffy are a broken record.
  4. Johnny declares himself “100 percent into women, one woman in particular.” These shows will dabble in female pansexuality but continue to be scared of male-on-male sexuality (as well as black male/white female sexuality, to a somewhat lesser extent, Quinn/Carter on B&B excepted—Quinn is coded as “bad.” Molly/TJ are a non-entity on GH). Theo wasn’t even allowed to have sex with his fiancée. Interesting that both GH and DAYS have elevated black female heroines, both paired with the globetrotting scions of villainous dynasties.
  5. Wendy… sheesh. But she got good digs in. Gizelle seemed pretty unbothered. Still this season’s drama ratcheted waaay up.
  6. Amauri Pesek-Hickson, running back for the University of Kansas football team 🇺🇸
  7. Charlie from Love Island 🇺🇸
  8. Pierre, a Haitian-American model 🇭🇹 🇺🇸
  9. Seems like Daniil injured his wrist? Didn’t expect him to lose to Rublev like that. My money’s on whoever comes through on the other half (Tsitsipas or Zverev).
  10. The great Borna Ćorić 🇭🇷
  11. Yoav from Israel 🇮🇱
  12. The LML era was unwatchable. I certainly remember that much lol. The different eras of Y&R since the mid-2000s have been awful (or at best mediocre) in so many unique ways.
  13. Or even a statement from CBS or Sony that at least gives the impression that they give a sh!t (which they obviously don’t).
  14. LML created him, I believe, and I don’t think it was her who got rid of him, but my memory is fuzzy regarding how things ended with the writers’ strike and her leaving.
  15. Jil Teichmann keeps rolling…
  16. Her rolling around in that wheelchair was perfection.
  17. Also, I feel like performers of color have been last hired and first fired, especially when there’s a regime change. Did Ji-Min get canned after Latham’s departure? New regimes also often love to clean house of any floating newbies associated with the previous one, and it’s a vicious cycle with many non-white characters who never get an opportunity (or the investment in their development) to build seniority that *might* protect them from the ax (like the Abe Carvers and Devon Hamiltons). Certainly didn’t protect Lillian Hayman and many others like her.
  18. Just announced: she’s leaving. Lame that it was announced on a Friday night like a political scandal, but CAI probably just wants to put this show behind her. JMHO a co-ed panel is a smart move when there are so many View clones on daytime TV (and Kelly and Ryan is a great example of a female-male duo being successful—I think people like having the interplay of both genders represented and there are so many conversations on these shows where the absence of a male perspective is strongly felt). I just don’t have much faith in this particular show and these particular people.
  19. I know people wanted LeVar, but I just don’t think he was good. But who was good was Bill Whitaker. He would be a great choice if he were open to it.
  20. Indeed! And they don’t even have to be so explicit in their racist feelings. Watching the show is enough to show how they really feel. I remember Abhi Sinha flagging Mal Young for abuse. Just seems like a very toxic set. I know Y&R has a rep. I agree Steve Kent needs to go too. Speaking of Sony, Mike Richards is stepping down from Jeopardy (as new host but keeping his EP job).
