  1. Jonelle and Vivica will show up very soon on BTG. If I keep speaking it into the universe, it will happen. (Alas, Richard Roundtree also joining the show will not. )
  2. That's when you know it's about to get real ghetto up in here, lol! Well, it DOES seem like an appropriate time to remind everyone: (Damn, I wish Jonelle Allen and Vivica A. Fox were part of the BTG cast. I seriously wish the catfight had lasted the entire episode with no other storylines featured. That would have been BOSS.)
  3. That only proves our point: it isn't JUST the Hispanics and Latinos from outside the U.S. whom they want gone. They want to round up and take out anyone who "doesn't look white." We're fast reaching a critical point, ladies and gentlemen. As @marceline said many moons ago, this is going to end in bloodshed.
  4. For sure, Sharon's bout with breast cancer should've provided the impetus for a Nick/Sharon reunion; and if I were HW'ing the show today, I'd have her cancer recur with the same purpose: to put them back together (this time, for good).
  5. Wait, Angela Lansbury was producing MSW (under her "Corymore" banner) that soon? I thought she didn't own or produce the show until the 1992-93 season, after one year with David Moessinger (a.k.a. The Gentleman With the Funny Name, lol) as EP/Showrunner. *shrug* I wish CBS/Corymore had followed through with developing a half-hour series for Lansbury. I think she would've been perfect for a comedy series (provided, it wasn't as awful as "Yes, Dear," lol).
  6. This isn't 1777, when it took months for citizens from one state to find out what had happened in another. Trump and his cronies can erase J6 all they like from the history books - they can even ban all mentions of it on social media! - but it's much, much harder now to hide such events from recorded history.
  7. It was either TOO personal and TOO confidential, or it wasn't personal or confidential enough.
  8. Unless and until you actually see a Black woman literally take off her earrings to fight....
  9. That's what I'm saying! Y&R has tried and failed to pair JM with so many other ladies on-screen that I've literally lost count. It's time to admit that, while Nick and Sharon might not be Victor and Nikki, she's absolutely the best he can do for a mate.
  10. That's no shock. Aside from Eddie Murphy and maybe Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Lorne Michaels likes to pretend the Dick Ebersol-produced seasons never occurred.
  11. It's in there, but as with everything else that's written in the Scriptures, it's open to interpretation. (For one thing, that particular passage is in the Book of Leviticus, which is Old Testament, which we are NOT supposed to live under anymore, since the birth, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ basically renders it null and void.) The thing is, the Scriptures also tell us, in effect, to hate the sin and not the sinner. So, even if you don't condone homosexuality, that doesn't give you license to persecute gay and transgender people simply for BEING gay and transgender, "for you are... Anyways. MAGA: "People come into this country illegally - and take jobs and benefits away from REAL Americans - with the expressed hope of giving birth on American soil, so they cannot be deported!" Khan: "And women of all stripes take back their outfits to the department stores and demand refunds, knowing good and well that they've worn them and put their stank in them. What can you say? As long as there's a system, someone's gonna figure out how to game it. But that doesn't mean you punish the many for the selfishness of the few."
  12. Unless it's because Josh Morrow has personal issues with Sharon Case, or he thinks reuniting Nick and Sharon translates into taking a back seat to their now-grown children's dramas, I don't understand what his deal is. You're fifty years old, bruh. It's time to leave the keg parties to the next generation.
  13. I applaud any white person who admits that they don't like TP's stuff, instead of pretending that they do, because they're afraid of what the NAACP will do to them. If you're going to represent Black people, or ANY people, then REPRESENT. Don't just reinforce stereotypes. Instead, shatter those stereotypes into so many pieces, so that all the king's horses and all the king's men will NEVER put Sambo or Topsy back together again. I think that's what MVJ is doing there with BTG. She's saying, in effect, that white folks do not own the rights or the patent to being messy. As long as you've got money, you've got problems! Now, would I have developed BTG in the same way? No, I wouldn't've, because I was practically weaned on Douglas Marland and Agnes Nixon's storytelling; so, I like to follow stories about different socioeconomic classes. But I respect what MVJ is attempting to do, I think it's long past time for someone to do it, and I wish her nothing but the best. (Follow that rainbow, 'Chele!)
  14. Have you ever noticed how FIXATED the far-right and so-called "Christian evangelists" are on punishing gay and transgender people? Obviously, many are deathly afraid of them and lash out against them, because they're actually in the closet. But I'd love to know when and where in the history of people-kind did we decide we MUST extinguish homosexuality, especially when there has never been even one gay or transgender person who has made it their mission to convert heterosexuals against their will? I get why Christian evangelists are intolerant of anyone who is not Christian; that boils down to thousands of years of indoctrination. And I get why they're intolerant of anyone who is not white; THAT is because brown and black people pose an existential threat to their way of life. But gay and transgender people don't want to eradicate heterosexuality from existence. All they want is to live their own lives in peace, for God's sake. Why is that so [!@#$%^&*] hard for the far-right to cope with! Anyways. Thank you, @janea4old, for linking us to that article.
  15. I never had an issue with Tyler Perry's stuff being campy or racy - frankly, those are the times we live in; and it's my prerogative to watch or not watch - but I DID have an issue with it being colorist, homophobic and misogynistic, written by someone who knew nothing about storytelling.
  16. Like you've said on several occasions, "Both of these things can be true."
  17. I can believe that AMC had become as toxic off-screen as it had on.
  18. I've probably been conditioned from a lifetime of watching sitcoms - where you're lucky if you see two standing sets and a "swing set" every episode - so it never bothers me to see how greatly reduced the number of sets on soaps have become. It's like SORAS'ing; it's embarrassing, but also, a necessary evil. BTG could tape every scene in the same utility closet (hi, DAYS!). As long as the characters are multi-dimensional, I don't care.
  19. ICAM. I realize that I sound worse than a broken record, but it's the truth: this is not the first time that our republic has encountered an existential crisis, or that our citizens have had to live under an oppressive administration. We've been down these roads before; and by the grace of our Creator, we always made it through. We just have to remember that we're not in this alone; that, for every nation that is in lock step with Trump, there is another nation that has and will resist him and others like him; and who will be there for us, if and when we need them. This country will come to its' senses someday. We have before, and we will again.
  20. As if being The New David Muir is somehow a badge of honor, lol.
  21. I agree. Mama Khan and I got into a bit of a discussion about this the other day. Mama Khan said, "God sent us Trump, because he's the leader we needed." I said, "God allowed Trump to take office again, because he is the leader we WANTED. Big difference." Anyways. My point is, I am a Christian - although, I don't always show it, lol! - so I don't delight in seeing any of God's children suffer. At the same time, however, I've always believed that whenever we disobey God, or we don't need His warning, we have to suffer the consequences. Latinos and Muslims broke for Trump this time around, because Joe Rogan and the rest of Bro-cast Nation convinced them that the Democrats weren't listening to them, and so they wanted to "teach the Democrats a lesson." They were too damn lazy to educate themselves about a number of things, so now they gotta pay the price. It's just stupid that the rest of us have to pay along with them. Frankly, I'm taking this time to refocus my attention toward, of all things, animal rights, specifically dogs. I've come to love dogs after being so deathly afraid of them for most of my life, so I'd like to do something there (although, what, I don't know yet). All the issues that we humans get so hung up over - stuff like race/ethnicity, religion, gender identity, sexual preference, political affiliation, economic status - dogs (and other, non-human animals) couldn't give two shits about. All a dog wants at the end of the day is a little love and attention (...and some good food, lol). They aren't human beings, yet they can teach us so much about how to be BETTER humans.
  22. And we are fine with that, because 20+ years of "reality TV" have conditioned us to be the norms-shattering, fear-mongering idiocracy that we are today. I've always said that "The Morton Downey, Jr. Show" would send this country straight to Hell. Almost forty years later, I've been proven right.
  23. "Tracker" is pretty much what you'd expect by now from CBS: a safe-as-milk procedural, featuring a lead who is amiable enough, several quirky supporting actors, a backstory that can be woven in and out of episodes and that you don't need a chart to track of; and it's all presented with a conservative, jingoistic slant in order to appease the network's older (white) audience, who hates to watch anything that's too taxing or upsetting while they snooze on their sectionals that they purchased online at Wayfair. (Honestly, CBS produces shows for folks who've yet to move on from 9/11.) Imagine if LOL's Meg and Vanessa had fought over Paul Raven, and Ben (a.k.a. "Beanie") had been Paul Raven's son!
