  1. "Laura English, Timmy Dillon and CARRIE GENZEL"?? Wow, we're not even gonna acknowledge she once played Skye Chandler, are we, SoapCentral?
  2. Have you read any of the analyses that Paul Raven has linked upthread, @DRW50? The guy who wrote them is CLEARLY a fan. IDK whether I agree with all his assessments, but I love how meticulous they are.
  3. Damn, he got replaced by a six-pack and a sparkly-looking thong. That's rough.
  4. I always attribute that to Paul Rauch's exit as EP, and Linda Gottlieb's arrival.
  5. I really lay the blame for Long's failure at OLTL on JFP, who (IMO) was never enthused about collaborating with her.
  6. ...Huh? So, when we pull off the mask, who will we find masquerading as Rudy? Chrissy Snow? There is truly no honor among thieves.
  7. I'll believe it when Trump tells me not to believe it.
  8. Once again, I'll quote @marceline: the GOP always wrecks the economy. Always.
  9. Oh, Lawd. Yeah, I am TOTALLY down for a "Frasier" revival.
  10. I think Frasier should be somewhere in the midwest, teaching at a university.
  11. I could buy that he didn't know from the start that it wasn't all for a "counterterrorism video," but did he really believe those tactics would protect himself and his loved ones from being attacked? It never occurred to him at any point to stop and ask, "What's REALLY goin' on here, fellas?" Some folks just have no common sense whatsoever.
  12. Khan replied to Marco Dane's topic in Off Topic Lounge
No, this isn't from any of his past 1100 tv shows, but I still think it's apt:
  13. Lanny Davis: "Ladies & gents, if you voted for Trump, listen to the tape and ask yourself, is Donald Trump lying?" Khan: "And then ask yourself, do you care?" The answers, as they say, might surprise you.
  14. Makes me wonder, too. The GOP were, and are, determined to destroy Obama's legacy and win at all costs. Perhaps they really would sell out themselves, and us, to Russia; and perhaps they really did do that sooner than anyone wants to think. Thank you, Jane. At least you have the guts to set the record straight. I wish I had that same courage to do the same with my own mother.
  15. I'm surprised to learn that Joseph Hardy's career in soaps went back as far as it did. My assumption had been he had worked strictly in the theatre before ABC and RYAN'S HOPE came calling.
  16. Did LML feature the Winters clan more often during her tenure? It's been so long that I don't know for sure.
  17. I cannot give back what I did not have in the first place.
  18. I can't speak for all soap fans, of course, but I think I'm averse to online streaming -- not just w/ soaps, but really all programming in general -- just because I think that the internet is great for a lot of things (such as message boards and social media) but not great for everything. Call me old-fashioned, but I think part of the joy in watching any TV series is knowing when it will be on the TV schedule, and on which network, and then planning my weeks accordingly. (Oh, the memories I have from my childhood, reading the "Fall Preview" issue of TV Guide, and then drawing up little grids that would be, for me, a makeshift day-at-a-glance.) Best example: knowing that no matter HOW crappy my week had been at school, I had KNOTS LANDING every Thursday night at 9pm (CST) to look forward to. From Monday through Thursday afternoon, it gave me drive; and it was also, for me, a signal that Friday night (and the TGIF sitcoms on ABC) and the weekend were literally around the corner.
  19. So, they still want to call it a "white nationalist" rally, huh? Okay. Gotcha, NYT.
  20. I'll bet that when the Obamas read that column, they just laughed and laughed and laughed. (I know I would.) FB is filth, but it's the only social media platform that I will use, and the only way I can keep in touch with many of my former schoolmates.
  21. Because her last attempt at a talk show went so well.
  22. For a second, I saw the name "Kristin Davis" and I thought, "OMG, what does Charlotte have to do with any of this!?". Well, I know I've said on at least one occasion that I thought Stormygate, and not Russia, could be his undoing. But I consider Susan McDougal kind of a side plot, spun off from Stormygate -- which, in and of itself, could prove to be part of the Proteus-like umbrella story that is Russia. #itallconnects Oh, wouldn't THAT be something. The Clintons and Trump, side by side, in the same damn scandal. I feel like people on the left AND the right would commit mass suicide.
  23. I know there has to be a connection between Karen McDougal, Stormy Daniels and Russia. There just has to be.
  24. You know, say what you will about the Clintons: maybe they ARE a pair of vipers, grasping at every bit of power that floats their way. But when they've been right about something, they've been right. Bill warned Hillary's team that overlooking the WWC in their election strategies would cost them big, and he was right. Hillary warned us (like CRAZY) that Trump would be Putin's puppet in the WH, and SHE was right. They've been right about a lot of other things in years past, but you get my drift. As venal as they are, they also know how to read people pretty darn well. I mean, you don't get to be as powerful as they were and still are by being total hayseeds, amirite?
