  1. IIRC, too, Roya filled in while Ava's mother, Kate, was in the hospital. One day, it was Lisa, as Ava, at her mother's bedside; and the next, it was Roya, decked out in her finest Erica Kane-esque wardrobe.
  2. You mean the president has to (gulp) preside? #hell2pay
  3. Well, the man did say he was a stable genius.
  4. I'm fine with JLB (although, I can see AArredondo's point about her not being age-appropriate). However, if DAYS just HAD to recast Laura again, for whatever reason, then I wouldn't mind seeing someone like Erika Slezak (ex-Viki/Niki, et al, ONE LIFE TO LIVE) take on the role. Again, maybe not age-appropriate, but in terms of disposition, I could draw that straight line from Susan Flannery and Rosemary Forsyth to Slezak.
  5. This is me, praying to the gods that Redford is never implicated in some sexual harassment allegation.
  6. *coughs*HippocraticOath*coughs*
  7. I think it could be, since (according to NPR) four other media outlets have tried in the past to break this story, but got nowhere. But, OTOH, wouldn't it be incredible if THIS, and NOT the Russia [!@#$%^&*], is the thing that ends up being Trump's undoing as president? (I'm not saying it WILL be. I'm just saying it would be amazing if it were.) After all, Watergate began as just a routine break-in.
  8. Hate to burst anyone's bubble -- especially a rag like the NY Daily News -- but "generic sex" is the ONLY kind of sex that man knows how to have. Wow. The NRA might be in on this too? SOOOOOOOOOOOOO many unclean hands in all this.
  9. I don't care WHAT his physician says. The man is seriously ill.

  11. To me, it DOES sound more like a bad date, which HLN's Ashleigh Banfield described it as, than it does sexual assault.
  12. Frankly, I've never held much faith in "Big Pharma." They can come up with a little blue pill that will help an old fart sustain a woody in his pants, but they can't find a cure for AIDS, for cancer, for diabetes, and for a million other chronic, life-shortening diseases that are out there?
  13. Trump must think Hawaii is one of those "shithole countries" he mentioned the other day.
  14. Years ago, I came across a rumor that Claire Labine had plans to re-introduce Trudy Bauer as a homeless woman...but I can't say for certain whether that WAS what she had had in mind.
  15. Honestly, I feel like I'm stuck in a DALLAS end-of-season cliffhanger. Except, in this case, there's no Bobby Ewing, and definitely no shower.
  16. I want his dick, too...on a platter...and then I want it fed to a piranha. And that's just to punish him for his bad acting.
  17. And we're outraged, and we SHOULD be outraged. But, I just keep asking myself, does it really make any difference now? I've BEEN fed up with Trump's peculiar brand of nonsense, but I'm even more fed up with the fact that there's nothing that anyone can or will do to stop it.
  18. IA -- and from what I could see, a major reason why Doug Jones won in Alabama (aside from the fact, of course, that he wasn't Judge Roy Moore) was that his campaign team made a concerted effort to reach out to and engage ethnic minorities. Now, I'm sure some might have seen their attempts as pandering or patronizing, but I say, it's no different from Trump reaching out to older, white, working-class voters with misconceptions about everyone who isn't "like them." However, the difference is that unlike Jones, Trump cultivated HIS voting base by playing on their prejudices and fears. IMO, the Democratic Party would be wise to follow Jones' example.
  19. Oh, well. Same s**t(hole), different day.
  20. To be perfect and frank, I'm not tolerating a mother [!@#$%^&*] thing from people who'd just as soon spit on my ass or set me on fire than treat me as their equal. I'm just not. And if NOT tolerating them means killing the Democratic Party, then...well...nothing lasts forever.
  21. Better yet, he should be forced -- on tape -- to sit before his accusers and remain silent as they, one by one, rake his smug, self-satisfied ass over the proverbial coals. ...Or not. I know some are upset that the movie attempts to paint a somewhat sympathetic picture of the kind of people who'd voted Trump in the last election. But that might not be the backlash Vee was referring to.
  22. The folks at NBCU/Comcast/Whomever have proven themselves to be soulless in so many ways. After all, they ARE partially responsible, I think, for a certain, orange-faced maroon sitting today in our nation's Oval Office. But, if they go through with this, then I hope that Hoda leaves the damn kid gloves in her dressing room and asks her former colleagues the questions that should be and need to be asked.
  23. I said pretty much the same thing when I noticed they were installing even MORE self-checkout machines at all my local Walmarts and Walmart Neighborhood Markets. I think there are other, better ways to raise employees' wages without shutting down stores or relying more on automation -- but I doubt the folks in charge care to consider them. Agree with you, Julia, and with DD.
  24. Like the article says, Matt Lauer is DESPERATE to be back on television. But I feel that ANY interviews he agrees to -- especially at this point, so soon after his firing -- will backfire in the worst possible way.
  25. Have we discussed already the French actors who have denounced the #metoo/#timesup movement? https://www.nytimes.com/2018/01/09/movies/catherine-deneuve-and-others-denounce-the-metoo-movement.html On the one hand, I understand their concerns about all the swirling accusations of sexual harassment in turn fostering an atmosphere of fear and repression both online and in the workplaces. But, OTOH, I think we're talking about (and I think the victims who have made the allegations are talking about) more than just stolen kisses and clumsy come-ons. There's a fine line between flirtation and harassment, but in most cases, I trust those victims to know the difference.
