  1. A "Democratic tsunami" sounds awfully nice...but I am so worried about getting my hopes up. I mean, it LOOKS like the tide might turn next year against the GOP. But there's probably an equal chance of the GOP bouncing back somehow before then.
  2. Oh, ick. The thought of anyone having to go down on Carter [!@#$%^&*] Oosterhouse is just...ick.
  3. True. But, OTOH, since Trump is, well, Trump, I wouldn't put it past him to acquiesce to a Democrat-led Congress and claim publicly that he never loved the GOP anyway. Know what I mean?
  4. Judging from the TPM article, "Danny Ray" would have made for a perfect villain/murder victim on "In the Heat of the Night."
  5. Exactly. Between their unpopular tax agenda and their defeats in both Virginia and Alabama, many within the GOP who rely on corporate donors might be hatching contingency plans should the 2018 midterm elections not turn out well for them.
  6. And again, we say, "Goodbye, good riddance, goodbye." Except, even "Felicia" is too good for the likes of Omarosa. Seriously. Felicia doesn't want her name even MENTIONED in the same breath as Omarosa. Just don't. IA with Carl: the GOP believes they need to accomplish something this year. Otherwise, they'll probably run the risk of their voters writing them off as a failed, do-nothing Congress. However, as I think I've said upthread, I see the GOP as being caught in a no-win situation of their own making. If Congress pushes through their tax agenda, they'll please their donors, but lose the faith, respect and, most importantly, support of their voters. But, OTOH, if they don't succeed in getting the tax bill into the books, the voters might be satisfied, but the donors will likely cut off their cash supply. Damned if they do, damned if they don't (...and ain't life grand).
  7. Wait a minute: do you mean to tell me that Omarosa actually tripped the alarm at the WH because she wouldn't go peacefully?? Oh, my God. She's not only basic, she's ghetto.
  8. EON was the rare soap opera that ended entirely too soon.
  9. As I wrote on my FB page, black voters, in general, understand that it isn't about voting for the candidate you like. But it IS about voting for the candidate whom you think will get the s**t done. Plain and simple.
  10. Once again, I must applaud Ridley Scott, as well as the folks from Sony and Imperative Entertainment, who were involved in this last-minute switcheroo. I'm actually tempted to watch this !@#$%^&*].
  11. I wouldn't put it past that woman. My favorite part of the USA Today article, which Eric posted upthread: This isn’t about the policy differences we have with all presidents or our disappointment in some of their decisions. Obama and Bush both failed in many ways. They broke promises and told untruths, but the basic decency of each man was never in doubt. And that, as Alanis Morrisette might say, is what it all comes down to. No president has ever been able to please all of the American people all of the time. But most presidents, from BOTH sides of the political aisle, have been able to conduct themselves while in office with SOME sense of dignity. Trump just doesn't have that ability; and we are way past time realizing how detrimental that is to the security and survival of our country.
  12. And I hope that safe place has a ton of champagne, because even in those quarters, they'll have a ton of celebrating to do!!
  13. Oh, s**t. "September" would have been a much better song/video to post. Oh, well.
  14. Well, with all the wars threatening to break out on account of Trump's public statements and tweets, the military's gonna need all the help they can get.
  15. Oh, no! Not Dennis Blunden! Is it 2018 YET??
  16. I'll admit that when I heard about Mario Batali, I thought the allegations were coming from other men. Women? Who knew?
  17. And that's what I, as a onetime Obama critic, have come to love and appreciate about our former president. No matter how I felt at the time about Obama's presidency, I'd have to agree that it was paradise compared to today. I'm happy to hear that Trump's alleged sexual harassment victims are speaking out and demanding an official investigation. IDK how far they'll get with THIS Congress, but just the fact that they are "standing up," especially in the light of Al Franken's resignation, means a lot.
  18. Let's just say I wouldn't hold my breath for MY state to ratify it.
  19. Or, Roseanne's just trying to get attention. You know, like always.
  20. I must admit the opening took me by surprise as well.
  21. Frankly, I wouldn't go even THAT far. I think most women would look past the accolades and see Dustin Hoffman for exactly what you have described him to be.
  22. Who does it? Someone who has to, because no way in Hell would most, INTELLIGENT women give him so much as the time of day.
  23. It always gets me how men who bluster so much (like Flynn) are also the men who are first to fold, and fold quickly. Just once, I'd like to see the truly noble thief, who says, "Hell no, I ain't rattin' myself out, and I ain't rattin' out anyone else either!".
  24. Unbelievable? Yes. Surprising? No. (BS: "Hey, all us pedos gotta look out for each other, right?")
