  1. I don't think so. Most AMC fans whom I've encountered online have been willing to defend some, if not all, of her storyline choices. GL fans, OTOH, pretty much agree that her HW'ing stint there was a disaster from start to finish.
  2. BREAKING: Bill Shine Resigns As WH Communications Director https://thehill.com/homenews/administration/433226-ex-fox-executive-shine-makes-abrupt-exit-from-trump-white-house Reports say he will take on a "senior adviser" role in Trump's 2020 campaign (which Trump himself has been running practically since he took the oath of office back in 2017).
  3. I'm watching a "Law & Order" rerun that reinforces that fact.
  4. It is. I'm tired of those purity ponies (tm @marceline) on the left. They act like we all could afford to wait for the Second Coming. Well, you know what happens when you keep picking off people whose hands aren't entirely clean? You end up with Trump. Nevertheless, if someone from the Purity Police ends up being the nominee (I'm looking at you, Kirsten Gillibrand), I'll just hold my nose and vote for them, because, as @Juliajms says upthread:
  5. I can only imagine the phone conversation she and Oprah had later about everything that went down.
  6. I miss seeing Marcia McCabe on my TV on a regular basis. She's one of those actresses (like Gloria Loring (ex-Liz, DAYS)) whom you love instantly.
  7. I'll be honest: I'm not sure what to think about Omar.
  8. I, for one, would not mind a ticket that includes Kamala Harris and Sherrod Brown.
  9. Gayle, after the interview:
  10. "Word" to everything said here, @marceline.
  11. Me neither, but it's just like what you said: we're going to need a "steady, calming influence" and a return to "business as usual," but not in the Trumpian sense, lol. I think I've said before that I don't expect to see another president like Obama in my lifetime, and that opinion still holds.
  12. That scene was so ridiculous. I wish Thorne had walked in before he did. And no one is so drunk that they can't OPEN THEIR DAMN EYES and see the person they're making love to is not the person they're supposed to be making love to.
  13. Dylan/Brenda was all kinds of messy, but dammit, if viewers weren't shipping hard for those two, lol.
  14. This is pretty much what I've been saying all along. It sucks that we have to look to another white male to "save" us, but that's where the current administration has put us. (Not that Trump losing in 2020 is guaranteed, but thinking outside the proverbial box with another woman or even person of color to oppose him will result only in another four years with that idiot.) Thanks much, @marceline, for sharing!
  15. Early FOX was a repository of truly bizarre series. Anyone else remember "Whoops!" or "Good Grief"?
  16. The original 90210 was just one big hair-don't.
  17. Damn, this year just keeps getting shittier.
  18. Let that be a lesson to everyone: never try out new stand-up material in front of a Congressional committee.
  19. Ken Levine, a former writer/producer of "Cheers," "M*A*S*H," and about a dozen other shows, blogged about the uselessness of pundits on cable news networks -- something we know all too well. Here's the blog: kenlevine.blogspot.com Ironically, if Fox News HAD run with the story about the hush money payments, I don't believe it would have made any difference with its' viewership. Those people were going to vote for Hillary's opponent no matter what.
  20. I hope she's doing better now that she's out of rehab.
  21. Rev. Gordon (on "Good Times"): "Perhaps." I, myself, would ignore the PP/TOLN run. The production values were fine, but the storytelling was lacking. At the same time, though, I don't think you could pick up exactly where the ABC run left off. It's been seven-plus years, and maybe more in "soap opera time." Much has happened since then, both off-screen and on.
  22. So they can [!@#$%^&*] on AMC's legacy even more?
  23. Just ask Gertie Vincent. #GoodTimesReference
  24. Oh, dear God, the "Three to Get Ready" opening sequence! And that theme song! It's straight out of the Sweeney Sisters' repertoire (and I don't mean that in a good way). Interestingly, they retained Ann's original nursing career for the reboot. Schneider's entrance was just as creepy with Julie and her friend alone in the apartment than it was in the second pilot with Ann alone in the living room. No ifs, ands or buts about it. Awkward introduction aside (she comes in and starts cleaning like it's her place?), Marcia Rodd's Gail was a good supporting character who would've fit in nicely as the Rhoda to Bonnie Franklin's Ann. Too bad BF's ego wouldn't allow the spotlight to shine on anyone but her. And since when was Annie Romano married to Serpico?
  25. Number one, Bubbles might be a lot of things; "decent" is never one of them. And number two, we call him "Crazy Uncle Joe" for a reason. People will have forgotten his remark about Pence by the time of the election -- but trust me, he'll say plenty more between now and 2020 to remind folks why (as @marceline says upthread) he has run before and lost.
