  1. Well, Trump wanted everything to go back to where it was in the '80's. I guess that includes the Mafia.
  2. Before you knew it, though, it would have been pared down so much that you would've wound up with just More AMC/OLTL, a BTS show about two OTHER shows that weren't even in production anymore.
  3. T.R. could have filled that role: just say Estelle had been involved with Bruce at some point and there you go.
  4. Is it just me, or does anyone else think Roy Winsor is about ready to drag the Averys for filth? Meanwhile, it's good to know that what he did in those two memos -- meaning, laying out story -- is exactly what many of us do all the time on boards such as this one. Thanks, dc!
  5. In this day and age, with streaming, I doubt ANY first-run syndicated programming would succeed.
  6. Where the hell are Lucy and Ethel when you need 'em?
  7. For some reason, I can't access the story outline when I click on it.
  8. Cue Trump (or whoever) firing Rosenstein in five, four, three, two....
  9. I wish they HAD gone there. Think about it: a man of the cloth, so to speak, wrestling with his own sexuality. Those are the makings of some fine drama.
  10. Bingo.
  11. Our political system would be nothing without backroom deals.
  12. Was Martha Byrne supposed to have joined AMC? I had no idea.
  13. Also, Marland quit, because he and Monty butted heads on several stories, including breaking up Scotty and Laura's marriage so quickly after their wedding.
  14. Nowadays, though, it seems a lot of "old-timey" names, like Ruth(ie) and Sophie (to name but two), are coming back into vogue. It's kind of like what Julia Sugarbaker on "Designing Women" once said (and which I alluded to another thread not too long ago): one day, it'll seem really odd to have senior citizens named "Tiffany" and "Heather," but by that point, their granddaughters' names will be Beulah, Maude and Ethel.
  15. Yeah, I'd have to agree: this period of GL is much better than Brown & Esensten OR Wheeler/Kreizman. Even the dark(er) days that are ahead were/are infinitely more watchable, because even with the sub-par writing that occurred between Pam Long's two HW'ing stints, you still had a lot of great actors in the cast, and the production values were high as well.
  16. Unfortunately, the same issues regarding presenting "loving gay couples" persist to this day.
  17. I know Holden was originally named "Clem Holden" in Marland's bible, but I can't recall any other mentions of the Snyders, or what became the Snyders, either. Meanwhile, thank God Marland changed Holden's name. CLEM? Oy.
  18. I'm hoping nothing wrong goes with the balloon. The British might blame us and our f'ed-up karma, and the LAST thing we need is another war between us and them.
  19. Well, Pruitt's out, which means...one more contestant for the special "Trump edition" of "Dancing with the Stars."
  20. Harding "Pete" Lemay, who head-wrote THE DOCTORS for a brief while, has passed away: https://www.welovesoaps.net/2018/07/Harding-Lemay-obituary.html
  21. Harding Lemay, who head-wrote SFT for a brief period, has passed away: https://www.welovesoaps.net/2018/07/Harding-Lemay-obituary.html
  22. Harding "Pete" Lemay, the legendary HW who was also part of Doug Marland's Emmy-winning writing staff, has passed away: https://www.welovesoaps.net/2018/07/Harding-Lemay-obituary.html
  23. Harding "Pete" Lemay, who was arguably AW's greatest HW, and one of daytime's most legendary, has passed away: https://www.welovesoaps.net/2018/07/Harding-Lemay-obituary.html
  24. We make no promises...but we'll do our best. Unfortunately, Pruitt's resignation is a case of "too little, too late." Yes, he's outta there (and back here, unfortunately) but the damage he did while he was in charge at the EPA will outlive him for decades to come.
  25. Wow, considering how strong and "together" ED always come across IRL, it's amazing to think she portrayed a woman who was always on the cusp of insanity.
