  1. This man makes me so sad (although, not as sad as his tats do).
  2. More like, "Will SMIRKED that he was gay."
  3. It's one thing to ban abortions, but when we talk about sending people to prison, including the mother, we've gone entirely too far.
  4. Let's say Buttigieg makes it all the way to the WH. What would we call his husband? "First Gent"?
  5. I didn't know Elizabeth Warren had declined FNC's invitation to appear on their network, but if she did, then good for her. Appearing on that propaganda machine will score no Democrats any points in the long run; and if it actually gets the collective goats of Berners everywhere -- well, that's just gravy.
  6. You mean, aside from the fact that they are self-entitled blondes?
  7. Exactly.
  8. Last night, Mama Khan said, "All these people wanted to slap Trump's name on everything to help their businesses be successful -- and now that he's president, they want to take his name off!" Well, yeah. But, that's because no one wants to be identified with someone who is a CONFIRMED "sexist, egotistical, lying, hypocritical bigot." (Anyone who tells you the far-right isn't out to brainwash people like my mother is lying their damn head off.)
  9. They're losing patience and regretting voting for him? Well, Jimmy crack corn and I don't gaf!
  10. Sigh. I just don't know what to say.
  11. I hate to sound so crass, but if this had been an actual reboot, Dylan's death and the impact it would have on the rest of the gang's lives would have been a FANTASTIC jumping-off point for the new series.
  12. Same. When the three states that pollsters and pundits said Trump would need in order to win against Hillary turned out to be the three states that literally helped him win on election night, the Prince fan in me said, "Something in the water does not compute." Meanwhile, now that Team Trump consider themselves vindicated in the Mueller probe, I hear on the radio that Trump and Pompeo are going full speed ahead on establishing beautiful new ties with Mother Russia. To me, it's one of the most appalling and terrifying things I've heard yet. And, as usual, those who NEED to read between the lines, won't.
  13. Actually, what they should use is an honest-to-God reboot, with a "Who Killed Valerie?" mystery to kick things off.
  14. In that case, there are some good but unknown restaurants out here (in OKC) that she needs to try!
  15. And if she'd been, well, not white? She would have received the needle, no question. Oh, well. At least it's something other than a walk (although it might as well be).
  16. ELLEN: Annie, tell me, are you pregnant? ANNIE: Mom, don't be silly. Do I look pregnant? ELLEN: Yes, you do. KHAN: Damn, Ellen! Could you BE any less sensitive about your daughter's weight gain? LOL! I guess Bill Bell didn't want to show someone dying of AIDS, or complications from it. But I do think having Jessica die like that was, in retrospect, a bit of a copout.
  17. At the very least, it would have been nice to see Prinz make occasional visits (maybe during the holidays).
  18. Was Kate Collins ever nominated for playing Natalie and/or Janet on AMC?
  19. Of course. Unlike some other HWs, though, Douglas Marland was one who excelled at writing many different KINDS of storylines. You name it -- (murder) mysteries, action/adventure stories, Gothic (and other) romances, love triangles, topically relevant dramas and kitchen-sink family dramas -- and Marland wrote at least one great example from that genre. That's what I admire about him most. That, and the fact that he always respected history, and he never wrote down to his audience.
  20. Frankly, I don't think so. I suspect the writers crafted the child molestation story for Ceara, because they realized GF didn't have whatever it took to portray Ceara as the "scheming vixen" type she was introduced as. But I could be wrong. (That's not a knock on GF or her talents, by the way. It's just that she's more suited to portray heroines over villains). Either way, it felt after awhile that Ceara, and Ceara/Jeremy, had fallen through the cracks -- which might have been okay with Genie, who wasn't carrying the show on her shoulders like she had on GH, and who was allowed to pursue other endeavors (such as theatre) while living in NYC, but it certainly was a waste of actor and character.
  21. And that's probably true. It never mattered whether GF was right for Diana and for DAYS. They just wanted to get GF/GH/Luke & Laura fans to tune in. OTOH, AMC did a little better by her, giving her an actual character (Ceara Connor) with a real backstory and agenda for being in Pine Valley -- even if, IMO, GF wasn't entirely suited to portray Ceara as conceived.
  22. AMEN to that as well. Ironically, he wouldn't feel this overwhelming urge to save us from ourselves if he hadn't grandstanded mere days before the election by pouring MORE salt into Hillary's email wounds. To me, Comey's part of the reason why we're here, so I am uninterested in anything he has to say, thank you very much. IDK if it's that no one cares, or that the media has done such a fantastic job making mountains out of molehills (while diverting our attentions away from REAL issues) that we're simply burned out from the many, many, MANY scandals we've had to follow. But, then again, maybe this is all going precisely according to TrumpCo.'s plans: wear us all down with inane and trivial [!@#$%^&*], so that we're too weak to fight the battles (such as this one and the one @DramatistDreamer has posted) that REALLY count.
  23. White people believe we're supposed to be grateful with whatever crumbs they throw our way. It's appalling.
  24. I think Bill Bell LIKED the idea of large families on soaps, but often had a difficult time finding stories for all the siblings. Once he focused on one or two siblings in particular -- Brooke Logan, Ridge & Thorne Forrester, Chris & Lorie & Leslie Brooks, Paul & Patty Williams -- the others fell by the wayside. IMO, Y&R's Foster and Abbott clans were his most successful, because there were only three siblings in each (Snapper, Greg and Jill; and Jack, Ashley and Traci).
  25. GF has complained in the past how her DAYS character, Diana Colville, was...well, was never REALLY a character. She NEVER knew exactly who Diana was. This was true all the way to her final scenes, when Diana suddenly packed her bags and left town (with her hair dyed brown, no less), suggesting that "Diana Colville" might not have been her true identity after all! (Or so she claimed in an online interview with the Academy of American Television). Frankly, I think DAYS hired GF in much the same way that GH had hired Denise Alexander back in '73. In both situations, it was more about luring away a popular actor from a competing show (although GF hadn't been on GH in at least three years, she was still connected to the show in viewers' memories and hearts), and less about finding the best actor to play a particular, well-developed role.
