  1. I've heard it said that ATWT deliberately went in another direction when re-casting Emily (with KMH), because they felt Melanie Smith came across as "too slutty." Which, if you ask me, is a direct insult to Smith.
  2. I love it, because it finally exposes what I've suspected and been saying all along: he Ain't. That. Rich.
  3. No, I don't think that's Marcia McCabe, but I DO think it's Anna Holbrook (ex-Sharlene, ANOTHER WORLD).
  4. God bless Meredith Baxter, but nothing topped the real Betty. ;)
  5. I just heard about that on the radio. (Yes, I still listen to the radio, lol). Apparently, it was a development no one was expecting, as the two had received seven-year jail sentences.
  6. Actually, I think he was, Amy. If there was any backlash against Jack and Jennifer's relationship, however, it was minimal. Believe it or not, I think DAYS did a good job (comparatively speaking, of course) of redeeming Jack after Kayla's rape.
  7. Well, it IS hilarious when you think about it, lol.
  8. I'm not sure, but from what I remember (from reading Lemay's book), Walter would pull out the scarf and sob into it whenever he was reminded of Wayne's murder.
  9. It's just too ridiculous how little this genre has progressed since those days. Especially when, according to all the research, more people are in favor of same-sex marriages than ever.
  10. But, it's okay, because he's white. (And Republican. But mostly because he's white.) I'll settle for someone holding him down and shaving off that ridiculous comb-over.
  11. Good for you!! I wish I could say my sexuality is genetic as well. AFAIK, however, no one else in my family (on either side) is gay.
  12. Wow, I'm so sorry for you, DaysFanatic and Amy, and the traumas you've had to face. God bless you both for surviving and feeling strong enough to share such personal, painful memories with us. #hugs
  13. Ken Corday did. That's why he rigged the SOD Awards every year. Allegedly.
  14. If Trump were to lose the election (and frankly, I think that's a big if at this point), he'd act just like Betty Broderick did when the prison guards tried to pull her off that bed. It would be hilarious, mortifying and shocking to watch, all at the same time.
  15. IIRC, SB's original EP, Jeffrey Hayden (?), quit around the same time, so it's possible the Dobsons, having worked with MEB at WT, seized an opportunity to bring her over to their show.
  16. I understand one's need to hold fast to religious beliefs (no matter how...misguided those belief would seem to others). But, like you said, @Vee, it wasn't as if Carlotta had always been homophobic, for lack of a better word. Plus, I think when you're an actor, you kinda know that portraying characters who don't necessarily hold the same principles as you...well, it comes with the territory. Otherwise, you're in the wrong line of work (or worse, you're doomed to act solely in faith-based films forever).
  17. The Russians have always viewed Fearless Leader as nothing more than a clown puppet, operating strictly for their amusement. Unfortunately, either his minions and followers are too thick-headed to realize we all have become Putin's court jesters, or they don't care (or both).
  18. She was, although I'd say that JFP had the better aesthetic sense. The music, sets, wardrobe and even makeup during Bunim's tenure at ATWT often veered toward the garish.
  19. That IS nice to hear...but I wish I hadn't just read that. Because, now, my mind has gone to thinking "What if the Dobsons had joined Y&R after Bill Bell's death?" and I really don't want to go there, lol.
  20. As...eccentric as they are, I wish the Dobsons would return to daytime. If not as HW's, then maybe as breakdown or script writers. They were just too good at what they did, and Lord knows this industry needs them more than ever. I love the looks on JFP's and (I think) Steve Kent's faces when Bridget made that comment. It's like they were saying, "Really, bitch? You wanna bring that up now?" Then, they just stood there, looking dumbstruck and crestfallen as hell, and just waiting for it all to be over.
  21. Part of me still wishes there had been some mix-up at the sperm bank, or that Victor's sperm somehow didn't survive once it was removed from there. Anything to undo that shitstorm of a storyline.
  22. Bridget Hursley Dobson is a very complicated woman. Brilliant, but complicated. About the only storyline from the Dobsons' GH stint that gets mentioned is the "Who Killed Phil Brewer?" mystery.
  23. Just as she found it too incredible for Jabot, a cosmetics conglomerate that caters to women, to be run by a man. Which is why she killed off John Abbott. I dunno, maybe she was right about there being no cosmetics companies being run by men, but was killing off John the way to fix the situation? Plus, she had John stick around for awhile as a ghost (and Jack's conscience), because she saw "Six Feet Under" do the same thing and loved it. But, I'm like, "that's a horse of a different color, Lynn." I mean, how long did she expect "Ghost John" to stick around before viewers got tired of the gimmick (and of him)? As I see it, LML would have been better off pursuing her real passion, which was writing for sitcoms.
  24. When *I* think of the '80's, I think of those prisms that Stefano needed to heal his brain tumor, lol. Again, though, I ate up that [!@#$%^&*], because (thanks largely to EP Al Rabin) DAYS remained a thrilling, romantic show. It certainly had more passion than GH, which seemed to be all about the action-adventure stuff, but not much heart.
