  1. Same.
  2. So sad, and so very true.
  3. It's the old adage: "Be careful what you wish for." People wanted an FBI investigation so badly, but it never occurred to them that the WH, through the counsel's office, could still set the parameters. I, myself, didn't realize as much, but I knew that if Trump wanted Kavanaugh in SCOTUS so badly, he'd find a way to make this investigation as toothless as possible. It'll take an act of God (or, yes, Robert Mueller) to stop that man from being confirmed. Otherwise...? If he gets in there, and we learn that he's guilty of so much as an unpaid parking ticket, @marceline and one of my FB friends are right: there's going to be violence.
  4. I smell a cover-up. I knew this would happen. I knew the minute they got the FBI to investigate, the WH and/or Senate would figure out a way to make their task impossible. It's bad enough they get only one week. But, now, the FBI will likely uncover nothing, b/c the WH has rigged it that way; and although it's sickeningly unethical, it's also perfectly legal. What. A. Joke. Honestly, I'm about as checked out as Ashley Kavanaugh appears to be (yet again) in the above picture.
  5. Meanwhile, one of my FB friends just posted an article about the House passing more tax cuts. I can't remember the exact number, but it was somewhere in the trillions. No wonder Trump loves Kav so much. They're both masters at the fine art of distraction. Speaking as someone who did, in fact, stock shelves for a living, I would have to agree with this statement.
  6. Has it been just one year? To me, it's felt like more five.
  7. Mulaney hit the nail on its head. If this were happening on any drama series, daytime or primetime, I'd bail. America in 2018 is what happens when Maria Arena Bell, Ron Carlivati, Josh Griffith, Bob Guza, Jr., Dena Higley, David Kreizman, Leah Laiman, Tom Langan, Megan McTavish, Jean Passanante, Charles Pratt, Jr. and Hogan Sheffer all write for the same show, with Jill Farren Phelps as their producer. Someone needs to cancel this mess of a soap opera, and now.
  8. You know what I like about sitcoms? No matter how crazy things become, you know that, in thirty minutes, it's over. (Unless it's a two-parter. Or a special one-hour episode. Or one of the increasing number of those with continuing storylines -- I hate those.) Conversely, I'm beginning to detest soap operas, because now I know what it feels like when [!@#$%^&*] keeps going...and going...and going....
  9. He lies for the same reason Trump lies: because he's deeply, deeply insecure. And because he can.
  10. I've watched enough "Law & Order" reruns to know that "subpoenas = trouble."
  11. Nah, Winger's good. I'd love it if Brett Kavanaugh were left to twist in the wind for all eternity. But, a week's better than nothing.
  12. But, you might not be too far off the mark. Something happened for Flake to give us all a Tulsa turnaround; and sometimes, what seems like the craziest thing that could happen, is also the very thing that's happening.
  13. Unless...he knows something.
  14. I wouldn't be surprised if someone (Ronan Farrow?) were to discover that the money for those "baseball tickets" was, in fact, a payoff in exchange for someone's silence. ...And just where IS Mark Judge these days?
  15. Well, @marceline, your fanfiction's a lot better than mine. Also, I agree. Mark Felt Deep Throat was right: always follow the money.
  16. Yep. Meanwhile, it comes down once more to [!@#$%^&*] Mitch McConnell. Someone please take that tortoise out of office.
  17. Sadly, I'm beginning to feel that way, too. Animosities keep festering. Incidents keep piling on top of incidents. The centre cannot hold. IKR? Susan, girl, stop milking the suspense. We all know already how you're going to vote. So, just say it and let us get back to our regularly scheduled disappointment.
  18. "I'm stunned," said absolutely no one in the entire universe. Oh, well. Midterms. (Oh, that's right, he's leaving anyway. Whatevs. See you on "Dancing with the Stars," Flake.)
  19. Seriously? LOL!! He is soooooo not her type. Only a fool would think otherwise.
  20. Same. I appreciate the ABA's efforts...and that's all I'm gonna say about that.
  21. Yup.
  22. From the look of that album cover, it seems AMC's Janet Green threw her down the well, too. This song sounds very, very modern for Babs. I'm actually surprised.
  23. “Probably refers to throwing up,” Kavanaugh said. “I’m known to have a weak stomach and always have.” I have an unpredictable stomach myself. Which is why I don't drink beer. How did this man ever get through law school?
  24. A relevant and, I must add, bittersweet surprise. Here's how I see it: whether or not Kavanaugh gets confirmed, there is an empty seat on the SCOTUS bench, and it will be filled during the Trump administration, and it will be filled with a conservative judge. We can HOPE and PRAY the next one won't be AS conservative, but it won't be anyone who won't turn back progress in LGBT, reproductive, civil and other rights for a generation or more. There's just no getting around those facts. So, yeah, go ahead and confirm the mean drunk who likes to rough up women. (I'm sure Clarence Thomas could use the company.) I'll just redirect my attentions toward midterms. But, ladies, I must warn you that if any of you find yourselves in a situation where you have to be alone with this man at any time, for any reason, for God's sake, bring a friend.
