  1. From the read of it, so much is happening, and yet, it all sounds so meh.
  2. My favorite performance of hers will always be in "Johnny Belinda." She imbued what could have been a pitiful character with a quiet, inner strength. And the rape sequence is probably one of the most unnerving in all of classic films.
  3. What IS that on Meg's head?
  4. I remember all the times when the media would try and start some mess between her and the Reagans and she refused to play that game. She felt it wasn't polite to talk about one's ex, and she's right. If only today's so-called celebrities had as much tact, lol. Frankly, I never understood Richard building a racetrack in the first place. I mean, where could they really go with Tuscany Downs that wouldn't have distracted from what was supposed to be the show's major focus: the intrigues revolving around the wine industry? Is there also intrigue in the horse racing industry? Of course. But that's for a different show. It's like when Melissa owned and sang at that nightclub. It's cute, but just get back to the damn grapes!
  5. On the one hand, watching Peter Doocy get schooled on just about everything is like the early Christmas present that keeps on giving all year 'round. Meanwhile, you better BELIEVE I'm happy to see KBJ confirmed to SCOTUS. If only because Clarence Thomas' worst nightmare - having to work with a Black woman again - has finally come true.
  6. As usual, when it comes to this show, I'm confused. How did Jan become pregnant with Shawn's baby when Shawn slept with the devil, who only morphed into Jan in order for Shawn to betray Belle? Is this the real Jan, or is this the devil taking yet another form? New Ad Campaign: "DAYS OF OUR LIVES. NBC Daytime. Make it make sense."
  7. I give credit to FC's wardrobe people for dressing Jane Wyman and others the way their characters SHOULD have been dressed. Chances are, if JW had been on "Dynasty," she would've been wearing expensive Nolan Miller originals even while traipsing through the vineyards.
  8. What's the matter? Did Maggie Haberman run and complain to her bosses that too many people on Twitter were being too mean toward her? Meanwhile, the GOP and the "mainstream media" will apparently stop at nothing to keep another black or brown person from becoming president.
  9. I don't usually agree with Chris Wallace - and by "don't usually," of course, I mean "hardly ever" - but what he said recently on Colbert was the truth: the news business has become just that - a business. Corporations and such have figured out how to monetize the news; and in the process, they have crippled this country - politically, socially, ethically and morally. It's not about delivering a public service anymore; it's about beating "Survivor" or "Big Brother" in the female demographics. Again, say what you will about Bill and Hillary, but at least they knew how to get in the ring with the GOP and fight. Now, it seems Democrats stay on "going high" while going nowhere at the same time.
  10. Richard Bloore should have been fired a long time ago.
  11. It's like a bad "Monty Python" sketch.
  12. Wait, you had nightmares watching "Dressed to Kill"? Well, I guess I shouldn't be TOO harsh on you. After all, Angie Dickinson realizing she accidentally left her panties behind at the apartment of the dude she just had a nooner with is bound to scare anyone.
  13. Josh Griffith doesn't know how to write for them (or for anyone), so he just has them going around town and making announcements instead. Next week, Tessa and Mariah will announce that they're ordering Thai food through Doordash. The week after that? The food was delicious, and they loved watching the first season of "The Gilded Age," too.
  14. Ron Carlivati will not rest until he has made himself an enemy of every race and ethnicity out there. Yay...? James Read and the guy playing E.J. deserve so much better.
  15. Correct. And just like everything else in life that's motivated by outdoing others, gender reveal parties IRL tend to end in bloodshed and mayhem.
  16. Well, Brian De Palma was certainly influenced by Hitchcock when he made that movie (and most others).
  17. It was then-HW Megan McTavish's attempt at bringing Alfred Hitchcock-style psychodrama to GL. At the time, I remember some were praising Frank Beaty's performance as Brent/Marion, but I remember feeling that, tone-wise, it was not the kind of story that belonged on GL.
  18. My condolences to you and your family as well, @JaneAusten. I figured that would happen in the wake of the pandemic. There comes a point when people just can't take anymore bad news. And I think the Republicans are especially taking advantage of our collective reticence, for lack of a better word, pushing through all this terrible legislation that's going to destroy the fabric of our country in the long run. The pushback to certain things isn't as strong as it should be, either because people are tuning out, or they've just plain given up.
  19. "The gender reveal party for Ben and Ciara's baby takes a devilish turn." Gender reveal parties usually do.
  20. We all do. And Tanner Novlan belongs on Hallmark Channel movies.
  21. B&B (and Bradley Bell) is desperate.
  22. That's not the picture that @SFK was referring to. Thank you.
  23. I'm sorry, but if this is the best this show will ever do, then it's time to let the sand out of the old hourglass.
  24. Male characters (and male actors) on B&B are like subway trains: if you miss one, stick around for a few minutes, because you're bound to meet another.
  25. No, it's Ken Meeker (ex-Rafe).
