  1. Which got hyped to the heavens by the likes of Daytime Confidential, thus creating the monster that continues to devour PC to this day. And I STILL say it wasn't so much that he was so good but it was that what was there before him was so bad! I wouldn't be surprised if the next HW's are Shannon Peace and Ashley D. Cook, lol. Can't be worse than me wishing for the return of Gene Palumbo, lol!
  2. It's like what Victoria Wyndham or another AW vet said when NBC finally pulled their show's plug: "Well, they can't [!@#$%^&*] with it now!"
  3. Someone: "Bite your tongue!" Me: "No, bite YOUR tongue, 'cuz you know it's happening!" ICAM! I despised the hero worshipping of Sonny and Jason, but at least GH wasn't so bland!
  4. Trust me, it'd end with Guza being handcuffed and taken downtown by police (sitting right next to LW, who just couldn't anymore with Trevor St. John).
  5. With scenes running an average of 45 seconds. The thing is, if you're gonna tell a story that spans that amount of time, then you have to keep up the momentum and the suspense - ESPECIALLY when you have scenes so freaking short! - something that FV's GH just can't do, regardless of who is nominally the HW.
  6. Yep. I'm sure TPTB will spin it another way, but...c'mon...we know what went down, lol. I'm sorry to say that I'm at that point as well. Love him or hate him, but he wouldn't have put up with Frank's crap. He would've pushed through with his vision and dared Frank to say boo about it.
  7. See, this is why I felt patting FV and RC on their backs so much JUST because GH had fallen so low with whatever regime was there before them was a bad move on viewers' and soap "journalists"' parts that would come back to bite everyone in the end; because, if you were really paying attention, you could see that what those two were doing was all smoke and mirrors. The plain truth is there's never been any substance to anything Frank and Ron have done. Not on OLTL, not on GH, and ESPECIALLY not on DAYS, where Ron runs amok now. But there was more than enough "bad" going around at that time on GH to hold their asses to the fire. Yet, it seemed like all most anyone cared about, aside from their overblown and overplayed favorites, was "Oooh, look at who's coming back for the 50th!". Frankly, I didn't gaf who Frank and Ron were bringing back for the 50th, or any of the Soapy Goodness like "Magic Milo" or "The Two Faces of Kate" that was less like actual, GOOD soap opera and more like a bad drag act. I knew what I was watching was uglier than homemade sin. So, now, here we are: stuck with a controlling, micro-managing EP, who's been made to think his [!@#$%^&*] doesn't stink and who will never, EVER be lodged from this show, no matter what.
  8. Enjoy it while it lasts. It'll be gone again soon enough. Yeah, it seems Frank actually preferred the whole "Jason is brainwashed/the password is 'Susan Moore'" crap that's been rumored, lol.
  9. Yep. Like you said, we're basically at square one. Except now, going forward, everything will be more in keeping with Frank's vision, which makes you question why they bothered firing O'Connor and Van Etten in the first place.
  10. Talk about adding insult to injury! Not only do we lose PM as a HW, BUT...we're forced to endure more airtime with one of "Frank's Kids." It wasn't that long ago when I asked what FV's vision was beyond bloated casts, overly precocious kids who belong on "America's Got Talent" and too-short scenes mixed with stories that don't climax so much as they peter out past the point of anyone caring anymore. Now I know: that's pretty much it. Frank Valentini is a limp dick of a producer, with just enough ego to stop any creative from doing their actual job.
  11. That's why I'm not sticking with GH any longer. Because, even if something magical were to happen in the next several days or weeks, what would be the point? PM and EK could be replaced by Nancy Curlee and Lorraine Broderick tomorrow, but until FV learns to get out of the way and just produce the [!@#$%^&*] show, nothing's gonna change. Nothing. And to think there was a time when I was ready to see Wendy Riche and Bob Guza go. But, like the song says, you don't know what you've got 'til it's gone.
  12. Forgive me, but I’ve gotta take another stab at this one. Are you suggesting, @Errol, that the reason why PM is out and that CVE is back, is because somebody BTS raised a stink over how Dan & Chris were let go and that this is ABCD’s way of avoiding any potential lawsuits? (If so, then I REALLY wouldn’t be surprised to see Dan’s name back in the credits very soon, lol).
  13. Exactly, lol! So many episodes would end up being so short with so many plot holes left unexplained, lol.
  14. LOL!! Why, @Errol, whatever do you mean by that, lol? Don't be surprised if Dan O'Connor returns in the next week or two.
  15. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if Frank and his "new" HW's were rewriting a lot of PM's upcoming material even as we speak.
  16. A long time ago, I remarked that the intelligence level of the writing on GH is exactly what you'd expect from a comic book aficionado and a YA author who (I kid you not) wrote this sentence: "This was clear to Cole Redeker, as his bus farted its way through a November slush to the entrance of Springfield High School." Dan & Chris might've been longtime ABC/GH fans, but watching their work was like watching two white teenage girls named Becky try and write a soap opera, and failing every damn step of the way. Frankly, I'm not interested in a return to that kind of mentality.
  17. I'm not waiting it out. I'm done. I just don't see any point in sticking around even for a little bit longer.
  18. No, I tend to think it was PM who wanted to redeem Heather, since he had worked previously with Alley Mills at B&B, and CVE was just the one who came up with how to do that. (Whether or not PM actually liked that idea or was, in fact, overruled by Frank and maybe EK remains to be seen). But, even without the evil hip, it'll still be easy for CVE and EK to say Heather hasn't really changed. Something else: I think this pretty much guarantees that Lane Davies won't be sticking around for very long again, lol.
  19. My hunch: Nathan Varni (or someone else at the network level) decided a change was needed and went to PM, given his reputation, with the promise of being allowed to write the kind of material he wanted. Frank Valentini, however, had other ideas.
  20. And that's another thing: all signs of Tracy maturing into a proper Q matriarch will likely vanish, and she'll be back to being the snarky grandma who says inappropriate and hurtful things.
  21. Not necessarily. The last several HW'ing regimes seemed to prefer Heather as a recurring psycho. Chances are, we'll find out that Heather hasn't really changed her ways, poisoned hip or no poisoned hip.
  22. And now we know why everyone in PC kept changing jobs. Those was likely the only ideas that PM could get past Frank - and now that he's gone, all Frank/EK/CVE have to do is have everyone say, "You know what? I think I'm better off going back to my old line of work!"
  23. I agree with all three of you. It's clear Frank didn't feel the need to replace Dan & Chris, and resented that the network did (and with someone who had history with GH and a reputation for not being easily controlled), so he did what he could to sabotage PM's work and force him to quit, while keeping Van Etten around as "breakdown writer" for the moment when PM inevitably would quit. IOW, whether or not PM was "headwriter material," the deck was too stacked against him anyway. Whatever. I'm choosing to look ahead to THE GATES (where I have no doubt that PM will land, as a writer on Michele Val Jean's first staff) and saying sayonara to the rest of these sorry-ass shows. In a way, I hope it is. Because, it's clear the industry doesn't want an intelligent writer like him around anymore. Years ago, I said he was better off trying his luck in primetime and streaming shows. My opinion still stands.
  24. I don't think it's that simple, though. You could replace most of the background music, but what about the pop/rock songs that Lisa Hartman often performed on the show as Ciji (and later, as Cathy)? You'd have to edit out those performances entirely, which, in turn, would affect the continuity of storylines, since music played an integral part in the storytelling during those years.
  25. Yeah, for me, that was another, earlier sign (earlier than Van Etten's name showing up again) that something was amiss. Since I don't have to be polite anymore about it, I'll just say that I thought that idea (the poisoned hip) was junk from the beginning and smacked of the kind of idiotic bullshit that Van Etten would come up with.
