  1. Whoo hoo! GL hits No. 3 with a healthy 6.0! Funny to see a 5-way tie for 4th place with a 5.7.
  2. There's a disconnect with the Eric storyline because as others have mentioned, the story itself is bad, and Eric was never portrayed as this strong, steadfast loyal family man. He's always been a philanderer and in the last 15 years, he's had some truly oafish moments... him being back with Donna, the horny, honey-loving younger woman is a reminder of his days being naked outside a window. No offense to the actor, but the character just doesn't give off a warm, "America's father" feeling like a Tom Hanks or whatnot, that would give the audience a cozy, gushy feeling for the character. B&B's canvas has felt aimless ever since Stephanie Forrester died. The fact that so few of his children are showing up during this time period just emphasizes this feeling. Oh yes, Katie needs something to cry over so Heather Tom can nudge out yet another more-deserving, often-overlooked actress in the Leading category. Katie will probably have another heart setback in 2024. In terms of actors phoning it in nowadays on soaps, I would sooner give the cast of DAYS a pass at that, considering they have to film like 12 episodes a week within the confines of a strict schedule ("No overtime allowed!"). B&B is a half hour; even filming 2 episodes a day only puts them on par with hour long soaps during the good o' simple days of 1 Day = 1 Episode.
  3. Jeezus, so one of Tom & Alice's kids was lost in the Korean War in the early 50's, and their great-grandchild David is in his twenties by the mid-70's. Just how old were Tom & Alice and when did Alice start popping out children?
  4. Well it seemed like it did from '93-'97 with Reilly's tone of writing. Plus there was once a mention during the early possession storyline of a "Nor'easter" heading their way, which wouldn't be a name used to describe an incoming snowstorm in the Illinois area... Incidentally, I do recall in DAYS' first episode a scene with Marie and Tony, where it is mentioned that they could "drive down to Boston." Funny how the location of some soap settings seem to change as the writers change (GL's Springfield was once referred to as the state capital, while previously being on the border of one of the Great Lakes. Oy..)
  5. Ah okay, for those who honor the 12 days of Christmas before taking it down at the start of Epiphany. I hear ya.
  6. RHONJ "Friend of" Jenn Fessler: https://pagesix.com/2023/12/04/entertainment/rhonj-star-jennifer-fessler-says-using-ozempic-gave-her-an-impacted-bowel/ “I’m not afraid of Ozempic and I will tell you I have had an experience that was not good — and I’m pretty positive it was about the semaglutide — where I had to go to the hospital for an impacted bowel … and I’m still not nervous about it.” Fessler explained that one of the “side effects” of the drug can be “constipation,” which she dealt with for a while but decided to brush off. “I was drinking no water, eating no vegetables because something that happens, a new experience for me, is being able to eat what I want even when it’s not the most healthy choices and still lose weight,” she explained. “So maybe for the first time in my life, I’m losing weight on pizza and bagels and ice cream." What an idiot.
  7. Oh I agree, I don't have sympathy for her due to her reactions and lack of accountability. I just think she's... reckless, which puts others in danger. That said, yeah, I can't believe I'm interested in the return of Jesus Jugs, my least favorite of the All Blondes era.
  8. Yes. We do it all month long. LOL I actually like that in more recent years on soaps, we see the town's decorations up sooner, within a week or so after Thanksgiving. It's more realistic than seeing families trim their trees on Christmas Eve so that they can enjoy it for what, 2 days? (I'll give them the unwritten law of the Horton family being done on Dec. 24th, cuz that's a decades long tradition)
  9. Nice to see GL hit the No. 4 spot, and with a healthy number earned, not just landing into 4th because others failed worse. After such a dramatic slump across the board, it's nice to see AMC rebound and improve, ATWT rebound and stay strong, Y&R way ahead as top dog, and even Another World got itself back into the 4's, though I'm guessing that's a brief victory.
  10. Man, Bravo is dirty and the dirty people involved are dirtier. First, Sweet Tea brought on to Married to Medicine, now this. It's like they want Shannon to drunkenly drive off a winding road over a cliff. Y'all know she's emotionally imbalanced.
  11. Yeah, I cringed at the line where Carter said he was grateful that Eric accepted him so quickly. It's like, why wouldn't he? What would the reservation be to not do so? It rang peculiar to me. Side Note: I guess that international money well for B&B is drying up. How many times are they going to use that truncated runway room? Another heart to heart between Katie Logan and a random intern?
  12. Always up for a good JER discussion, the good (1993-1997), the bad (2003-2006), and the hermaphrodite raping their own father and getting pregnant (Passions was ugly in general). Though I was a huge fan of his DAYS 1.0 era, at the same time, it couldn't be sustained forever. Even by 1997, the main plot lines (John/Marlena/Kristen, Sami/Austin/Carrie, Bo/Hope/Bille) were mainly in a holding pattern, waiting for their bombastic summertime reveals (meanwhile, Jack & Jenn became a total non-factor with Jack stuck in prison). Under the category of "What if?" I wonder what if Reilly had stayed beyond the Fall of 1997... I doubt we'd have gotten Swamp Girl and Princess Gina and Vivian Alamain with a remote control mood changer via wiring by tooth, but I also don't think we'd have gotten another round of epic sagas like Aremid, Maison Blance, etc. either. Once his initial stuff gets played out, he's played out. But I suppose all this discussion is best saved for a different thread.
  13. Well damn, I feel bamboozled. They put her up there like a regular castmember, then give us only snippets? I know she started filming later, but didn't think she'd cut out so early.
  14. Get it girls! Speaking of, I attended my second Countess LuAnn Cabaret show this weekend in Chicago (I saw another superstar this weekend as well... Mariah Carey), and it was another fun, boozy night of songs and laughter. No real tea to share, other than they're hoping Bravo picks them up for a second season of Crappie Lake in another town. During the audience Q&A (unfortunately I didn't get picked to ask a question like the last time), someone asked what Lu thought of the NuRHONY girls, and she turned around and asked for our feedback on each castmember. Jenna got the biggest applause by far. Jessel, Ubah, and Brynn got good applause. It was a mixed reaction to Erin. Sai got a BOO'ed across the board, to which LuAnn said she agreed with us. Seats in the front! Can't wait for the next one
  15. Give me a win for Sharon Case, Krista Allen (cuz why not), and Robert Newman, who was overlooked too often for GL. That, along with the In Memoriam, is what I'll be watching for.
  16. Just outta curiosity, does anyone know of areas in the Mountain Time Zone that had their daytime soap line-up airing at 10:30am to 2pm? I otherwise assumed Mountain would air the same as central (11:30 to 3pm). Mountain always seems to be the forgotten time zone since it affects the least amount of people in the US. Years ago when I was a teen visiting family in the northwest corner of Iowa, their local CBS affiliate was KELO out of Sioux Falls, SD. And I recall seeing a commercial for Bold & Beautiful and they said it aired at 11:30am. I would think then that Y&R aired before it at 10:30am unless KELO aired the soaps out of order.
  17. Love the rundown. I had to laugh at the "CLOCK IN, GIRL!!! That house ain't going to pay for itself." comment. Well done. I definitely agree about the divide in this group, and how it can only go on for so long before people start getting cut from the show or the show itself gets too dark to be enjoyable (see: last season's RHONJ). I think La Dame and Gizelle both see the bigger picture here in that the show could unravel (and people could get fired) and they need to mend fences and play nice with one another. For instance, after Season 5, you could've written off any type of friendship between Karen and Gizelle, yet they're back to laughing it up and throwing innocent digs instead of deep cuts. Clearly, Gizelle made a mess for herself with the Candiace/Chris debacle which I don't see Candiace forgiving anytime soon. And I'll watch and wait to see if Gizelle conjures up any maturity in regards to playing nice with Wendy, since Wendy is still the target person to get iced off the show out of the group. I'm not impressed with the new girl either or what she's stirring up with Wendy's family, whether Wendy already knew about it or not.
  18. LOL aw snap, I made the same mistake!
  19. I love Heavenly! The way she slips and lets the "yo mamma" slip out every so often is hilarious. Again, I haven't seen *every* episode and did a lot of catchup via reunions, but despite what others may say here, I love all the women for what they bring to the show: Heavenly, Quad, Simone, Jackie, Toya. And I'd welcome back Mariah easily, along with Contessa or Lisa-Nicole.
  20. I'm watching and loving it. I agree this is the best Bravo show, outshining the Housewives for sure. I like how through all the comings and goings, you still have the core cast and in their 10th season, are still fun and interesting, the friendships are real, and it doesn't come off forced. Yeah, Sweet Tea sure doesn't fit the mold, but she's kind of fun to watch in a trainwreck kind of way, what with her bridezilla antics, blowing up at her own sister, and just being a little clueless in general. Also agree about Porsha. She's like a throwback to Housewives days gone by, when we actually believed her schtick was real and her quips weren't force-fed to her by producers to look witty and clever. I hope the likes of Heavenly, Simone and Jackie continue to side-eye her and call it out. M2M comes off as less edited, aside from the usual reality TV fare like Quad's perfectly producer-timed entrance to the bachelorette party. Overall, I love the couple dynamics on this show, particularly Dr. Simone & Cecil, and Toya & Eugene. And god bless Dr. Damon for being the yang to Dr. Heavenly's yin. LOL. Sunday nights with M2M and Potomac is currently my favorite TV night. Side Note: Any tea as to why Dr. Contessa left the series? Was it her own choice?
  21. Currently, they are! They're back up in the 7's! GH must really crash and burn in '91, similar to DAYS in '89.
  22. I know we soap fans scoff when industry insiders blame viewer erosion on cable, internet, etc. but I do wonder what the percentages of households buying cable was like between 1988 to 1990.
  23. She's doing it right. Subtle work done and staying fit. Well done KKL Keep on being that soap goddess diva! Side note: Glad to see Jennifer Gareis' work has settled and she looks like a snack too.
  24. Y&R hits 9+ a few times around early 1994, I think. One week hitting a 9.7. In fact, the majority of the soaps were on an upswing in 1993/1994 before the Ford Bronco chase... Looking at these 1990 numbers, it's kind of shocking to see so many of the powerhouse shows wading in the 5's so quickly.
  25. I love Meredith's crazy ass when she's triggered, but other than the YOU. CAN. LEAVE!!! and the bathtub comment, she didn't really offer much this year. Okay, I guess it's time to dump on SLC, but half the time when I'm watching, I think back to Nene's comments about how Housewives these days don't produce *stars* anymore and this couldn't be more true than watching Salt Lake City (although I can't comment on Miami or Dubai). I guess you could say Heather and Lisa, but Lisa really showed her ass this season and it's not a cute look at all. Talk about a self absorbed, tone deaf motor mouth with tunnel vision.
