DAYS: August 2024 Discussion Thread
Because EOB got a bad Theresa wig and lousy story does not mean she was set up to fail. With that argument, we're looking at about 75% of the cast. The fact is, O'Brien NEVER worked as Theresa. She never resembled the character we knew, not in looks or attitude or emotion or anything else. Not for one minute did I ever feel I was watching Theresa. It never worked. Is that EOB's fault? Uh....yeah. She's a good actress in the right role. In the role of Theresa, she was bad. When an actor is miscast, production gets blame, but so should the actor.

I appreciate your comment about the Dex/Joss love scenes. None of it was too much, not in length and not in content. Sexy and young is definitely needed, and they give it. Joss haters dump on anything she does, and it's unfair, in my opinion. The way this was shot makes the Brook Lynn/Chase love scenes look even worse. It's clear that someone is allowing actors to call the shots -- or at least some of them -- and that seldom leads to good television.

There's so much wrong with DAYS these days -- and especially with this episode -- that it's really hard to believe. The amount of incompetence on the screen is really something. And it took 6+ months more of this before Ron was fired? Honestly, what we're seeing is an embarrassment to soap opera. Something this bad should not be on the air.

-- Bryan Craig was pretty good, considering he wasn't given much. Maurice Benard wasn't awful (which I expected), but that performance wasn't special in any way. -- Too much of Joss is not good, but these latest complaints about her are unfair, in my opinion. She hasn't been eating the show. -- I'll stick up for Tajh Bellow, who's really getting bashed here by a few people. I think he's been just fine.

Yeah, I agree that Kristina's rootability played a big factor here. There was real danger in turning the audience against her. Looks like TJ might be the new bad guy in this story, but I don't think GH cares as much about him as Kristina. We both know why we heard about Kristina possibly keeping the baby for months: GH changed the storyline. One fall through a window OSHA would never approve and the 180 change was made.

-- Kind of stunned that GH didn't milk the "Will the baby survive?" story for at least a few days. It happened so fast that it just felt...weird. -- And SPARE ME the Sonny Might Jump stuff. Seriously? I don't think that works, even with Sonny's medication troubles. -- The writing for Natalia and Blaze continues to be abysmal. Natalia tells Blaze to leave the hospital (and Kristina) withe her and she LISTENS? Then we get more word salad from Natalia again trying to explain her homophobia. -- Star performer of the day was Kristen Vaganos as Molly. No one else even close.
