Enjoyed more than usual this week, although I could do without Clyde and Kristen, both of whom I've grown to despise. I give Carlivati credit for so many gay characters, but putting Javi with Leo? No. Just no. It's like getting the best peanut butter and jelly and putting it on 6-day old bread. Bread that's moldy. In her interview with Michael Fairman, Diedre Hall mentioned that Body & Soul was over -- and that Ron was sent packing because of it. So do we have MONTHS of this B&S crap to come??? I did love seeing how short Queen Dee was with Fairman. She takes no prisoners, and I loved it.

Oh, Paul, you're forgetting that Hero Victor saved Nikki from the stripper pole! I agree, but when you have Detective Chance saying "I keep asking what I'm missing!" we can't expect Nikki to notice all that heavy construction machinery on the property. And don't forget, Nikki's been buried in financials at Newman. 😂

I agree with others that Ed Scott deserves credit for all the changes in lighting and production that we're seeing. Better wardrobe is another indication that someone's paying attention to this show -- and its ratings. Still....I can in no way sign on to that greenscreen of the graveyard at Heather's funeral. That was awful. Just because it was better than the completely horrendous greenscreens we've seen in the past few months doesn't excuse it. It took me right out of the scene, and could not have looked worse or more fake. If they can't do better than a greenscreen out of the 1980s, skip it. Don't do it at all.

GH: November 2024 Discussion Thread
I didn't like today's episode. Yes, the individual performances were fine, but the grief and cry scenes were unrelenting -- just one after another, and for me that diluted any emotional impact. I realize we have to see a lot of people reacting to Sam's death, and I know that can't be dragged over 2 weeks, but something about this screamed overkill to me. I also find it head-scratching that the episode ended with Holly and Robert, and not with the Sam montage with Laura's voiceover. Stupid decision.

NAC is the ONLY good thing about Grotesquerie. He's really hot and sexy in it. The finale was awful. There were dozens and even hundreds of symbols and Easter eggs throughout the 10 episodes, and none of them were explained. I was hate watching from episode 5 on, and if it's renewed, I won't be back. It SUCKS.

That Closer article about GH's troubles is nothing but a pieced-together mess of things we've read elsewhere. They had no new insights. They mention GH looking for "big name actors" to give ratings a boost, citing Sarah Sherman from SNL. She's a big name? Regardless, we haven't seen any other sign that GH is looking for name actors in cameos.

True, and the writing isn't supporting them, either. NLG did all she could in her scenes with Sam, but what she was given was tired and cliche. I've heard it all before on dozens of soaps, and I just wasn't moved when I should have been. And what's with the continuity in makeup and hair? Are they piecing scenes taped on different days? When Alexis is in the hospital waiting area, she looks stripped of makeup and very pale. In Sam's room, she's wearing more eye makeup and her face has a sheen. Van Hansis' hair was not shiny and slicked back the way it was in the operating room. Did the hair product stop working?

I've been supportive, too, which is why this came off so poorly to me. I've seen A LOT of those hospital paddle scenes over the years, but this one had me not considering the patient at all because I couldn't believe the doctor and hospital staff I was watching. Let me know what you think.

-- I don't trust that this show considered when to add this Drake tribute. I don't believe they gave any thought to that at all. I think the tribute was ready, so they added it. -- Unpopular opinion here, I know, but I've enjoyed JPL on his return. It's all over-the-top, but it seems intentional to me, and it works. It's hard to look away, I know that. -- Javi might be a cliche so far, but the actor is pretty good.

I think we will see the ranch set a lot. I guess that'll be an improvement from characters moving from one restaurant to another. Seems like we're supposed to believe Nick is still in his "new house" that we last saw...I don't remember when. I do recall it being a pretty large space, and they even had a long hallway attached to it. I'm really happy about the ranch coming back, but that won't be enough to satisfy me. The sets problem at Y&R is enormous, and one of the show's biggest flaws. I can't stand what we're seeing right now. I hope Ed Scott's return addresses this.

Brooke, I mean. It's laughable to hear Carter act as if it's a mind-blowing move to add fragrances and handbags to the Forrester line. Doesn't just about every fashion house in the world already do this? Carter said he's been developing this for many years. Uh....ok then. That entire conversation is something I hope we never hear on Beyond The Gates. It's so dated and ridiculous.
