  1. All of this is on point -- ALL of it. I especially appreciate your comments about Will, who's written so absurdly that I have no words. Will doesn't represent in any way a teenager, nor does he represent someone who's grown up around wealth. I don't know what they're going for with him, but it isn't realistic or sustainable. No one with those looks and money would act that way. No one that age would act that way. He's like some boy who grew up in a plastic bubble and who has no idea how to behave and interact with others. In this way, it's like he's on the spectrum and is clueless about social cues. The one thing they've been good at? Making sure we know where his interests don't lie. So what does Bradley Bell do? Put him in a fashion house where we know he doesn't belong. None of this is criticism of Crew Morrow, who's doing a great job with the crap they've given him.
  2. Thanks for the information. It certainly does impact the stories we see. My only point was that the average viewer age has not doubled in 20 years. It's been high for a long time. The problem is that by telling stories with that 65+ demo in mind, you get planned obsolescence. You hold onto people who are dying and bring in no one new. The clock is ticking, and the soaps do not care. The networks ascribe to the belief that in the age of streaming, there's no way to bring in new viewers. They operate out of fear -- fear that these blue-haired fraus will stop watching. DAYS streams so is a little bolder with some cultural touchstones (like gay characters), but just a little. I thought we'd get a more adult DAYS on Peacock. That hasn't happened. I don't pretend to have the answers. I just know that when viewers can watch wildly interesting and adult series on cable and streamers, these network soaps look even more dated.
  3. I agree that the average viewer of soaps is over 60. I do not think it was 35 in the early 2000s.
  4. So bad, don't care. They have no idea what to do with Chase and Brook Lynn. How can you waste a hot guy like Josh Swickard this way? In other news, my laugh of the day came from that wig they plopped on Diane's head. Who decided she needed 3x as many bangs? It looked like a Halloween costume wig.
  5. You need evidence as to why daytime soaps are failing and losing viewers? Netflix has a Top 10 series like Heartstopper with LGBTQ+ teenage characters leading the show, and a network soap about a FASHION HOUSE is afraid to have a single gay character. It's insane, and it's operating out of FEAR of losing blue-haired grandmas who don't know how to use their remotes. Even Y&R is better, though I hesitate giving them any praise. We get Tessa and Mariah, but they have no storyline, and it's clear that Y&R is deathly afraid of showing gay males.
  6. The coming out to Lucky was nicey and unrealistic, I agree. Lucky could have asked more questions, such as "How do you know?" or "When did you discover this about yourself?" or "How difficult has this all been for you?" Seems like GH just wants to move past that plot point quickly and not pull another "Hi, I'm Natalia with the Homosexualist Lesbian Daughter Who's Going Through A Phase And If Not, I Have to Hate The Sin And Love The Sinner."
  7. It was boring. Let's face it. Would a guy who looks like Will have to intern at a fashion company to get attention from girls? He acts like he's never been around a hot girl before. The least they could do is have some gay guys working there eyeing Will up and down. THAT would be realistic. But yeah, I know that in Brad Bell's fashion world, there is no gay except for a flaming wedding planner every few years.
  8. The establishing shots used by DAYS just get worse and worse. They're laughable, looking tlike they were found in some TV production starter pack. More brilliant work from Janet Spellman-Drucker!
  9. I agree with all this. While I'm really happy to see Lucky accept Aiden so quickly, I want to see some pushback against him disappearing for so long. We just had Natalia The Homophobic Mother, so I'm glad we're not getting a repeat of that with Lucky. Disagree completely. He didn't look pained at all. He looked emotional. And that preview? Looked incredibly good to me -- and I can't wait to see it.
  10. Crew Morrow is doing a good job as Will, although I am having a hard time picturing him doing any work at all as an intern at Forrester. I realize that no one at Forrester really does much, though. P.S. Hope is such a hoebag.
  11. I agree. That was really nicely done. Very emotional, but also completely authentic.
  12. LMAOOOOOO I had to Google it: Broken heart syndrome, also known as Takotsubo cardiomyopathy or stress cardiomyopathy, is a temporary heart condition that is often triggered by extreme emotional or physical stress. This condition leads to a sudden weakening of the heart’s main pumping chamber, the left ventricle. Symptoms Sudden chest pain Shortness of breath Fatigue Cold sweats Lightheadedness Causes Severe emotional stress (e.g., loss of a loved one, intense fear) Physical stress (e.g., surgery, serious illness) Sudden drop in blood pressure Domestic violence Asthma attack Treatment Beta blockers Blood thinners Diuretics
  13. I hate everything about Body & Soul with every fiber of my being. This meta-stuff-on-steroids does not work on a daily basis.
  14. I agree. I thought he was really good. Very natural.
  15. Katie says Bill has done work on himself to be a better person.
  16. Didn't you just say "I am close to reporting those kind of posts; it's uncomfortable, and predatory" when mentioning posters commenting on the new Aiden actor? So you're uncomfortable reading that new Aiden is good looking but don't have a problem with a teen in a relationship with a much older guy???
  17. hehe Of course. So much is over the top, but I enjoyed it anyway.
  18. Terry told Liz that "Lucky looks good....really good." Seriously? He looks homeless.
  19. Clayton Norcross was a great looking guy when he was on B&B, but he's also a really good looking 70 year old.
  20. I would give anything to have Brooke return to being the Slut of the Valley.
  21. When Brooke and Ridge kissed today, there was zero passion and chemistry -- even less than usual. They'd be better off playing brother and sister, because there's nothing there.
  22. Jason and Anna better be a fake out. DO. NOT. WANT.
