  1. I love what I know about Greg Rikaart as a person. He's a pretty outstanding human being. However, I don't think Rikaart is blameless when it comes to the character Leo. Yes, the writing is bad, as we've all pointed out, but in my opinion the way he plays Leo is also a fail. I just don't think it works.
  2. I wish you were being sarcastic. MY problem with Leo and Javi isn't the age gap. It's Leo. It's the Leo character and all the damage done to that character. It's who he is and the way he's written. Greg Rikaart is good-looking, and I've said exactly that. I've also said he's not sexy and he's not hot, and pairing him with the new hot gay guy in town doesn't work for me. It's especially bad that this coupling has been rushed so they could hurry up and get to their first break up. Look, I love gay representation on soaps. Can't DAYS ever do hot and sexy?
  3. Looking soooooo good. I am a sucker for big, thick quads, as well as that same thickness everywhere 😉
  4. I appreciate JJ's lowkey acting style, just as I appreciated Ryan Carnes as Lucas. It comes off as very natural, and there's nothing obvious about it. Do I want that across the canvas? I don't. I wouldn't want Maura West to tone down anything she does, from reactions to line readings, but it works for Lucky because Jackson makes it real. I do think the writing has failed him to this point. Improve that and get him a hairstyle that isn't annoying, and we've got a deal.
  5. -- I've already accepted Alexa Havins as Lulu. I wish Emme Rylan well, but GH was right to replace her. Her makeup and hair do look awfully good for someone who's been in a coma for years LOL -- So glad we're done with Lucas' self-flagellation over Sam's death. I detest nothing more on soaps than characters who blame themselves and make themselves the center of attention. -- Asher Antonyzyn (Danny) did more good work today in his scenes with Steve Burton. -- Will Drew be killed off? Based on this show's track record, no way. Characters we despise are kept around much longer than anyone wanted. And now Drew becomes guardian for Sam's kids? I don't even feel like CM is related to any of these people. He's not Drew and he never was.
  6. -- I agree with you. I'll abide by the moderators here, but I never thought of weight loss meds as a bad thing or as something shameful. I don't see this as any different than commenting on an actor getting Botox. -- All the comments here from the last 24 hours make it pretty clear that GH is where potential goes to die. I don't think any other soap created characters with so much unfulfilled potential. -- I do not understand the criticism of Asher Antonyzyn (Danny). I thought his performance at the funeral was one of the best, and I was moved by it.
  7. On the topic of sets....am I the only one who thinks that foyer at the Quartermaine mansion is a mess? I realize it's been refreshed/remodeled over the years, but I never remember them getting it right. It always looks like set designers are struggling to make it look elegant and expensive, and it always has a warehouse look. The most recent change gave it that awful wallpaper that I guess is supposed to warm it up. On a show that does well with so many sets, I can't understand why they can't get this one right.
  8. I actually meant JAVI should have been the town slut for months!!! I am speaking for myself. DAYS had the chance to go hot and sexy and fun with Javi, but already they've saddled him with Leo. Speaking for myself, that's a fail.
  9. Even if he hadn't been fired for writing Body & Soul, Ron Carlivati should have been fired for putting Leo and Javi together. GR is a decent looking guy, but he's not hot, he's not sexy, and he's in no way an instant attraction to a gay guy. Leo should have been the town slut for months. What a waste.
  10. Add me to the list of those who think Kirsten Storms looks absolutely incredible. She's also avoided that facial waste look of so many Ozempic patients. I hope she holds her weight here and doesn't think she needs to lose any more.
  11. I will agree that GH is doing it worse with Trina and Kai, and I had to post about that on the GH thread. The cliches are maddening.
  12. Could the writing and story for Trina and Kai BE any more cliche? UGH.
  13. Sorry to hear this, but I get it. I wish I was strong enough to quit it. Do you really find it charming? You're losing me here. I just don't see anything but middle school googly eyes and even worse dialogue. It's interesting that the actor playing the stalker, Christian Weissmann, is gay and out. Another gay actor hired on a show that won't write gay characters.
  14. -- Good on you for kicking off a discussion about Gio, a character (and actor) the show has done all, all wrong. GM has personality, and it comes across on the screen. He's actually doing MORE with what's written for him, which is basically nothing. I cannot believe the way GH has hidden his physique. Makes zero sense, especially with Frank in charge. Likewise, it's nuts that he's shown no interest in anyone. I don't get it. GM is a decent actor and he looks more than good enough to show off. I agree. They'll never do it. No guts. We'd get a ton of complaints that "Everyone on this show is gay." That doesn't work for me. I realize that doesn't mean they won't do it, but Joss reads older than Gio in my eyes. Moving her from Dex to Gio is like moving her from an adult to a kid.
  15. That's where I am on Y&R. I can deal with this questionable material when the show looks this good. I had really given up on Y&R and on hoping we'd ever see the show we knew again. I've posted more about the sets problem and the production cheapness as much or more than I've complained about the writing. The entire production seems energized, created by people who care.
  16. Way too many writing agendas. I feel like the Keystone Cops are in charge.
  17. From the Jonathan Jackson we know, he cannot be happy about this storyline. I can't imagine anyone being happy to return to writing like this.
  18. Yeah, and we're getting teased -- again -- that Bill might have feelings (including sexual) for Luna. I think it's all a fakeout and that the show will not go there.
  19. Completely agree with that, and it's especially bad on a show that pretends it's progressive on LGBTQ+ characters and stories. It's laughable. Also agree with you about Van Hansis. "Variable at best" is the way to describe these performances. I might be less judgmental if he played a new character, I don't know. This just doesn't feel like Lucas to me.
  20. It's hard to believe the way Will has been turned into a complete dork with very little personality beyond "She's so hot."
  21. Lucky: "If what I'm looking for isn't here, then why should I stay?" Are you kidding me with this dialogue? GH works overtime to bring back Jonathan Jackson and then saddles him with this crap? Lucky is perpetually saddled with teenage angst + the 7 year old who wants to run away from home every other month. It's maddening. And did GH/ABC become afraid of the Aiden character during his first 2 appearances? I don't understand writing in gay characters and then having this much fear over writing for them. There was so much to mine about Aiden and Lucky's relationship with him, and all we know is "They've talked." GH spent more time on deciding to have Sonny and Lucky spar in the boxing ring and deciding to give JJ sleeves while letting MB go sleeveless.
  22. This week has been bad, but today was the worst. The show was boring beyond belief, as if someone said "Filler is what we need." As others have stated, the dialogue has no edge, no bite, no substance. It's hard to care about any of this.
  23. -- Tate looks good in clothes, but shirtless? Just dayum. That boy is amazing. -- Don't know why, but I'm really disliking Holly. --Casey Moss has been great this week. --Also great? Cherie Jiminez as Gabi. She's better in the role than Camila Banus.
