  1. Parts of the article are over-the-top -- the writer is clearly a fanboy -- but I don't really have a problem with it. Pieces like that are for the fans and Evan Hofer did have a few even if his fan base isn't on this board. I don't think EH is a future Oscar winner, but he was fine on GH, especially when you consider the way his character was bounced around. This was a GH failure, IMO. Does Hofer lay on the praise for GH and its actors a little thick? Yes, but I think that's a smart move. Scorched earth almost never helps, and "Bye everyone" doesn't open many doors either. Being this positive on the way out can't hurt. I won't miss Dex, but I did like him there, if that makes sense. I can't say the same about a lot of GH characters.
  2. That alone is enough to make me look at the PM tenure as a fail. With a cast of dozens, you're getting rid of Maura West? Just no. I feel bad for Eden, too, and it's really the reason I'm not sure about killing off Dex. Three deaths for Joss already? There were a lot of ways to make the Dex character work, and GH avoided all of them.
  3. Sorry, I don't understand this. How does adding a bunch of dayplayers show budget crunching? Yes, those actors are paid little, but they still add to the budget. They aren't free.
  4. I'm still not ready to blame the budget for these cast exits -- not when we get characters like the woman with the Euro-trash accent and a dozen jocks brawling in the park.
  5. Yeah, I'm fine with either of them or Alex going shirtless even in the dead of winter. IT is hilarious to see Xander lifting weights in the living room.
  6. Good question. I think it depends on what "doing well" means. We're all REALLY excited here about BTG, but it's not going to be a cakewalk to get "good" ratings. My fingers are crossed, but I honestly think ratings won't be as high as we're expecting. ABC and NBC would have to cancel extensions of their GMA and Today franchises to make room for a new soap, and I have a feeling those afternoon news/entertainment shows are very inexpensive. I think off-the-hook ratings -- something like those of TPIR or even Y&R -- would open TV execs eyes to more soaps, but I don't expect that to happen.
  7. -- So Carter's in charge of Forrester Creations. What do he and Hope first decide to do? Carter sits at Ridge's desk and Pleather Hope sits on his lap to stroke his head. Yeah, That screams leading a company. -- Does Ridge get to clear his desk and office? Does he get to take his family photos? -- Why is Will all "Congrats, man" and "Congrats, cuz!" when he hears about the takeover? Who talks and acts this way? Among first people you deliver this company-changing move are Will and Electra? -- Steffy talks to her mother. That's what Rebecca Budig has already become -- a talk-to. -- Uh oh, next week we already get Ridge leaning in to Taylor for a kiss. Maybe Taylor should be called a moron instead of a talk-to. And maybe Ridge should look in the mirror when he calls someone a slut. -- Ridge is all "Carter and Hope stole my company" when you could hire someone from BuyALawyer.com to get that agreement thrown out. -- I've never seen AI look the way it does on Remy's computer.
  8. Ham fisted is right. And when Kai was interviewed and when Trina talked to Kai after the game, why did production lay an audio track under it that was of a game in progress? Don't get me started on Trina having no clue about what a bowl game is. Agree completely. Honestly, I was struck by the LOADS of hypocrisy in that room. Yes, The video was bad, but just about everyone in that room was guilty of something as bad -- or worse. I mean, come on. And miss me with Joss and Trina stepping out of the room, as if it would be harmful for them to hear what happened. Yeah, I know Joss had to jet to the hospital and Trina to the stadium, buT still. Dex's death was a surprise, and everyone does deserve applause for keeping that quiet. I guess we should have realized he was in deep trouble when we got romantic and sex scenes between Joss and Dex this week after seeing nothing for months. Typical bad soap writing. Why Elizabeth is permitted ANYWHERE near Dex is a mystery considering what happened with Sam.
  9. Imagine turning Kristina into this cauldron of bitterness and hate while trying desperately to redeem Natalia and pimp her as some sweet soul "deep down inside." And imagine part of that pimping being Natalia talk about how good Sonny is with his kids.
  10. Exactly -- especially since Ric was notified while sitting at the same table just a minute after her card was declined. The sad thing is that "No one's thinking this through" can't even be used as a defense or explanation. They just don't care about viewers. It's a lack of respect and the feeling that we'll put up with anything. I guess that's partly true.
  11. I don't think it was rushed, either. It's probably ending at the close of a 13-week cycle, and they didn't want to pay for another cycle. TPIR reruns are much cheaper to air and will probably do as well as The Talk in the ratings.
  12. 🤣😂🤣 I live for these moments, tbh. Makes up for the ridiculous story and dialogue. Yeah, poor Trina is right. This makes All American look like Citizen Kane. Speaking of crazy people....who are the idiots who think making Kristina this unlikable is the answer? Sometimes the actor can be blamed, but in this case, I can't blame Kate Mansi. I think the writing for her is terrible, making her cold and brittle.
  13. The writing continues to be laughable. Seeing Carter take his place as CEO at Ridge's desk was an absolute laugh riot, as was Hope the Pleather Queen standing by his side. Then Zende comes in and takes an absolute fit with "You stole Grandpa's company!" only to be pacified a minute later because Hope asks him to stay on as lead designer. Hey, Zende, can we see some of those designs? 😂 I guess RJ is in the other room coloring in some designs with his Crayolas.
  14. -- LMAO at Ava's credit card being declined. Since when do waiters say things such as "I'm afraid you'll have to destroy your card, Miss Jerome"? 😂 -- Also LOL, as well as rolling my eyes, at all the football stuff. -- PCU plays on a weekday? -- No one cared about football or even mentioned it before this, yet now everyone is a fan? -- A TV appears in the Q mansion for the first time so we can turn on the football game? There had to be a better way to get Michael's slut shaming video in front of the others.
  15. The fratboy brawl scenes were bad, but I can't blame the actors -- not when things are thrown together so quickly, so poorly, and so badly written. I'm with you completely on this. I do not want Erica Kane or Victoria Lord ANYWHERE near Port Charles. I cannot believe people are even entertaining this as a good idea. GH makes a lot of mistakes, but I don't think they're that stupid and desperate.
  16. Yep. He was good in his first run, and that's it. There are about 160,000 actors in SAG, and DAYS latches onto villains as if no one else could fill that role.
  17. Any idea if the rumors about Matthew Atkinson are true? That he refuses to play shirtless and sexy scenes and that's why he's gone?
  18. Are you trolling us with this? Leo ruins every storyline he's in.
  19. LMAO at the scene with Steffy telling off Hope and Carter and storming out. The scene ends with Hope and Carter nodding their heads to each other. I mean, WTF? 😂🤣😂
  20. This show and those accents. Jesus. I was bored today.
  21. Awful, horrible writing. I feel sorry for actors having to recite dialogue like this. Give Steffy that line, and I feel differently, but from Ridge? No. Agree with you and others that RJ should be in the mix. This is another example of Brad getting bored with a character after 6 months.
  22. -- It's very cool that Dex's hair remained perfectly styled while he was at GH as a "stabbing victim." -- That whole teenage brawl was embarrassingly written. Was it worth all that to make us consider that one of those boys stabbed Dex? -- I had to LOL that the police didn't clear that entire area after the stabbing -- while the same 5 people continued to stare at a few Xmas trees for no apparent reason. The writing for Trina continues to be bad. She does one 180 after another regarding Kai, and TA isn't helping matters with her inauthentic performance.
  23. I agree -- no one is getting $10k per episode, or even $8k. Those figures seem to be pulled out of nowhere.
  24. I realize they're paid day rates. That still adds to the budget. I can't see cutting core characters to save money when they're essentially throwing it away on these day players that add very little to the show.
  25. I think writers have changed course on Cyrus so many times it's laughable. I would bet money that any original plan or Cyrus was ever followed through. This should be the end of Cyrus, but we all know Frank doesn't ditch villains easily or at all. And Michael E Knight is back? For what??? We keep talking about budget cuts, and then we see actors like MEK and Morgan Fairchild getting paid, along with some day player on the guitar at the Xmas tree lot. Why not save a few bucks and get Giolin busy with some Ode to Joy?
