I LOVE Leo. The show must get great feedback about him or they wouldn’t keep writing for him for years now. I read Facebook boards that love Leo as well. I’d say that Ron and Jamey are winning in life! For someone who can’t write, Ron has been employed steadily for almost 30 years in daytime, winning some Emmys and Writers Guild Awards along the way. Jamey has also done well. Had his own show, written Days for years, and wrote some other show. I like Ron and I cannot stand Jamey but facts are facts. They have been successful in their careers and Michele Val Jean wants them at BTG. She knows what she’s doing. Kudos to both Ron and Jamey for getting gigs at the hottest show in daytime.

Gosh, there were so many GOOD writers back then. Ron’s gone and Jamey probably wants the Headwriter position. Shudder! I wish Days has a storyline worth watching. Ron checked out.

I enjoy being unpopular. I actually met and spoke with Ron Carlivati in P-town. Keeping this to Days, yes he was burned out. He was fired from Days and got hired by MVJ immediately! I’m finding much interesting on Days. It’s boring.

Hang in there! We're in the home stretch now Days is SOOOOOO boring right now. Rafe/Fake Rafe. Dumb stuff. This was approved by Janet Spellman-Drucker. Don't expect miracles. Remember that Corday, Peacock Execs and the god awful Spellman-Drucker are still there. They all approved the Body & Soul storyline. Ron pitched storylines and had to get them approved by his bosses before they made it to air. His bosses approved Body & Soul. I'm glad that Ron Carlivati was immediately hired by Michele Val Jean!

So was Mary-Ellis Bunim the youngest EP in soap history? She was in her late 20’s/early 30’s at SFT. Impressive. In the summer of 1979, SFT was killing it in the ratings.

I spent some time on the ATWT set during this time. 402 East 76th Street. Generally, it was a happy set, but some actors weren’t thrilled with Margaret Colin and Justin Deas. They were exploding and annoying their co stars.

Too bad there isn’t consistency in blame.

Re:Wheeler and Hurst. A 70 year old legacy show is crumbling down around you and (allegedly - you can NEVER trust what that person says) and they are going over word for word the disastrous Olivia and Natalia scenes???? Really? That’s your focus while GL dies around you? It can never be said enough that thank God Wheeler and Hurst never worked again in daytime. It’s criminal what they did to kill GL.

You said it much more succinctly than I could. It didn’t make sense that Olivia was suddenly gay. Brings back bad memories. lol Wheeler was such a mess.

I HATED that Olivia became gay. Hated Otalia. It didn’t make sense. And inept Ellen Wheeler is going word for word with those scenes while the entire show Guiding Light is crashing around her and that is her focus??? I have a new profound dislike for Wheeler. She truly killed GL. Add Hurst in there too. She didn’t help save the show.

Wheeler was a total disaster as EP. She killed GL. Peapack??? Worst idea ever. Thank God she never worked in daytime again. An EP should not be crying everyday, as described in Kim Zimmer's book. Wheeler obviously knew that she was in way over her head and had no idea what she was doing, other than killing the show. Firing Jerry verDorn? Unforgiveable.

I want to FREELY unload a ton of VHS soap tapes that sit in my basement. Mostly from 1986 on and I know some of those tapes have kinetoscope scenes from older soaps. There is alot of old stuff out there. People just don't know what to do with it. I'm not going to convert and post them online. Too much effort. Any idea what to do with them? Again, for free. I just want to get rid of this stuff that sits collecting dust.

Justin Deas is incredible. I’ve met him 3 times. He’s actually very shy. I sent Margaret pics from the 1 time I ran into them together. A couple very much in love.
