DAYS: July 2025 Discussion Thread
It’s always a good Days when the Outstanding Lead Performer Emmy nominee Greg Rikaart is in an episode. I love my Leo! He always entertains. I’m still not sold on these news writers. Things are not gelling.

Daytime Emmy Nominees
Totally agree! SSH had a 9 minute monologue (unheard of these days) giving Doug’s eulogy and she was brilliant! She was the lead. Who did she support? To your point that the categories are broad - yes, absolutely. Even the supporting actors submit scenes where they are the ‘lead’. They want the focus on them to win the award.

Go Greg!!! I knew he’d get a well deserved nomination! However, if I were voting, I’d vote for Dominic. He deserves the win.

DAYS: July 2025 Discussion Thread
I love my Leo but he’s in a bad storyline. Leo taking care of a baby??? Thanks new writers for a bad story. The Leo of old would never want a baby. And that Javi actor has to #1, learn to act, and #2, stop making those bad acting ticks with his mouth. He always acts like he’s acting. He needs an acting coach.

It’s obvious that Leo isn’t going anywhere. Thank you, Paula & Jeanne!!! That said, they need to work on realism. In this episode, a baby is born, left with cord intact, is given the a physical so Javi can take him home. WTF???? Unrealistic. I’m not impressed with the new team.

One Life to Live Tribute Thread
Tonja was……..something. She was obsessed that she used to be on GH and then downgraded to OLTL. True story: I was visiting the actress who was Tonja’s dressing roommate at OLTL. Tonja had a big, framed photo plastered on the dressing room wall - her GH credit Tonja Walker as Olivia Jerome with the classic GH logo. Tonja’s dressing roommate found it obnoxious. And I can tell you first hand by what I witnessed that day was Tonja causing chaos on the set. This was during the transition period when Rauch was gone and Gottlieb had not started full time yet. (Gottlieb was in and out of the studio depending on her schedule of finishing up other projects before starting OLTL full time.) Gottlieb was not in the studio that particular day. Tonja was holding up production by not being on the set and the director (Peter Miner) was screaming over the studio loudspeaker for Tonja to get on the set - NOW. I did meet Tonja that day as she came into the dressing room when I was visiting her roommate. Tonja was………something.

But doesn’t Sheila Ducksworth work for CBS? She’s an EP at BTG.

LATEST RATINGS: June 16-20, 2025
I know Y&R has problems. BIG problems. BTG has big problems too when they lose over a million viewers from their lead-in B&B. And out of nowhere, CBS decides to air repeats of BTG next week. This was not a planned week of repeats. Something’s up.

LATEST RATINGS: June 16-20, 2025
BTG loses demos from its lead-in. That’s never good. And CBS is already showing a week of repeats next week, which is unheard of. (Save for covid). Hopefully they are retooling the show.

LATEST RATINGS: June 16-20, 2025
You know that there are problems with BTG when Y&R has more than double their audience. I watch BTG. It’s on in the background but nothing draws me in. The production is terrible. They seem to fade to black in the middle of words. Where are the cliffhangers? The show needs a revamp, already. It’s not catching on.

I’ll never forget what Wheeler did to kill our grande dame GL. The evidence is out there for all to see. (Wednesday! Peapack!) And I chuckle at the justification some try to defend her. There is no defense. She was weak. And cried. Alot. Why is it that when strong EP’s (Rauch, Conboy) are in charge, everything is their fault, but when you get a weakling like Wheeler, none of it is her fault, it was all P&G and CBS?

ALL: "Soapy" Podcast hosted by Rebecca Budig & Greg Rikaart
Excellent news! I’ll be watching my Greg. He and Rebecca are hilarious on social media so I’m sure they will kill it on the podcast. Can’t wait!

Wheeler was GL’s killer. She was so unqualified for the job. Remember those ridiculous Wednesday episodes? Harley as a comic book character? Stupid. And those Wednesday episodes were more often than not, the lowest rated episodes of the week. That was Ellen’s idea. What was she thinking??? And then Peapack. Worst idea ever, and that was all Ellen. It was a disaster. None of it made sense. Characters walking out of the woods having a conversation. Thank you to the soap execs who never hired her again.

It’s always interesting how people remember things. I remember that Pam Long gave an interview the week that GL was going off the air and she didn’t remember that she wrote Reva’s post partum depression story that lead to Reva driving off the bridge. ( I’m Coming Bud!!) Pam swore that she didn’t write that. How can you forget writing off Reva Shayne! Pam later backtracked.

This is Ed Scott’s thread and he deserves the accolades. He deserves a great retirement.
