  1. I think it comes from it being "winter" in the D.C. area, etc. But I never doubted they'd use Assembly more as warmer weather came in.
  2. Yeah; I feel like, in previous regimes, it wasn't as consistent as this. You could go episodes without it changing. I just hate the random indent on the secondary head writer.
  3. Under the Korte/Van Etten regime, it alternates every single day. So yesterday it was "Elizabeth Korte, Chris Van Etten" and today it was "Chris Van Etten, Elizabeth Korte". So, if we get a five-day week, one week it'll be three Korte first credits and two Van Etten second credits; then the following week, it'll be three Van Etten first credits and two Korte second credits. So on Monday, Korte will be credited first (a three-day Korte lead credit).

  6. But so far, so good; I haven't tuned out, so that's a positive. Hoping things keep up, especially in transitioning co-executive producer in 2026 material.
  7. Same; and that's the key word: time. It's going to take considerable time for things to shift into the place where they, as a team, need it to. And thus far, it feels like DAYS audiences are giving them that space (especially in comparison to GH audiences who overwhelmingly and loudly expected overnight turnarounds).
  8. They've got me locked in, and I haven't been locked into DAYS since the NBC days.
  9. I have a feeling we won't truly be seeing their stories until the fall; right now, what they've inherited is the mess of the "writer", per their own admission.
  10. date: Friday, May 9 | Gregori J. Martin, Cheryl L. Davis | Phideaux Xavier I am loving the character of June. The swap-off of Anita and Vernon is nice. They are a very in-sync couple and seem to do well at teaming up. That's amazing. I appreciate the more level-headed conversation between Bill and Dani; it's a nice change of pacing for them. Deadbeat's attitude needs to be adjusted ASAP. I don't trust him one iota. At all. Bradley deserves better than an abusive husband. As do the children. I love that June is firm in her convictions and her stances; she won't allow anyone to penetrate them. I can tell she has a rich history in her life and hope we get to explore it. Just what Theodore needs, Andre, is alcohol. Ugh. Why not leave him alone with the consequences of his actions? Just like with Eva, Katherine is calling out the truth: Bradley is a better husband than Deadbeat deserves and is just as much a part of the Dupre family as anyone else is! Derek, you do not need a bigger apartment; what you need is to get rid of that ugly-ass chair you named and move back into your own place. Deadbeat, what do you think huffing and puffing with former Daddy is going to do? Eva is right. Disappointing. My heart genuinely hurts for her. Nicole asserting herself with Andre knowing of the affair and not telling her? Oh, that's going to cut! Oh, are we about to get Bill versus Bradley right now?! This could be a juicy-ahh showdown that I am completely here for. Wait, so Bill requested Bradley's presence? What is up his sleeve? Not Miss Dana showing up at the final hour! This is going to be a showdown. I know it is! Notes: The new hairstyle on Arielle Prepetit (Naomi) is very cute. The hotel suite is a very nice, sleek design. Almost reminds me of the Country Club's rooms from the first week. It's nice seeing a different-looking hotel type of design from what other soaps continue to show us. The food at Orphey Gene's and Uptown continues to look undeniably delicious; I'd be more inclined to eat at the former, but I'd happily visit both establishments.

  15. I pray⏤and I know it's a big prayer⏤that Noel Maxam is somehow able to figure things out budget-wise so we can stop re-dressing existing sets as "new" sets. I know in apartment buildings apartments can generally look the same, but I'm over it on this soap. The last time he was executive producer was in 2011 when the original Horton Town Square was introduced, and we had some other sets get introduced around this time (likely pre-commissioned prior to his election), but I'm trying to have some hope he can pull this off. Let's [finally] see it.
  16. If The Real Housewives of Dubai is on hiatus/pause (a.k.a. done), then we need a way for Caroline Stanbury to come back to Ladies of London.
  17. date: Thursday, May 8 | Ron Carlivati, Danielle Paige | Phideaux Xavier I love the continued references to real-life things; I feel like that's been so avoided in American daytime soaps for such a long time. Dana is genuinely unhinged; she is giving Glenn Close as Alex in Fatal Attraction to the fullest extent, acting as if she's the ultimate love of Ted’s life when she was nothing more than a sidepiece. Not Dana packing up Eva's belongings and throwing her ass out like she is common trash. The child bride is giving a cheap trailer wife look with this look. But she needs to sit her behind down; this is not her fight. This existed before anyone knew she even existed. This is between Bill and Ted right now. I feel like Dani is speaking from experience, knowing of Bill's infidelity throughout her marriage, and I do feel like this is her [trying] to protect her big sissy from the hurt she's been experiencing. Not Anita comparing Ted to Bill; they're both scum men who did not deserve the Dupree women they conned into marrying them. Katherine is putting demands on her new relationship with Tomas; I understand it, but that is not healthy at all, no matter which side. If Tomas demanded that of her, I know she'd high-tail it out of there. Cannot have double standards. Dani walking in, commanding the room, and tossing Hayley out of her own living room? Whew. Not Dana legitimately throwing the photo out of her and Eva; that's cold. "There is no purchase in what might have been," Anita Dupree. What brilliant advice. So wise. Full of wisdom. So now Ted wants to get a hotel room for Eva and then get her her own apartment? Well, okay then. Notes: Ambyr Michelle (Eva) once again gave a masterful performance in today's episode. She's so going places outside of daytime. I see her doing her three-year contract (if that's how they're done for this soap) and ditching it to go back into primetime/film. It is abundantly clear to me why Maurice Johnson (Ted) is exiting the role. I have not bought his performance once throughout any of the "reveal" nor in today's episode. I'm not compelled to believe him or believe in him. At all. There is no emotion in his performance.
  18. Tamara Tunie (Anita, BTG; ex-Jessica, ATWT) is part of the latest Law & Order: Organized Crime season, reprising her role as M.E. Warner.
  19. Per TVLine: ❝ “It’s never easy to end shows, and we had a lot of options this year,” Reisenbach told reporters on Wednesday afternoon, shortly after revealing CBS’ Fall 2025 schedule. “We always have to look at all of our shows, look at the aggregate information — the creative, where they are in their life cycle, what the finances look like, what the ratings are — and we make those tough decisions. ❞
  20. Not once, at least in my area, has Beyond the Gates been interrupted for "news". Nor do I need the history lesson as a decades-long soap watcher. In remembering World Turns versus General Hospital at the 2 p.m. hour, CBS is less likely to interrupt in comparison to ABC. This isn't an interruption of [another] school shooting, the orange monster announcing more things to ruin this country, or weather personnel telling us it is raining outside (when we can see it raining outside); it's the election of a new Pope. That's a major thing, especially for a lot of people who are deep in their faith. Would I rather my show be on? Yes. But am I going to absolutely lose my damn mind over it? No. I'm not. This is not an everyday occurrence (the election of the Pope). This isn't new, and yet people⏤not just here⏤continue to act as if it is a new thing and that it's the end of the world as they know it. It's not.
  21. Credits for Thursday, May 8, 2025: Created by: Frank & Doris Hursley Executive producer: Frank Valentini Head writers: Elizabeth Korte, Chris Van Etten Writers: Nigel Campbell, Charlotte Gibson, Cathy Lepard Director: Tina Keller
  22. To quote you: please don't. For some, it is breaking news. And it's not like this is an everyday occurrence. I'm tired of people acting like it's the end of the world or something.
  23. Some people gotta calm down, whew.
