GH: May 2025 Discussion Thread
Harper > Melgar (yes, I said it) I happen to be in the lonely camp of actually liking Harper as Jordan, although I still believe Jordan, as a character, could easily be eliminated from the canvas, and I would be A-OK with it. Honestly, the character of Jordan went from interesting to expendable the moment she was taken out of the Jerome circle and made a law enforcement agent. I'm not age-shaming Finola Hughes either. It simply comes down to the characters at this point. To go from interacting with David Hayward and Edmund on AMC to Jason and Sonny on GH... is an actual choice. Hell, I'd even add Valentin to that list.

HBO Max is becoming "MAX"
Looks like HBO Max is returning this summer.

Oh see, I remember now. Thank you; I do recall those scenes standing out in my head! Plus, the all-too-underutilised Chaunteé Schuler as Bonnie. That was a surprising, yet good, recast.

I think her friendships with Jason and Sonny stem from Robin's loyalty to them, but to me, that isn't enough for them to be friends. Anna is a grown-ass adult, and she can make her own decisions; that'd be like saying Robin needs to be friendly with anyone in Anna's life due to her loyalty to them. And I don't believe so. And I hope they never do.

I can't recall... but did Jon Lindstrom (Joey; Craig, ATWT) and Tamara Tunie (Anita; Jessica, ATWT) ever interact on As the World Turns when the latter returned in 2009?

Oh yes, The Bay, haha. She was... decent? Trust me... I hate the friendship, and the same goes with Anna/Sonny, which is why I adored when Patrick Mulcahey came in and said, "This isn't happening anymore!" And it felt amazing to me!

Yes; plus, it's supposedly the home of the trauma Alexis experienced when they were in that storyline, etc., a.k.a., another recycled and redressed set. Wouldn't surprise me, especially since Melgar did the "GH Live!" episodes and those weird-ahh outros we got. Although, given that Melgar has been more aligned with the views of ex-Jax, part of me feels like she wouldn't be asked back. 🤐 Probably because of Luke, and if Laura accepts Sonny, then the audience automatically will, too. I mean, because she does means you do, right?! Right?!

You won't even accept a minute cameo from Ms Marcil herself so she can collect her cheque?

🤣 "Brenda. I quit the business! It's done!" The. End.

She is being forced on the audiences again; she and Sonny are the "gruesome twosome". Even Jason has been pulled back and made more tolerable this 'go round.

- DAYS/GH: RIP Denise Alexander
To me, Judith McConnell (Sophia, SB) was more poised for Beth than anyone else. Yes, she was, as Sister Beatrice.- DAYS/GH: RIP Denise Alexander
I don't know if I could have seen that from her, honestly. But I feel like, outside of GH and her original DAYS stint, American daytime really didn't pay much attention to her, even though they should have.- DAYS: May 2025 Discussion Thread

And, even if the same topic of conversation is had, it isn't a re-hashing of the same dialogue over and over again; it's refreshed, and slightly changed, etc.- BTG: May 2025 Discussion Thread
date: Tuesday, May 13 | Sara A. Bibel, Cheryl L. Davis | Steven Williford So Deadbeat's secret has to do with a car accident? At least Nicole is getting dressed. That's a sign of good things to come. Eva looks gorgeous in her sparkling pink number. Very age-appropriate and fashionable. So, Douglas is back to his gambling addictions and lying to Vanessa, and here comes Joey, ready to fully cash in on the debt owed to him. Jan, you look gullible, but do not let Dana continue to trick you into believing her sob story, because it's just that: a story. If you're going to eavesdrop on someone, maybe do not make it so apparent (i.e., the new character: Kenny). But at least Deadbeat isn't running for president anymore. That's a sigh of relief. Anastasia, the town gossip, is a mood. Hoping she's an occasional guest when things need to be spiced up a bit. So, Deadbeat is no hero? This is alluding to this big, bad secret that's being harboured. Interesting. "You is kind, you is smart, you is important." We love historical references, this time to The Help. Oh, the showdown face; Nicole's slight eyebrow lift at the sight of Ted and Eva. If Vanessa knew she'd be showing up with Dani, then she really should have given them a heads up about who was at the country club. Not Derek just throwing his nasty, dirty shirt on the ground. I would be completely pissed off... and I guarantee he's using all of the steamy hot water, and I would absolutely off him. He and his ugly-ass chair would be out of the home. Oh, so everyone knows about Anastasia, and I do adore her. She gives me Leanna Love from Y&R, but even juicier. Eva, don't beg Dana for forgiveness; she manipulated you most of all... and you deserve better. So Anatasia wants lip filler? Or is she hinting at something else...? Well, well, well... Joey's true colours are finally coming out, and not going to lie... I believe him. Dana putting on a show that makes her look even more psychotic than she actually is. Dougie boy, do not sell out Vanessa and her business. The anvils dropping about Dana's future in Fairmont Crest keep coming out more and more. Months to build debt and one week to pay it off? Sounds about right to me. Notes: Karla Mosley (Dani) was right during the premiere week: Dani would be leveled out, and these last few episodes have showcased that. It's nice seeing Mosley showcase some good range and the capability of everyday range, as well. Jon Lindstrom (Joey) is showing what a capable actor he is; GH only barely tapped into that during the long-winded, dragged-out Kevin Chamberlain revisit. Ambyr Michelle (Eva) continues to be the undisputed standout amongst the cast. She's going places. Brandon Claybon (Martin) and Ben Gavin (Derek) continue to be standouts in the most needing of being recast, immediately. We've now got a second year under our belt, so now is the time to tweak the casting on both roles. Although Derek could easily be written out via a fire or emergency via his job.- GH: May 2025 Discussion Thread
