would loved to have seem them go there. of course, jack’s wife — mary ryan — had been dead for a while.

which is exactly why it was a brilliant decision on the part of mvj — opens up a lot of story. of course, back in the day, it would have been months of story. now i’m hoping for a least a couple of weeks. thought i do wish that rather than leslie confronting nicole in the same episode, the audience could have had a bit of a chance to anticipate the reveal.

i’ve always suspected the former. particularly since the initial attempt was the first week, when we knew virtually nothing about the character or her motivation.

not familiar with the 90-day consecutive rerun issue. i thought the late february start allowed them to take full advantage of Black history month.

it also occurred to me that the original plan was to contrast ted and nicole’s marriage with dani and bill’s, which makes sense dramatically. but keith’s not available, so they cast maurice and the audience responds accordingly. problem is that for a good chunk of the audience, it feels like a bait-and-switch.

ahh. i’ve been evaluating the decision from the perspective of viewers, who are likely to be, shall we say, less than thrilled at having to wait for a week to pick up chelsea’s rescue.

so, if the speculation that nuTed was the actor they wanted initially is correct, then it follows that their original intent was for ted to be seen as a loser. with original ted, their mutual connection (and attraction) between him and nicole was clear. i see nicole with nuTed, have no idea what she ever saw in him, much less why she married him. and what is with the blasting music that keeps popping on?

Well we were discussing that in the soap news thread about the episode count and its potential for them to pull another repeat week. Go look see. having trouble locating that discussion. but according to the initial report, “the soap opera is roughly four plus months ahead in terms of tape-to-air, and two plus months ahead script-to-tape,” which mean that have enough episodes ready to air into early 2026. so i’m not sure how a week of repeats helps from a production perspective. and as for viewers, even assuming that chelsea gets rescued tomorrow, making people cool their heels after such an intense week makes no sense — at least to me.

thankfully, it looks like this is going to wrap up soon, because i don’t know how much more i can take of bat [!@#$%^&*] crazy alison.

which would mean that what we’re seeing now is how mvj always envisioned the character, which is such a letdown from original version ted. never understand what to make of that.

i really loved that nicole set aside the antagonism she feels to sympathize — even empathize — with haley’s (likely) ‘loss.’ i was hoping that anita could have done the same with bill — genuinely acknowledge the situation at hand.

This is the most interested I have been in Joey since the start of this soap and I do not care for this character at all, so it's working for me i was just coming to say i might be wrong. this episode is really pulling all of the pieces together. particularly loved nicole and haley.

ALL: Speculation on the Future of Successful Daytime Soap Operas
That is how I imagine hell. You wake up to find yourself alone in a room with only one TV that has non-stop Bold 24/7 (episodes starting from around 2021 - that's when sh-t REALLY hit the fan in my opinion) and there is no way to turn it off. In the pauses between episodes... you hear snippets from Brad Bell interviews in which he says that these are his best seasons. You cry and you scream and beg someone to stop this misery and open the door, but the only thing you hear is Brooke repeating "destiny" and Sheila laughing in the distance. You find yourself in Kafkaesque nightmare you can't escape. after 13 years away from soaps, i started watching btg. never watched b&b, but a couple of months ago, i turned the television on early and was so mesmerized (and not in good way:) by what i saw i was compelled to watch the next two episodes. recap has always been a part of soaps, but covering the same material at least six times in the same 30-minute episode?! i know that the cbs audience has always skewed old, but not everyone watching has a short-term memory deficit.

this illustrates perfectly why i continue to have a problem with NuTed. somewhere (not sure if was here or on another board) i said that i felt the recasting ted had damaged the character. someone (again, not sure here or elsewhere) replied that what we’re seeing now is how MVJ originally envisioned. maybe… but that means her original version was simplistic and far less interesting that what viewers saw the first few weeks. so the recast feels like a big bait-and-switch.

So you're quitting too? i’ve seen every episode thus far. but down the road, i’m planning to check recaps and spoilers and watch when something looks interesting — like tomorrow, when vernon goes to bill, i assume about breaking the trust.

i’m still hoping against hope that derek will need longterm rehab and that he and ashley will disappear. weird — and frustrating. it’s been six months, and gotten to the point that the boring — not to mention stupid — is far outweighing the good when it should be other ‘way round. and in the police station? the short answer is no! no one seems to have any filters.

is jacob on vacation? and doesn’t naomi have clients? used to love both these characters until this storyline destroyed them both.
