  1. McConnell was just reelected. Senators have 6-year terms. So he's doing longterm strategizing for himself - he wants to "cleanse" the party of Trump so that he(McConnell) can lead the party and have power. But he and the others are acting out of selfish reasons, regardless of when their terms are up. Adding more to the list:
  2. This is from a doctor. I assume this tweet was intended as humor or irony. It's not in regular news.
  3. The terrorists beat up a Metropolitan DC policeman: https://www.nytimes.com/2021/01/11/us/capitol-mob-violence-police.html They struck officers with hockey sticks, crutches and flags. They used flags on poles as weapons. Quote: They pulled the officer down the stairs, face down, another rioter beat him with an American flag as the mob chanted “USA! USA! USA!” End Quote. I can't wrap my mind around this: The terrorists beat a policeman with an American flag, while chanting USA! USA! USA! But then I can't wrap my mind around any of this.
  4. https://www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news/politics/rep-pramila-jayapal-tests-positive-for-coronavirus-after-being-locked-down-with-lawmakers-who-wouldnt-wear-masks/ Rep. Pramila Jayapal tested positive for coronavirus Monday night, her office said, after she was in lockdown during Wednesday’s siege of the Capitol with “Republican lawmakers who cruelly and selfishly refused to wear masks.” Jayapal’s office said she was locked in a secure room, as a pro-Trump mob stormed the Capitol, for “multiple hours” and several Republican colleagues “not only cruelly refused to wear a mask but mocked colleagues and staff who offered them one.” Jayapal, a Democrat from Seattle, began quarantining immediately after the attack, her office said, fearing that she may have been exposed. In an interview with The Cut, published last week, she said she was quarantining because she was convinced the room she’d been in, “where there were over 100 people and many Republicans not wearing masks, was a superspreader event.” “Too many Republicans have refused to take this pandemic and virus seriously, and in doing so, they endanger everyone around them,” Jayapal said Monday night. “Only hours after President Trump incited a deadly assault on our Capitol, our country, and our democracy, many Republicans still refused to take the bare minimum COVID-19 precaution and simply wear a damn mask in a crowded room during a pandemic — creating a superspreader event on top of a domestic terrorist attack.” Jayapal, in a prepared statement, did not say if she was feeling ill or experiencing symptoms. She said she would continue to work “to the best of my ability” while in quarantine. Jayapal is the second Democratic member of Congress to test positive since the siege on the Capitol. Rep. Bonnie Watson Coleman, D-N.J., announced a positive test earlier Monday. In a video posted shortly after the attack, Rep. Lisa Blunt Rochester, D-Del., can be seen trying to give masks to her colleagues while they’re locked down together during the siege. At least six Republican representatives can be seen in the video, posted by Punchbowl News, refusing the masks. “I am also calling for serious fines to be immediately levied on every single Member who refuses to wear a mask in the Capitol,” Jayapal said. “Additionally, any Member who refuses to wear a mask should be immediately removed from the floor by the Sergeant at Arms. This is not a joke. Our lives and our livelihoods are at risk, and anyone who refuses to wear a mask should be fully held accountable for endangering our lives because of their selfish idiocy.”

  6. New York State Bar Association plans to oust Rudy Giuliani from being a member of its organization. However group is a private professional association, therefore revoking Giuliani's membership does not mean he would lose his law license. In the State of New York, a law license is granted/removed by the court system. Separately, the chair of the New York State Senate judiciary committee, formally requested that Giuliani's law license be revoked, in a letter sent to the grievance committee with the First Judicial Department of the Appellate Division in the New York state Supreme Court, urging the grievance committee to disbar him. Removal from a voluntary state bar association, before disbarment by the courts, is extremely rare. However, in this, case the NY State Bar Association is considering moving forward anyhow. https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/donald-trump/new-york-state-bar-association-moves-remove-rudy-giuliani-its-n1253722
  7. Thursday January 7 (the day after the attempted insurrection), Trump was in the East Room of the White House awarding the Presidential Medal of Freedom to golfers. https://www.golfchannel.com/news/donald-trump-awards-annika-sorenstam-gary-player-presidential-medal-freedom And now Jim Jordan. 8. Wow. I don't even know what to do with that. AOC actually cares about people. Trump doesn't. I judge people by whether they vote for issues that help people. I don't care about anyone's perceived media persona.
  9. I went to the State Dept website and it looks nothing like that. I'm on a Windows PC. The seal is tiny and in the corner. All I see is a big notice that Pompeo is currently giving a press conference, with a link you can click to watch. I guess whatever the disgruntled prankster did had been fixed by the time I looked.
  10. Your earlier posts sound like you're putting AOC in the same category as Trump. NO. Just because a person speaks out for things that matter, doesn't make them egotistical. She's assertive for issues that care about people, not a show-off. Trump is a narcissist show-off who cares about nothing but himself.
  11. I think that some ideas that are referred to as "liberal" are actually centrist, or slightly left of center. I think that some (but not all) ideas that are referred to as "far left" are simply liberal.
  12. I strongly disagree with your post in which you said they have glaring personality disorders and you put them in the same category a QAnon followers. I think you're way off saying that. Also this isn't about a takeover. Geesh. I think their ideas are logical and rational.
  13. "Justice Dems" ? I don't think they have glaring personality disorders. I think most of their platform is helpful.
  14. ^ regarding that ... When Twitter made their Jan 8th blogpost saying why they were suspending Trump permanently, one of the things they mentioned was this: "Plans for future armed protests have already begun proliferating on and off-Twitter, including a proposed secondary attack on the US Capitol and state capitol buildings on January 17, 2021." https://blog.twitter.com/en_us/topics/company/2020/suspension.html
  15. Melania's statement: https://www.whitehouse.gov/articles/first-lady-melania-trump-path-forward/ This paragraph seems to be endorsing both sides, which could be interpreted as sending a message that the mob was right. She condemns violence but still says this: "As an American, I am proud of our freedom to express our viewpoints without persecution. It is one of the paramount ideals which America is fundamentally built on. Many have made the ultimate sacrifice to protect that right. With that in mind, I would like to call on the citizens of this country to take a moment, pause, and look at things from all perspectives." And she made this about her. "I find it shameful that surrounding these tragic events there has been salacious gossip, unwarranted personal attacks, and false misleading accusations on me – from people who are looking to be relevant and have an agenda. This time is solely about healing our country and its citizens. It should not be used for personal gain." And there's this:
  16. The twitter account @parlertakes was created as a way to tweet mocking screencaps of Parler posts. The profile description: "I look at Parler so you don’t have to." It was/is clear that the twitter account detests these people, and tweeted screencaps only to let readers/followers know what magas were thinking, but the twitter account didn't subject readers/followers to the depths of it. It's kind of like you could safely look through specially shielded one-way glass to have a glimpse of what was happening over on Parler, without having to step into the ooze. Amazon said they'd remove parler from their server at 11:59pm Sunday Jan 10th. It did go offline about 15 minutes late. Parler no longer exists - they cannot upload/post anything new at all. The parlertakes twitter account is going to try to follow the creeps wherever they disperse to . Here is what the Parler CEO posted on Parler before it shut down:
  17. Here's part two:
  18. Leslie Stahl was annoying and wouldn't use the word terrorists.
