  1. Speaking of Officer Byrd, Judge Judy's finalie should have been big, but there was no fan fare at all. I get peacemaking but Hope is a bit too forgiving for agreeing to be Steffy's maid of honor. The gesture was nice though. I'm surprised no one has mentioned the rumors behind what Finn's dad suspicious behavior is about👀👀
  2. Ted King got old! He kind of resembles Finn which makes the adoption part odd.
  3. Britt and the $19.97 tooth brush, lol! And Sam, dressing in color and attractively for a change!
  4. It made no sense to me that Spencer tried to use an alias —wearing no disguise at that —- in a town where he’s well known as has so many connections. Otherwise he’s a good addition to the canvas.
  5. Luke & Laura were shat on mercilessly after Nicolas' introduction, and especially in the 2000s. The magic of Lucky and Liz wasn’t recaptured after their initial run with JJ.
  6. In stead of getting a strong black villain, Justin goes back to Bill crying for forgiveness. It would’ve been interesting to see Justin take over Spencer for a few months, and possibly even try to make a play for Katie. He could have even hired Carter. Something to the effect of Jack and Brad taking over Newman in the 90s on Y&R. But instead they show resolves things in lightning speed. Granted fast paced is better than boring dry prolongment But at least try to give events more weight by dragging things out a little bit.
  7. DAYS is probably the soap I’m the least historically familiar with. When would you all say was the show’s prime quality era, and the point where it became utterly unwatchable? I’ll hesitate to ask when is the point the show went off the rails because I feel the common answer might be the Riley, posession era, lol. That was definitely over the top but some might say DAYS was really watchable at that point?
  8. Thorsten tried but he’s just not Ridge. He’d work as his own character, perhaps a Forrester nephew of Eric’s from Europe or whatever. As bleh as an actor that Ron Moss is, he was Ridge! Cant say that I’d be disappointed if the current actor left.
  9. My thoughts exactly!! Granted, everyone on this show has had their slutty moments..*ERIC*, but no one surpasses Brooke Logan. I don’t hate her character though, she’s added some great comical drama over the years. I don’t find Brooke evil, like she still stood in front of the gun when Sheila was about to shoot Stephanie back in the day, and she was there for Stephanie in the end during the cancer storyline. Her main issue is she cannot control her self when it comes to inappropriate relationships like sleeping with her daughter or her sister’s husband. I wonder if the actress at any point said maybe we’re dragging the character too low? Someone said at one point they should explore a sex addiction storyline with Brooke to add some depth to her actions besides being a “hopeless romantic”. As for Donna, they’re pushing her affection for Eric too hard. They could ease more into that. She belongs with someone like Bill. If there’s anyone for Eric it’s Brooke based on their past behaviors.
  10. It was frustrating that Jason didn’t simply explain his business marriage to Carly, but as @AlexElizabeth said it’s most likely to heighten the drama. But Britt has been in the mix enough to understand his reasoning and play the low key role to be with Jason on the side. They could have definitely made some comedy-drama off of that triad situation. It could have developed into Carly & Jason getting confused about their feelings for each other, something to the effect of Alan/Monica/Susan/Phelippe, lol.
  11. I hate to say it but agreed. When you get to a point where modern-day B&B is a more interesting watch, there's a serious issue
  12. As much as I am here for the drama that will surround a Jarly marriage, you're telling me a pair of criminals have to get LEGALLY married to prove their union to other criminals??? Couldn't they just say they got married?
  13. I would like to see Brenda return just not the way she was acting in 2010. Her whole nerdy glasses demeanor and style was just a far cry from her earlier self. I believe amnesiac Sonny is the perfect opportunity to bring her back. She can finally have the man she loves without the mob, eventually Sonny gets his memory back, and a whole mess ensues with Carly and Jason. Brenda and Jason is another pairing that I am not against. If they could work that in there at some point that would be cool.
  14. Wow! I was only aware of the actor who played Joe Martin’s death but this I didn’t expect this today. RIP STAURT!! Growing up on Phelps/Guza GH I had no idea how critical he and Leslie Charleston used to be to the show. After watching their 70s, 80s and 90s material on YouTube all I have to say is wow! They were the quintessential toxic old married couple. What made them unique is that they were always together for decades, notwithstanding their brief divorce. I regard them as one of General Hospital’s top 10 super couples even if they aren’t considered one. My favorite Stewart Damon storylines were the Monica and Rick affair, Susan Moore, and Ray Conway’s death. I wish he would’ve been on the show up till today but that’s ancient history now. If it’s true that Frank & Ron wanted to bring him back (but couldn’t due to his illness) then that would have been nice. Personally, it would’ve been cool to have been around when all those great storylines originally aired. it sucks to see all the legends dying and all the socks going to trash as I come of age. I hope the show does him justice with a tribute. When they were at their most vicious state, it was good tv: This was a great summation of all their affairs:
  15. Paul was keeping Sheila who had plastic surgery to look like Phyliss in a cage. Apparently all of this has been negated by Sheila‘s return to B&B in 2017. @FevuhI agree that $Bill is too cartoonish. He’s over the top and too much of a jerk, but surprisingly was a breath of fresh air in his scenes on Y&R. This most likely because it was like having Brad back in a different form. Frankly, they need Bill more than Bold does.
  16. Disorganized thoughts: I would like to see Carly & Jason possibly getting closer which creates friction with him and Britt, and Sonny when he gets his memory back. That would also create friction between Sonny and Jason for the first time in a while. It could also lead to Carly being obsessed with power and refusing to give it up which would blow up her possible pairing with Jason sending him back to Britt….What happens between her and Sonny, I’m not sure. This pairing with Britt is long overdue for Jason. I haven't seen him this alive onscreen with a woman since either Carly or 2010 Brenda. Carly and Jason are functioning surprisingly well without Sonny’s presence. He’s not as critical to the canvas as the writers might think. Carly and Sonny have lost all steam despite my personal lobbying for their reunion and I think that’s because of Maurice’s disinterested Kelly Monaco like acting as of late.
  17. Jason was reassuring Carly like an insecure side chick, and Jason is always too calm in dealing with her. He should have set Carly straight. Carly shedding tears really gave me either co-dependency or in love with Jason but settling for Sonny vibes. Likewise, it would have been nice to see him angry at Elizabeth and her son for their accusations, then forgive them. The all knowing, always calm bit gets frustrating after a while. It’s was good to see the criminal justice storyline occurring between Sean and Alexis. Parings that could work: Valentine & Ana, Finn & Liz, Chase & BrookLynn, Sasha & Brando, Sean & Alexis??
  18. These days on B&B its....event x occurs, then ruminate on said event with excessively repetitive dialogue for 3 weeks, throw in a twist, and rapidly conclude the story for a week thereafter. Soaps have grown inept at writing years long stories with an overarching plot containing complications that can fill airtime without feeling like a bore.
  19. The revelation of Vinnie's suicide came too quickly. I was thinking, that if the writers wanted to stretch out the story they could have said a business rival who wants to take over Bill's company neutralize Thomas to keep the Spencers in jail and take over Spencer Publications. Lo and behold I see Justin knock out Thomas, so it seems that's exactly where the story is going. Could we get a strong black villain? I hope so. I don't believe we've gotten one since the days of RJ Gannon on OLTL if I'm correct.
  20. Damn B&B moves fast! They came up with this Vinny reveal, ALREADY! GH would have dragged this out.
  21. So they can bring Michael Easton and Rodger Howarth on as several different characters but we couldn't do the same for Stuart Damon etc....or even used a crappy backstory like Helena's freezer or David Hayward's clinic on AMC to resurrect some of the killed off Quartermaines.
  22. Agreed. Personally, I think it should be #1 in the ratings. GH is a shadow of its former self, but it puts in effort. Y&R is a slow, dry, and stale, B&B is currently better than Y&R, but it's also in a repetitive crap state.
  23. Good perspectives! For the characters I listed, I think Maxie was better when she was the fashionista with the bitchy edge, up until the baby stories. Yes she's been kept on the canvas consistently but not in a way on par with her earlier years. I suppose for Olivia that's her function.. just be there as a talk to character. Early was Dante was cool. The way he was charismatic, had energy and stood up to Sonny. Since Lulu was recast I haven't really been into his character as much. He reminds me of Patrick, really interesting in the beginning, more calm and less energetic toward the end. Everyone seems to agree on Sonny and Sam. Both actors appear very checked out. Sonny stammers through his lines. I think the last time Sonny was truly a strong character was confronting Claudia at the birthday party for Michael's shooting. Sam brings no emotion other than sigs and stressed body language half the time.
  24. Maxie, Dante, Olivia, Sam (and up until the amnesia storyline) Sonny are all suffering from character burnout. The writers seem to not know what direction to take these characters in, a side effect of a bloated cast. With that many players some charachters are bound to either have redundant stories or nothing but a supporting role to play.
  25. Started watching because the women in my house did and I got hooked. The crazy storylines were the draw for me. Moreover the long-term storytelling and continuity were fainting. The fact that I could keep up with a community of charachters 5 days a week, in real time, whose stories go back decades was unique from any other genre on tv. I grew up on GH and the CBS soaps.
